About this ebook

She was his best friend.

And he was in love with her.

Then she showed up at his house, her ex suddenly out of the picture, and Luc knew he finally had a shot.

A real shot with Lexi.

But…she was hurt—absolutely devastated—and not looking for a relationship. Even though his heart was hers.

Even though he would do anything for her.

Even…if that meant convincing her to give love another chance.

Especially, if it meant convincing her to give love a second chance with him.

Oh, this one goes straight for your heart! I thought this was a excellent book and a perfect way to start this new series. An avalanche of feels, emotion and angst combine with drama to create a potent brew that goes down smoothly but burns once it gets there. My heart was honestly an aching mess as I read this book. Complex characters you feel for and connect with easily keep your attention focused and your heart invested in the game as Luc and Lexi's story unfolds. I am electing to post a forthright review.

Elise Faber’s BROKEN is the perfect start to the Breakers Hockey series. GM of the Baltimore Breakers hockey franchise, Luc Masterson, is in love with his best friend, Lexi Hallbright. Unfortunately, Lexi was married and works for the team. Then she discovered her husband cheated on her and is getting a divorce. Luc patiently supports Lexi, not wanting to make a move too soon. I like both Luc and Lexi characters. They are devoted friends who understand and care for each other. They both have complicated past. Luc is a great guy who pays attention to details. I love all the little things that he does. Lexi is a smart heroine. I enjoyed the soul searching they both did throughout the story. I appreciated how the book crossed over from the Gold Hockey series. Luc was the mentor of Charlotte Harris the GM of the Gold (CHARGING, Gold Hockey # 10). I love that she made an appearance in this story. BROKEN is skillfully written and thought-provoking. The story felt realistic and was heartwarming. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances and/or friends to lover’s romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

4.5 Star review of Broken (Breakers Hockey #1) by Elise Faber I was excited when I learnt that Elise Faber had a new hockey series coming out. This is Luc and Lexi’s friends to lovers story and I was hooked on the story from the first to the last chapter. I enjoyed Ms. Faber’s writing style and found Broken to be an emotional, well written story and one that ticked the boxes for me. Luc is the GM for the Baltimore Breakers whilst Lexi is the team’s lawyer. Luc has been in love with Lexi for a few years, but she is married so he can only be her friend. However when Lexi’s world falls apart it is Luc who steps up to be her rock. I loved both these characters separately but when they were able to finally get together they were awesome. I was so cheering for these two to get he happily ever after that they so deserved. This was a roller coaster of a read at times and one that had me on the edge of my seat at times. If Broken is anything to go by, then Ms. Faber has another hit series on her hand. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for the Breakers Hockey series.

About the author

USA Today bestselling author, Elise Faber, loves chocolate, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and hockey (the order depending on the day and how well her team—the Sharks!—are playing). She and her husband also play as much hockey as they can squeeze into their schedules, so much so that their typical date night is spent on the ice. Elise changes her hair color more often than some people change their socks, loves sparkly things, and is the mom to two exuberant boys.
