Rate this book
New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels returns to the Willow Creek Valley Series in this stunning friends-to-lovers/brother’s best friend romance.

Stella Parkerson has been in love with Jack since she was sixteen. He’s older, broken, her brother’s best friend, and unwilling to betray his promise to never touch her again. Their past is riddled with secrets. Their heartache is too much to bear, but what happens when they can no longer keep apart and give in to their love?

New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels returns to the Willow Creek Valley Series in this stunning small town, brother’s best friend romance.

Fifteen years ago, I fell for Jack O’Donnell.

I was just a girl, but I knew my brother’s best friend was the only man I’d ever love.

On my eighteenth birthday, when I asked him to kiss me, I never imagined it would change my life so completely.

I gave Jack everything that night.

In order to move on, we had to go our separate ways and pretend like nothing happened... as though it wasn’t the greatest moment of my life.

But even that wasn’t as heartbreaking as the secret we were forced to keep.

I’ve tried not to think about how much I still love him. How I long to be back in his strong arms or the way his hazel eyes make my heart race.

Until he kisses me again. And this time there’s no turning back. This time I know what it means.

We belong together and there’s no use denying it any longer.

But our feelings aren’t the only thing that won’t stay buried, our past resurfaces and threatens to destroy our second chance at happiness.

When our love is tested once again, will we be strong enough to stand together?

UNPOPULAR OPINION

I'm going on a mini rant or not so mini rant depending on how much I have to say, so beware MAJOR SPOILERS from here.

Where everyone sees a gut-wrenching story, all I thought is 'what a convenient story'.

There were two things that annoyed the shit out of me.

1. the second chance trope

I love second chance when it is done right, meaning that the main characters separation is due to external forces or for other valid reasons.

Stella and Jack staying separated for 12 years was just the dumbest thing I've read all month.

A lil background story. Stella (h) and Jack (H) had a one night stand when Stella was 18 and Jack (22) was in college. From that one time, Stella got pregnant, but was not allowed to keep the baby, because her father threated to cut her off and destroy Jack's life as well. So for the last four months of her pregnancy, Stella had to hide away at her grandmothers, because none of her four brothers knew about the pregancy. When the baby was born, Stella and Jack gave the little girl away to Samuel & Misty. 12 years later, Stella and Jack live with the consequences of their actions, still live in the same town & pine for each other, but don't do anything. By the way Jack is Grayson's (Stella's older brother) best friend.

And here I am sitting and screaming at my kindle to JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER FFS. 12 years of misery, because Stella thinks that Jack doesn't feel anything for her, because she is "only" his best friend's little sister and Jack thinks that Stella hates him, bc he took away from her (the baby or whatever) and therefore she will never forgive him. They see each other's face all the time and you're telling me it took them 12 years to get their shit together? Yeah no. I was reading and reading and tried so hard to find the reasons why they stayed away. Pride? Stubbornness? Stupidity? Fear of Grayson's reaction? It's one thing if one of them moved across the country and they wouldn't have seen each other all that time, but they are living in the same fucking town, still attracted to each other and it still took TWELVE FUCKING YEARS???? BULLSHIT! I can't remember the last time I wanted to smack two people this badly.

by the time (@32% to be exact) Stella and Jack got back together, I couldn't give a damn about them. I just didn't care, because they could have spared ME the whole back and forth and push and pull if they had talk like adults, instead of doing dancing around each other for TWELVE years, TWELVE years of dating other people while the other party is watching on the sideline, TWELVE years of leading other people on while still having feelings for someone else who is right infront your nose. I'm not going to stop mentioning the 12 (!!!!) years, cause I'm so annoyed. After that I just wasn't invested in the romance and basically skimmed through most of their scenes if it wasn't important.

2. emotional impact wheeeere?

remember when I said that I thought the story was too convenient? Here is what I mean

When Stella and Jack gave Kinsley away, it was the hardest thing they had to do. They have been struggling with the guilt, heartache and pain all these years. While Jack–the wise man he is– decided to cut all contact with Samuel and Misty, Stella–the masochist–thought it's a great idea to keep in contact with Misty, where they would exchange letters and photos of Kinsley. Stella really woke up every day and chose pain.

why in the loving hell would you do that? that's just torture and beyond my imagination.

