Best monitor I’ve ever used
5 Stars
Best monitor I’ve ever used
I’ve had this monitor now for a little little while and wanted to wait and use it for a while before making a review. Starting off got this monitor when it was for $449.99. To me for this monitor that’s a steal. It is 165hz with hdr and freesync but at 8bit. If you want 10bit colors you will need to drop it down to 120hz. But to be honest. They look exactly the same at 8-10bits. I’ve included pics of 8bit to 10bit as best I can on call of duty. Some might be able to see the difference but honestly I can not at all. So the extra money for the p model I can’t justice it for myself for that display port 1.4 to be able to do 165hz at 10bit colors. The hdr on this monitor is the best I’ve ever delt with personally but from my understand and research it’s not the best for the price. The game I’ve personally seen the best results for hdr is call of duty. Bfv looks horrible in hdr with this monitor and no matter the settings adjustment with hdr and not having hdr on in that game makes the experience way better. Destiny 2 with hdr is decent. Very dark in some areas but also very vibrant in others. Hrd in Star Wars b.f 2 looks good on any monitor so that game doesn’t count. But the colors on this monitor are absolutely outstanding! I’ve always gamed on tn panels. Benq 75hz, asus 144hz and acer 240hz all 1080p and I’ll never go back. This is my first ips panel and I’ve never enjoyed pc gaming this much until I made the switch to this. 1440p with free sync at 165hz is absolutely perfect. The 1ms responds time is lying and many YouTube videos about this monitor exposes them in this. But being it’s truly a 4/5ms it’s still plenty fast and coming from true 1ms responds time on my old panels I can live with it. The overdrive settings on speed in some games gives it that blur and discolor effect. But in cod it doesn't and that’s the game I need the 1ms times the most and it’s gets close enough. They should honestly change it. But my evga 2080 Super ultra xc is over chocked at 2100MHz on the clock and 9000MHz on the memory and it kicks ass and gets me pretty much 165hz on all games max settings that I play. Not all games. But close enough to take advantage of the 165hz this panel puts out. If you’re considering trying to get this one over the p model that’s up to you. They both have the same ips panel and put out the same lights and all. One you get d.p 1.4 and this one the d.p 1.2. And the other you get a better black equalizer over this one. And that’s it. I got my monitor for $449.99 And now I see it’s for $489.99 and now you’re getting really close to the p model Territory and might as well go that route being how close they are in price now. But if they lower the price back down I would get this over the p again all day long. The 8bit to 10bit colors are the same and I can’t tell the difference so talking advantage of that d.p 1.4 to get 10bit 165hz in game won’t make a difference for me at all. And being it cost more just because of that feature it’s almost a scam. But depending on what you do with your computer can help you decide on that. You can still do 10 bit on this monitor but you are just limited to 120hz. So if you edit photos or videos you don’t need 165hz during that and this monitor can do it all still. It just for gaming it should make a difference in. Hope this helps anyone while they try to decide. Oh and I have no black light bleed like some report or complain about. All I can say to those people is go game and work with a tn panel for 5 years and try complaining after that... Like for real people just complain about the dumbest things.. last thing I was worrying about when buying this. I just wanted some damn color in my games for onceEdit- so under further investigation with this monitor games don’t run at 10 but. Even at 120hz and even as low as 60hz games will not run at 10bit. You can try it for your self and see. If you have a secondary monitor hooked up open your Nvidia control panel and leave change resolution open so you can see it when in game. Set it to 10 bit and 120hz. Also open up advance display settings in windows and have that in view also on the secondary monitor. And now open the game and you will automatically see it go from 10bit 120hz to 8bit 165hz. I don’t know if the games are not designed for 10 bit colors yet or ever will be. But that makes the p model extremely worthless. Because I can surf the web and do my photo editing in 120hz 10bit. I don’t need a super high refresh rate to do those things. Just need the high refresh rate for gaming. I did dry turning on hdr in Windows and in game and when that is enabled it goes while in game for 8 bit to 8 bit with dithering. Which isn’t true 10 bit but is software to make it appear like 10bit even though it’s not. Some like it better over 10 bit and some rather have a true 10 bit panel. While I don’t know if this monitor is or not all I can say is I would like to figure out how to use 10 bit to try it out. This is why I couldn’t see a difference in my original review I made with the pics. It was in 8bit the entire time.Edit- coming up on a year now and it’s the best monitor I’ve ever had. Both my wife’s and my unit is working flawlessly still. I did purchase a ultra wide through lg “being aorus doesn’t make a ips ultrawide and only va ultrawide 🤮” But I’m already on my second one already... first lg came with a couple stuck pixels and bad color uniformity.. Had no choice but to return it especially at the price point.. Playing the lg panel lottery is real... plus the lack luster features is also a negative. In hdr mode on the lg you can only adjust brightness and sharpness and that’s it. Can’t change color temp or anything important.. With the aorus you have the freedom to adjust what you want to your eyes unlike lg thinking they know what’s best for your eyes and won’t allow you to adjust anything in hdr mode... But over all lg Is a okay monitor “and that’s it” just okay... the aorus is by far a better monitor if every department. Just really don’t like gaming in 16.9 anymore and can’t go back to 16.9 once I went 21.9... If aorus would actually make a decent ultra wide with a ips panel I would buy it in a heartbeat. But if you’re after a solid good 165hz 27” this aorus is hands down imo the best on the market. Lg can’t compete even with the lousy nano ips marketing b.s....

