    Just got this Taylor 214ce-n nylon acoustic a few days ago. Delivery was ahead of schedule so thanks Amazon. Just in time for Xmas! It plays so nice and easy. Action is low and the fret board is butter. Nice tone on and off plugged. When plugged into my Fishman Loudbox, its exquisite and the sounds jumps at you bright and low equally. It's heaven for steel string guitar players because of the smaller width. I've played the traditional 2-inch width classicals and it takes a little getting used to, but this guitar just makes it so much easier. The soft gig bag is nice, but it would have been nicer if a hard shell was provided. Overall, very happy with the quality and tone. A new favorite in my collection and i do have other taylors, takamine, breedlove, and ibanez for my other acoustics.

    I was looking for a 'modern' nylon strung electro-acoustic guitar and considered many of the available instruments. There are the 'traditional' classical guitars derived from Spanish designs....very lightly built and sometimes fragile for a gigging musician. This guitar's specification is very appealing....Taylor are well respected for their originality and passion for making quality guitars with 'bright' and very usable tones....popular on the 'open mic' circuit where PA's and amplification can be a hit and miss affair. Braced appropriately for nylon strings and fitted with their well-established pickup and EQ system, the tone is excellent for response across the frequency range(the best I have experienced) and plays extremely well unplugged with plenty of volume....the original fitting of extra high tension strings no doubt contributes to this. The 214ce N sits in a range of nylon electros ranging in price from £700 to £4000 and delivers good VFM. Made in Mexico, it makes a refreshing change from the ubiquitous oriental build of guitars in this price range. A slight evidence of dust particles in the top gloss varnish and an almost invisible bridge mis-alignment are the only caveats to a definite keeper.....the supplied Taylor semi-hard gig bag is superb and looks terrific......