So okay, Stella's POV is a pity party, before and after, she got back with Jack. She lives with so much longing and regret, wishing she had Kinsley and they could all be one big happy family. Andthen what happens? She gets a call from Samuel telling her that Misty just died from cancer. And all I could think of is "oh wow, how convenient that your daughter who has a happy life just lost her mother .. hmm let's see what else is going to happen". Stella goes to Samuel's for the funeral, cause Misty is a dear friend of hers after all and of course Kinsley sees her.

Then chapter for chapter it got worse, cause Samuel is not coping well with the death of his wife at all and spiraling into alcohol addiction. Stella has to come pick up Samuel at the bars a couple of times and it's not looking good.

And again here I'm thinking to myself "hmm great, Kinsley adoptive mother is dead, her adoptive father is an alcoholic and can't keep his job or pay the bills.. what is going to happen next is he going to kill himself to pave the way for YOU to get your child back?"

This is suppose to be a gut-wrenching & heart-breaking story and I was

I was more invested in what would happen to Samuel than Stella and Jack's felling. Sorry not sorry. My anxiety reached an all time high, because with every page turned I thought that I would read that Samuel commited sucide and then Kinsley would live with Stella and Jack and they would all ride into the sunset and boy how I didn't want that to happen.

Lucky for me that didn't happen, but Samuel still hit rock bottom. He called Stella and asked her and Jack to take Kinsley for 30 days, while he is away in rehab. So of course Stella and Jack have their daughter for a month and they are one happy family, Stella introducing Kinsley to all her four brothers and niece and show Kinsley her big ass family. All the while I'm chanting in my head "Don't let anything happen to Samuel. Don't let anything happen to Samuel. Don't let anything happen to Samuel. Please don't destroy other people live, just that your two main characters can get everything they wanted. That would be so unfair." And it's not like Stella and Jack wanted to steal Kinsley away from Samuel (& Misty). That's not at all, Jack was super hesitant to even take Kinsley for the 30 days, cause he knew what emotional toll it would take on them to give Kinsley away a second time, but I couldn't help, but feel like deep down they wish something would happen magically that Kinsley could stay forever with them.

When Samuel called to let Kinsley, Jack and Stella know that he can leave the facility in one week and that Jack and Stella should get Kinsley home on that day, I was shouting "hallelujah thank the heaven" while Jack and Stelle's hearts were breaking. Their feelings are more than valid and I can't imagine how hard it must be to spend time with your daughter, knowing that you have to give her back and the uncertainty of what will happen after, but I just felt apathy towards them.

It's sad time for Jack and Stella for a while after they return Kinsley to Samuel, especially Stella falls into a dark hole, cause neither Samuel or Kinsley are contacting them. But everything is ending fine, Jack goes to Samuel and offers him a job at the resort Jack, Stella and her brothers are building. AGAIN HOW CONVENIENT. Now Samuel and Kinsley basically live next to Jack and Stelle. They can see Kinsley all the time, Kinsley has a big family around her and Samuel has a good support system in case he falls back into addiction or something happens. Win win for all parties.

Why do I keep caring more about the side characters than for the main characters? I hate it here. 2 stars for Samuel & Kinsley's happiness and the Parkerson's family moments.

"I would've wanted the moments," she confesses. "I would've wanted whatever we could've had."

Excuse me while I sob into my hanky and process the many ways that this book wrecked my soul.

description

After the cliffy that Return to Us left us with, I knew I would move heaven and earth for the chance to get my paws on an early copy of Stella and Jack's book, but I had no idea that this was the direction it would take. The author gives us a note at the beginning warning us to hold onto our butts, but to trust her, and trust her I did. I'm so glad that she took a risk and went there with their story, because it brought the most authentic experience we could have with this couple. Yes, it is riddled with spoilers that I won't be touching on, but please note that this might be Corinne's most emotional book to date. (Ok so I've only read 4 to date, but I'm binging her backlist as quickly as humanly possible, k?)

"It could have been us. It should've been us. But it isn't, and I'd do well to remember that."

I truly don't know how to talk about the plot, because there is a rather large bomb dropped in the first chapter that shapes the rest of the book, but I can say that I found the way Michaels decided to tell this story extremely clever. The first 30% of the book actually takes place during part of Return to Us's timeline, showing us behind the scenes of things we didn't pick up in book one, and my mind was BLOWN. Seriously, what a clever way to stack the depth of this town. Bravo.