I just wanted some damn color in my games for once

Edit- so under further investigation with this monitor games don’t run at 10 but. I did dry turning on hdr in Windows and in game and when that is enabled it goes while in game for
8 bit to 8 bit with dithering. It was in 8bit the entire time.

Edit- coming up on a year now and it’s the best monitor I’ve ever had. This monitor was pretty easy to put together. The stand is quite premium and can handle all sorts of twisting, turning, rotating and does not wobble whatsoever. The rgb accents and strong triangular shapes make it a treat for those who don't have it facing a wall.

The screen is the best part though. It arrived in secure packaging with no dead pixels. Movies looked fantastic and games ran as smooth as butter. No stuttering, no lag and a whole lot of frames. The screen is also MATTE, meaning you will receive very little glare. This monitor does what its supposed to do, and it's additional features (noise canceling, interactive adjustment settings, gsync/freesync compatibility, hdr) make it well worth its price.

Beautiful panel with minimal back light bleed. Solid build quality and beautiful colors. Can only do 165 8bit or 120 and 10bit. Some people seem to be having problems getting the 10bit color to stick while gaming. Go to display settings and set to 120hz and apply that first BEFORE applying 10bit color. If you do them both at the same time it'll kick back to 8bit but stick at 120hz. If you have dual displays you can keep the display settings open on one monitor while the game is running to see how it adjusts while in game.

This is a quality IPS panel so the colors are great out of the box but when you have 10bit working properly it's just that much better. It's almost like a resolution improvement but for colors. It's subtle but the colors transition better making the whole image seem richer. I used to swap between 165 and 120 but now I just leave it on 120 10bit since leaving 8bit on accidentally would be a bit annoying, you'd know something looks off but you're not sure what. The only game I was really getting more than 120fps at 1440p was CSGO anyway. Also you're not really getting HDR with this but no Monitor is giving you real HDR at $400.

I've been using this as my main monitor for about 2 months now, and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. The OSD tool is great and allows customization for different game modes. The 165hz refresh rate is buttery smooth. The brightness is amazing and can be way too bright if you don't turn it down. Only negatives I have is some flashing in some games. That seems to be more about poor hdr performance for some titles rather than the monitor though as it only affects some games. The other annoyance is that HDR seems to force a screen refresh making the screen go black momentarily when moving to a second monitor or back. This should be easy enough to fix the global settings in nvidia but it hasn't been annoying enough for me to care to change it. Both of these issues seem to be software related and not the fault of the monitor itself.

I got this Monitor mostly for better graphics. I overall bought this because Linus tech proclaimed this to be the best monitor of the year (for the year it came out). He spoke highly on how great this monitor was at producing realistic colors, and they for sure do. The monitor overall has a quality build. This explains why she's so heavy. Like really heavy. The rgb lights are cool. But as Linus said, you ain't noticing it. I never be noticing smearing or anything. Overall one of the best 1440s out there. If you really care about colors, this monitor is for you.

I actually turn the brightness down when playing games and set it at 40 for regular content. The picture quality is amazing and the multiple refresh rates are great. I set it to 120hz since I have a 1070Ti.

The osd software is really easy to use and I prefer using it over the built in monitor controls.

My only wish is that the LED lights were brighter and could actually be used as ambiance light.

Puedes girarlo a 90 grados.
