I really enjoyed it. It was realistic in many ways. The development of the plot and characters kept a great pace. The only thing that I would appreciate would be a better explanation of Alex's past. Unless that is to come later. Also, better positioning of the extra episodes. They felt out of place in some parts. Otherwise, it is a great read. The title let you know what you're getting into. I look forward to more!

I guess with a title like "Branding Her", I knew where the story was headed but wasn't ready for the ride. To a women who has seen more than one abusive relationship in my time, the character of Alex seemed to contain many hallmarks of a classic abuser. The end of this particular segment of the story points, alarmingly in that direction. Having never participated in a b/d relationship, I don't know if these types of difficulties are typical. What I do know is that this story creeped me out and I will not be reading anymore of it. That being said, the writing was very good and the lead characters had a believable depth. Use of British idioms in a story set in Boston, sometimes took me out of the story.

Lots of graphic stuff but actually a very good love story. it addresses that murky area in our community that addresses the difference between caring very deeply about someone and actually being "in love". We blur those lines in the lesbian community way too often. It is VERY POSSIBLE to love someone very deeply without being "in love" with them. It's a fine line we tread sometimes, but a crucial one.

This is the first time I have read this author. I am extremely impressed with her style.
The characters, Alex and Kaylee, evolve over the series. Importantly, they are believable.They come from totally different backgrounds, they have flaws as well as differing outlooks and opposing personalities. One so confident, experienced and controlled, the other more introverted and insecure.The relationship gradually builds up between them. Alex helping Kaylee to feel safe, which is extremely important to her.
They encounter difficulties on the way, which I won't spoil the story with now.

For me, the truly fascinating part was watching how the strong character helps the insecure one grow and develop. However this has a reverse effect on the strong one. She encounters feelings and thoughts that she deals with badly.The author deals with the control element that is introduced, in a clear and caring manner. Every stage is explained to Kaylee by Alex and you see their relationship grow. Unfortunately Alex crosses the line and their relationship is thrown out of kilter.

From the outset it was noted that both women had private history. You are introduced to a little bit throughout the stories and you become aware that somehow their past lives have an impact on this blossoming partnership.
I found the pace of the stories very credible. The timeline running throughout helps keep the stories anchored. The author also manages to take the reader through varying love scenes that are never rushed, unnecessary or tacky. Altogether, I consider the bundle to be an excellent read, easy to follow and compellin. i am definitely looking forward to the next in the series.

I really like this story, it is nice to read it in episodes, if you only have an hour to spare you can read a whole episode. I liked how their relationship develops in each episode. I am going to read the next book now.

There is a small part of the story at the end of 'Episode 6 - Jealousy' that I was a little uncomfortable with. But maybe that is just me..... *Spoiler* The sex scene in this story turned very uncomfortable (for me), where a character said stop (at the very last minute), but the other character didn't stop.

I have to say this... Alex Porter is a fantastic author and this series of books had everything that a reader needs to feel satisfaction... The storyline the word play the characters all gel to perfection and though some parts of it were a turn off for me like someone having a dominating dark side I read with the enthusiasm that the author generated to keep me spellbound... Now I just need to finish the series and see what happens but if you are reading this review then put every other book down you are reading and make this your number one choice.