"A million things go through my mind. Things I wish I could tell him. I love you. I need you. I'm sorry for everything. Please, let's try... just try. Love me, I'm right here."

*sob sob sob* Ok, so Jack and Stella's love story is epic, I don't say that lightly. While I absolutely adored Jess and Grayson's journey at a second chance love, Corinne has topped herself with these two. I can't imagine a love story any more thorough than this one, folks. The small town, the close knit friends and families, and another aspect that I'm sad I can't even hint at (because you deserve to have the same unencumbered experience as me), this book was done so well. I'll admit, I saw about halfway that the story was going in a certain direction that had me nervous, but of course Corinne took it to a place that was pure perfection. I'm so grateful I was able to experience this book, and I hope you'll choose to take this journey into Willow Creek Valley too. Please note that, while Jack and Stella's book is a complete standalone, it is recommended to read Return to Us first to experience all the backstory and character development you'll want to ensure you connect fully with the characters.

I have loved her more than any man has ever loved any woman. And yet, I can’t have her.

It’s no secret I love Corinne Michaels writing/books big. They always have the perfect amount of emotion, angst, and steam. But this book… This book is my favorite one she’s written. It was perfect for me. It wrecked me in the best way and was heartbreaking, heartwarming, and gave me all the feels. Stella and Jack’s story was one I’d been waiting for and it delivered in the best way.

This review will be a bit on the shorter side, because I honestly feel like you will get so much more out of it and feel so much more without any kind of spoilers. I’m so glad I didn’t have any. The first chapter hit me like a gut punch, and I couldn’t stop listening after that. This is one you need to read/discover for yourself.

Jack and Stella’s story was beautiful, romantic, and heart wrenching. My heart broke for these two, but by the end, it was so so full. If you love the feel of a small town romance, a brother’s best friend book, and emotionally angsty reads, this is one you don’t want to miss out on. I also really love the family dynamic of Stella and her siblings. Trust me, you all need this book in your life! Do yourself a favor and pick up Could Have Been Us. I know it will make my top favorites of the year, I loved it so much!

This book is absolutely magnificent! I have been seeing all of Corinne's posts about how this is her favorite couple she's ever written, and that this is her most emotional book yet.. and guys, I really have to agree. I never thought the day would come where someone would top my Dreamboat (aka Liam) but I fucking love Jack. I love him so much and so fully and so completely and OH MY GOD I'm all in my feelings all over again. The love between Stella and Jack is so powerful that I could *feel* how much they loved one another from the very first page, even if they tried to deny it. I was a teary mess by the end of that prologue, and I just kept crying until the very last page. In a word, this book is absolute PERFECTION.

There is so much I want to say about this couple, but this is a love that NEEDS to be experienced first hand. They have so much history between the two of them, but there is one overwhelming reason as to why they believe they can no longer have the future they once had envisioned, and now that their big secret is back in their lives, will it end up tearing them apart for good? Or will they end up happier than they ever imagined?

I'm purposely being vague here, but you really need to with this book. It's so special, so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, filled with an all consuming love to last a lifetime. I just cannot express enough just how beautiful Jack and Stella are together. And all of her brothers?! I DIE. Absolutely glorious. Go read this book ASAP!!

*****************************************************************************
OMG, this book BROKE me. I'm a mess of emotions and tears, wishing my time with this amazing couple didn't have to come to an end. In a word, this book is absolutely perfect. I can't wait for you all to read it!!

Are you ready for an angsty and gut wrenching story? Chapter one you get a punch in the gut and this is basically how the story goes for a bit but don't worry there is light hearted comedy in there that is well blended and will have you laughing with tears.
This is more than just a love story there is another plot that takes that over and Jack and Stella have to navigate these hurtles together if they want to survive. I felt like I was the line of a fly fisherman's pole. I don't think I was completely prepared for this but in the end it worked itself out and prepared you for the next saga which a scandalous bomb was dropped at the end of the book! Just prepare yourself for all the angst but its so worth it.

5 "It's Always Been Stella" stars!
(ARC provided by Valentine PR)

1AA7E8DE-0285-4A9E-9499-01B8CB8F924D

Stella Parkerson grew up in a small town in the mountains of North Carolina called Willow Creek Valley. She has a great job running the family's five star inn, wonderful friends, and four fabulous brothers, but still something is missing. She pretends everything is fine, but secretly suffers a heartache nobody knows about. She's loved Jack O'Donnell since she was a teenager, and after fifteen years she still can't seem to get over him. Just as she's trying to accept he will never return her feelings she suddenly gets a whisper of hope when a kiss changes everything. Will they finally take a chance on being more than friends?

Jack O'Donnell is the outgoing fun guy everyone loves to be around. He's a wilderness guide/ firefighter who counts his friends as his family. The Parkerson's are his people, especially his best friend Grayson. He also has a special place in his heart for Stella Parkerson. She's the only girl of the five siblings, and as his best friend's little sister should be off limits. He's spent years trying to come to terms with the fact that she can never be his. He's tried his best to bury his feelings and stay away. He acts like they don't share a complicated history, but how long can they deny what's always been between them? Their timing was never right, and everything seemed to be against them. Will they get a second chance at love, or will secrets revealed threaten their happily ever after?

-A secret is only that when it's only yours. No one knows how I feel about Stella. Not a soul alive has a clue that I lust for, dream about, or crave the girl who I should never again touch.

-I hate him and love him all at the same time.

-Jack is the other part of my heart.

Wow. Just wow! Corinne once again brings her readers a deeply emotional, intense story that will keep you glued to the pages of this book. Jack and Stella's story was SO much more than I could have ever imagined.

Hang on tight for a story filled with every emotion you can imagine. There were many times while reading that my heart was breaking for these two people, but then there were just as many funny and snarky moments that Corinne is the queen of writing. I was dying to know if Jack and Stella were going to be able to overcome the challenges and obstacles that lay ahead of them, and so I couldn't put the book down until I turned the very last page.

This book is the perfect blend of feelings. I loved getting to see all the Parkerson brothers again, and really fell in love with a couple of new characters we were introduced to. I love how Corinne has laid the groundwork for Josh's story next, and I'm dying to see how that one goes! AND make sure to download the bonus Jack and Stella scene once you've finished reading their story.

These Parkerson siblings are really stealing my heart!

Relatable and gut wrenching, the story of Stella and Jack is a beautiful rollercoaster of emotions.
I had no idea going into this where the story was headed. It was surprising, raw, hard to read at times but so worth it. The world building and characters are very well done. The story flows really well and the angst level is at an all time high.
Stella and Jack have a difficult past, filled with secrets and heartbreak. They have been in love for 15 years but didn't act in it for various reasons. This story is about the power of love in a very difficult situation. It is the kind of story that makes you reflect on choices and may haunt you for some time. It is also romantic and fun and full of hope.
This is not a standalone so you need to read the first book in this series first or you'll become confused about the characters and some of the storyline. But no worries, that is another amazing book.

I received an arc for a honest review.

Get tissues ready. You will need it.

Full Review:
It totally deserves more than 5 stars. It's probably Corinne's best story up to date. I was not expecting this story at all, but it totally surpassed what I was expecting. I was expecting a typical brother's best friend story, but it was so much more. If you think you know what's going to happen, think again. Corinne nailed it out of the park with this one.

One chapter in and I was already bawling my eyes out. I kid you not, I can't even keep track on how many times I cried for this book. It gutted me so many times. Jack and Stella's love story would keep you at the edge of your seat. Once you think it's going to be all lovey dovey, Corinne throws in a twist that would gut you. There were times when I want to smack them both across the head so many times, but I can TOTALLY understand where they were both coming from.

All the side characters were AMAZING!!! I'm so excited for more books from this series.

I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this book.

5 heartwrenching, amazingly swoony stars

Damn, Corinne Michaels has taken my heart and squished it over and over again throughout this book. How many books have you in tears during the very first chapter? How many writers can make you feel that much in only a few pages? God, the feels! But what an amazing story! An emotional and heartwrenching read with the most amazingly swoony second-chance/brother’s-best-friend romance. This book had me feeling all the feels, and I freaking loved it!

Jack and Stella were introduced in the first book of this series, Return to Us. Stella is one of five siblings that will have their stories told in this series, Jack is the best friend of Stella’s older brother (and hero of book #1), Grayson. It was clear in the last book that there was something between them, we got to see a hint of their awkward chemistry and a truly exciting secret kiss that had me super excited for their story. The events of the first part of this book overlap the last book, so beware spoilers and read the books in order for full effect.

They’ve known each other since they were children yet, unbeknownst to their friends and family, Jack and Stella share a past that changed their world in ways they never anticipated, and has impacted their whole lives. In love with each other for 15 years, but never feeling able to be together in the way they want, their desperation and wanting for each other just drips off the page.

“Do you want me?”
“Like the fucking air I breathe.”

I could feel their pain and longing, which quickly comes to a head, bringing a most-welcome resolution to their conflict and beginning a sweet, sexy, playful and deeply emotional love story between two people who are absolutely meant to be.

“I have loved you for so long that I don’t remember a time when I didn’t.”

The romance is beautifully swoony, and had me in romance-reader heaven! But their story is so much more than that. I won’t give details because I don’t want to spoil anything, you just need to dive in and experience this, and prepare for the emotion, because OMG, I felt everything. Jack and Stella go through so much in this book, but it was perfect for their story. It wasn’t stupid drama or unnecessary angst, it was an important journey for them, and even though it hurt, and had me reading with tears streaming down my face, it’s the story that I wanted for them, and it’s beautifully written – with so much heart and realism, I could feel it all right along with them.

“I’m going to give you a future,” I vow.
“With you.”
“For as long as you want me.”
“Forever.”

At the same time, the storyline established in the first book of the series continues, as Stella and her brothers come together to take charge of their futures, and I loved seeing the siblings all together. They have a fantastic dynamic, full of banter and laughs, and watching the protective big brothers tease her and Jack over finally finding their way to each other was so much fun. And then watching them come together and take Jack and Stella’s backs through the rest of the story, was just gorgeous.

Two books in, and I am loving this series! The next book is set up nicely, and I’m so excited to read more about the eldest Parkerson brother, Josh.

Such a beautiful story, I loved it!

5 stars.

CORINNE DID IT AGAIN!!!!
Jack and Stella's story is so heartbreakingly beautiful... I love them and their story so much!

The love and connection that these 2 have is undeniable and you can feel the love coming from the pages!!

Jack is such a great character and I loved him instantly. Stella is that strong female lead that you love. She has all the sass and the backbone!! To have these two amazing characters that you love and cheer for makes this book so special!

Jack and Stella have that amazing love story that you want to read about. But it also has those parts that will break your heart.

On top of the amazing main characters you have the side characters you can't help but love and want more of!

This world that Corinne has created is like no other. I don't ever want to leave this world.
There are more books coming with this series and I can't wait to see what she does with them.

I am so full of emotions and I can almost guarantee you, most of this review is going to be about that because I am not okay. I am not. I feel like I am in this unparalleled reality that I had no clue about, and I feel like that reveals a brutally honest review. With that said, I have so many feelings coursing through my mind and I am trying to process each one individually because they are running together. I have found myself pacing around to try and get all these thoughts more simplified to where I can put them down so, please just bare with me.

I will read anything that this author puts out; that even includes HARD NO'S for me. I know how this author works. I know she allows her characters to speak through her, I know they direct their own stories, and I know 9x out of 10 she is going to wreck me and try to piece me back together. Let me be the first to say, if you think you know how Stella and Jacks story is going to end up, you are wrong. So very wrong.

Could Have Been Us is adeptly named. No other title says more than this one. This one swallowed me whole, and then spit me out as if I was nothing. I mean I shouldn't have been surprised because I was less than 3% in, and was sobbing like a baby. Less than 3% in and Michaels had my undivided attention. So if you think you are in tune with your feelings, you are wrong. So very wrong. Could Have Been Us will eradicate every emotion you thought you had and show you that LOVE, love is the ultimate gift. Yet a gift, that possesses the ability to decimate you.

I applaud this author, not only for her immense talent, but for taking Stella and Jacks story to a height that most people wouldn't touch with a 10 foot poll. Could Have Been Us is LOVE, and nothing but that, from storyline to plot, from the depth to the complexity of everything.

Could Have Been Us is life, plain and simple. Michaels showcased her best work to date, and she has her work cut out for her to reach the amazingness of Stella and Jacks story and I can't wait for it.

Oh, this book... Could Have Been Us tugged at my heartstrings right from the prologue!

Stella Parkerson fell for Jack- her brother's best friend- when she was just a little girl. When she turned eighteen, they had one night together, but went their separate ways afterward. But Stella and Jack never were able to forget that night or move on. Twelve years later, their past and their present meet up again, and they are forced to face their feelings.

Could Have Been Us may just be my all-time favorite book by Corinne Michaels. There was so much emotion involved with these two characters, and I felt and loved every little bit of it! Stella and Jack were so real to me~ and I so needed these two to find their happily ever after.

I cannot wait for Josh and Delia's story next!!

I read so many positive reviews on Could Have Been Us. It is said full of emotion.i agree. There are many emotion that pack the story.

For me, I can not putting aside the glaring hole in the story. It is the 12 years separation between Jack and Stella. There is no background of what Stella's father done to separate Jack from Stella. I can not really say separating either since both of them live in the same small town.

With that big huge secret between Jack and Stella, how can both of them act indifference?? Miss Michaels fails to bring the conflict. And about Kinsley, I feel she is a robot instead of human. She is also acting indifference toward Jack and Stella.

Through out the book, I keep waiting for some dots to connect the whole plot, and nothing. I know Miss Michaels wants to highlight the delicate POV on adoption. And she forgets to bring the romance forward.

Overall I still do enjoy this book OK.

The queen of romance! This book will have you laughing at the ridiculous characters one minute and crying the next, in true Corrine fashion. Stella is life. I love her fun take no crap , loving personality. Shes the girl you want to have a drink with. Stella is a women delt a crap hand, and has to learn how to love and move on. Jack, ahhhhhh what a swoony man. His love for Stella, knows no bounds. Both broken in their own right, heal through each other. The way these two chose to sacrifice their own heart for others in amazing to read. I love the back and forth these two have, and let's not forget the family. Great read. Cant wait for the next brother!

Well...well...well...Ms. Michaels, you have done it again. Roller.Coaster. That is what your emotions are on while you read this book. Heartbroken in chapter one (chapter ONE, people), laughing out loud in chapter 19, ugly crying in chapter 38 and then smiling like a lunatic in the epilogue. This book may be Michaels' best yet at delivering ALL.THE.EMOTIONS. Do yourself a favor and run (not walk) to download this one...you won't regret it.

4.5 Sacrifices Made Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
All the time, people make serious sacrifices. Sometimes not of their own choosing, but in the end, they do them for the better good. If ever there was a story about doing that, Could Have Been Us is the one telling it.

Corinne Michaels takes a difficult decision two young kids were forced to make and has them confronted with it twelve years later.
The circumstances are not what anyone would have imagined and the question is whether they will be able to rise to the occasion.

This is a love story between these two people and also a love story in parenting, loving children, and siblings. Ms. Michael knows exactly how to pull all of the heartstrings just tight enough to make us feel, she gives us people to care about and appreciate, too.

This had all the feels, was part of interconnecting books, and there is more to come.

If you read Return to Us then you know how it ended and like me have been chopping at the bit for Stella and Jack. Corinne does not disappoint. I loved how she weaved the beginning of their story with a little of Grayson and Jess's story leading up to that scene.

This was a beautiful emotional story. It gets you right in the feels. Even with all the emotion Corinne added a little humor to balance out the story.

Jack and Stella are so perfect together.  They have a love that has withstood so much and it's just beautiful.  I love them so much. Your heart will break and ach for them but in the end will be so full of love it will be overflowing.

And of course Corinne sets up for the next Parkerson and i can't wait for Delia and Josh's story. It's gonna be another emotional one.

Shelved as 'never-no-way'

I read the sneak peak I have found in my e-mail and I didn't like it at all. Then, I also read some reviews to be sure that this book was really not my cuppa.

Now, thanks to one reviewer who mentioned about it (TheBookPlatypus), I know that this book has one of the tropes I hate most. It may also be a trigger for some readers.

Think twice before uncovering the spoiler tag because it is a big spoiler.

Nope, this is definitely NOT my kind of romance.

"Read this one now" they said lol now here I am in a public place and people asking me if I'm ok lol and that was just chapter 1. That should have been my first clue. haha!

As usual Corinne brought all the emotions over and over again lol. but as always by the end I'm saying dang that girl can write a good book.

Jack and Stella's story was hinted at in Return to Us. I couldn't wait to get Stella's story. Jack is the best friend of Stella’s older brother Grayson. I love a brothers best friend story lol as the youngest with only brothers for siblings I totally related to this story. This book gives another point of view of some scenes great scenes from book 1. I loved seeing that kiss scene again. Poor Grayson lol.

I have so much to say on this book. lol I've typed and erased a few times lol but I can't do it without spoiling haha. So I will just say this is a must read for sure.

Another beautiful 5 star read from Corinne Michaels!

Where on Earth does Corinne Michaels come up with this stuff???? It's like she never runs out of ways to put my heart through the wringer, yet I readily keep coming back for more. I LOVED this story so much. I love that she can create characters, such as Jack and Stella, and use them as weapons to gut me, and then make it all better with a beautiful HEA. This book contains a story so heartbreakingly beautiful and completely unexpected that I am still at a loss for how I survived reading it.
Jack and Stella are two of the strongest characters I have read in quite some time. The secret that they carry with them is one that I never saw coming. The way these two characters find their way back to one another can only be described as kismet. If you crave angst with a side of heartbreak followed up with a delicious HEA then this book is definitely for you!

Oh it wouldn’t be a Corinne Michaels book if it didn’t tear out your heart and if your a regular reader of hers you’ll know there’s always tears but this unbelievable story should come with a warning - Full Box of tissues needed
When starting this make sure you have the time,
The time to devour because once you start there is no way you won’t want to read in one sitting yet at the same
Time your gonna need the time to take a little
Break to wipe those eyes and breathe ....
You know your in for one hell of a journey when your sobbing on the second page,
Totally unexpected plot , raw and emotional and it hurt but it’s also such a heartwarming story too because for all the pain Corinne puts us through she always delivers and makes it worth it.

Stella - what a woman she is, her strength and determination, her heart break and strong font - she will Leave you in awe!

Stella and jack have one of the best chemistry’s , it’s intense Passion and without a doubt these are going to be one of many’s top Corinne fave couples !

Its official! Could Have Been Us is my favorite book from Corinne Michaels! She has absolutely outdone herself! I was completed blown away with this book. The title of this book holds so much , after reading their story, it has a completely different meaning that I thought.

Jack and Stella's story was nothing like I expected. Instead of your normal brother's best friend romance, we were given an emotionally heartbreaking story of love and second chances. Jack and Stella's history starts years ago. In the very first chapter you will get your heart ripped out.
We see bits of overlapped from Return to Us, which helps with some questions I had about Jack and Stella. This book consumed me, I was left crying at parts and laughing at others. It was a perfectly written book that will stay in my heart for a long time. Its definitely one of my favorite books this year and deserves 6 stars!
All the Parkerson brothers are now in Willow Creek, so we get to see a lot more of everyone. The stage is set up for the next book and I can't wait to see what's in store for Delia and Josh. I can't wait to get our updates of first 2 couples too!

Best book of 2021! I absolutely loved this story and the characters of Stella and Jack. I took my time reading it to savior each moment and let myself feel the words as the characters did.
Stella and Jack spent a night together on her Eighteenth birthday that would forever change them. A secret that they held close to them while they lived their lives apart. Stolen glances whenever they were near. They were soulmates kept apart by never wanting to deal with their inner pain.
When Stella and Jack are faced with a tough choice they do what anyone in their position would. Put someone else first, and in turn possibly break their hearts all over again.
Stella and Jack have a love so strong that when they finally give in and let themselves love each other, it is stronger than anyone thought possible.
Could Have Been Us by Corinne Michaels is a story about love, loss, healing and above all else family.
This is a story that will tear at your heart, and then put it back together again. I highly recommend it!

NOW LIVE!!!!

This book consumed me - mind, soul and heart. And the angst. Oh dear God, the angst was so palpable I could feel it deep in my bones.

From the very first chapter, Corinne Michaels will pull you through the emotional wringer and you will come out on the other side a changed person. There is no truer love story than the one of sacrifice and selflessness.

From reading Return to Us you knew there were feelings and a secret love between Jack and Stella but believe me when I say you are NOT ready for their story!

With the background Parkerson sibling story arc still continuing, we not only see Jack and Stella finally become “Jack and Stella” but see more of what a vile man their father is. Of the choices he forced them to make all for the sake of the family name.

With a lovely set up for Josh Parkerson’s story (and one of my favourite tropes!) this was an all-consuming love story that would break the hardest of readers. Be prepared for your emotions to spill over.
