Beyond our Forever

Rate this book
Some loves last a lifetime. Ours will live forever...

Our story doesn't end with happily ever after. For Bruce and I, it was just the beginning.
Marriage, the promise of happiness.
That was what everyone saw. However, that was nothing more than a mirage.
The reflection of the sun on the desert sand. Our story was imperfect, just as we were.
Now, I wander lost in a world I don't know, blurred between the shadows of routine and loneliness.
Despite that, I am determined to keep going. Playing with pieces of my heart I'd never thought I would risk.
I'm looking for who I really am, when a man I never thought I knew comes into my life, making me smile again. Helping me to believe again.
He shows me, for once, I can be myself and be happy.
And perhaps, we can be happy together, beyond our forever.

Marriage on the edge

This was angsty read. Her husband moves out and her supposed best friend tells her she say her husband with another woman kissing. She freaks out, he says there's no one else and it's just a long bumpy ride to the HEA. Her friend, who was not a friend, did something so despicable in this I was stunned. I didn't see it coming for sure. But it was awful. But Bruce, the husband was wonderful! I was glad that my first impression was so wrong. He was understanding and he loved her so much. I liked how he took care of the situation that the heroine found herself in and show her that she trusted the wrong person. I loved the epilogue too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 STARS

Susana Mohel has written another wonderful book that truly hits close to home. I felt emotionally connected to Ilythia and her struggles. Bruce and Ilythia's story is unapologetically real. I recommend reading this book. Beyond Our Forever by Susana Mohel is a MUST read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!!!

Mohel has penned a heart-wrenching second chance romance that got me hooked from the first page. She’s delved deeply into married life; the feelings of excitement, the thrill of getting to know one another, abounding enthusiasm for the future and how trails are faced further on. For sure, having chemistry isn’t the be-all and end-all. Raising children means putting oneself in second place, but when communication and that spark of attraction begin to fade, things spin out of control. Worse, losing your identity has its consequences. So, is unwavering commitment enough?

I’d made my mind up early into the story that Emilia was all out to raise my hackles. Her character is perfectly imperfect. But we all need friends, especially in times of crisis and turbulence, but this woman raised many questions I hoped the author would clarify as Ilythia and Bruce’s story evolved. Although I felt as if Ilythia and I had the same eye regarding friendship, she annoyed me no end when she couldn’t see through Emilia. But this happens in real life, doesn’t it?

For me, Ilythia had lost the plot somewhere along the way but she had her reasons. I couldn’t help but adore her motherly ways, her dedication, her unselfishness. Folks, our kids are our life; however, if you feel you’re not seen or appreciated by your spouse, what’s next? A road to disaster...maybe, maybe not. Keep your fingers crossed here because Bruce is the man I’d put my money where my mouth is!

Bruce. Ooh my–what a beautiful man, what an exemplary father. His confusion to what would occur was also mine. And it will take him a while to get down to the nitty-gritty and come up with a solution that would be if you like, a challenge. His wife is his world and he and I had to sit back and watch a train wreck happen.

Mohel has cannily used the before and after in two tenses which aren’t in the least confusing. I went with the flow, loved their kids, their gripes and their everyday hurdles. Told from Ilythia’s point of view, the author surprised me with an exceptional last chapter not mentioning the epilogue. No words of mine can describe how beautiful Beyond our Forever is. Mohel, you cracked it! Bravo!

A heart-achingly beautiful second chance romance about love’s ups and downs, it’s strengths and failures, and how when it’s strong enough you can always make your way back.

Susana Mohel has written a romance that not only feels authentic and raw, but it also gives hope and the the HEA that Andy romance reader craves. Idly this and Bruce’s story is one that resonates because it feels so real. It could be anyone’s story and that at it’s core is it’s real appeal. Bruce is anything but the typical hero. He’s simply a man attempting to love his woman the best way he knows how. He falters, but he never gives up. There are no over the top gestures; just a man doing his best, learning from his mistakes, and fighting for his true love. Susana Mohel wowed me with a story that’s realistic, relatable, and of course romantic. 5 stars.

❤️ Beyond our Forever is a second chance romance that through hope tries to overcome the relationship problems that arise during marriage. In this book, the couple's LOVE changes over time and what they try to do is strengthen the couple's bond to create a happily ever after.

"You're what I always wanted," he said, surprising me. He wasn't looking at me, his gaze was still lost in the distance. "No, that's not true. You are more than I ever expected".

Susana thank you very much for sharing this great book with us, I identify myself in a part of the story and I loved it too much that it takes a big part of my heart.❤️

When I start to write this story just one word came to my mind, REAL.
I wanted you to feel this one could be YOUR story. For me was a pleasure to develop a story so heart-wrenching, I cried a lot, also I laughed a lot, and I learned a lot.
Thank you for taking the time to read BoF, I hope you loved it as much as I do.

4.5 ⭐️ Susana Mohel has penned a story that I felt down to my soul. A marriage will have its ups and downs and Bruce and Ilythia’s was no different, it was so real. The author knocked Beyond Our Forever out of the park. It is an emotional story that is unputdownable. You follow Ilythia and Bruce’s journey from the beginning of their love story through to the struggles of marriage and their reconnection. It is a beautiful read that you do not want to miss.

4 Real and Raw Stars!

I received an ARC copy of 'Beyond our Forever' and it was also my first time reading a Susana Mohel Novel. I entered to win this ARC because I wanted to broaden my reading horizon, and I was pleasantly surprised. By the way, this is coming from someone that isn't a huge fan of second chance romance.

First, the cover is absolutely beautiful. Second, I'm not one to usually like books that go from present to past because it can get confusing at times; but, Susana Mohel did it gracefully without any confusion. Her writing style reminded me a lot of Corinne Michaels. So, if you love Corinne Michaels' novels you will also love Susana Mohel's as well. I really liked Bruce and Ilythia's characters. The story line was good, although I found myself a little bored at times, it really picked up at the 60% point of the book. (This is why I gave it 4 Stars) This novel in one word is LIFE!

I love how Bruce wasn't your typical cliche male character. He really loved Ilythia from the start and wasn't some Casanova. I really appreciated this! His character was so real. Like any man, he was absolutely clueless. Ilythia was sweet and innocent, and a lot naive. I really enjoyed their story and how they overcame their problems. It was real and something a lot of married couples deal with. Communicate and never give up, would be the motto.

One last thing, supporting characters were great except for two. The one character that irked me the most was Ilythia's "best friend", Emilia. She grinded my nerves, which I'm sure was the point of her character, but I really just want to give her the middle finger right along with Mikel. Rant done.

Thank you Susana Mohel for the ARC. I really enjoyed reading it and following Bruce and Ilythia on their journey to finding happiness again!

Every time I read one of Susana’s novels my heart shatters. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Her craftsmanship of another raw and real story gripped me from page 1 and I cried with every struggle the characters went through (and not just because I felt it was MY a story). We feel the pain of every tear, every angry word shouted, every spontaneous decision made out of revenge. You can’t help BUT relate to her characters because they ARE you.

Susana also tackles another challenge here with a plot twist I did not see coming. But let me tell you - it made me take a step back and reevaluate my own friends and acquaintances and their truth.

So now that I’ve picked up the millions of pieces of my broken heart yet again after reading Susana’s newest release, I’m using the lessons it taught me to avoid the dreaded plateau phase of a relationship. I want my HEA to remain a HEA.

THANK YOU Susana for another beautiful rendition of life!!

I was so excited to read this book, I remember when Susana was asking for a female characters name and I said Ilythia and told her the meaning of the name she loved it and said she would be honored to use it one her books. I knew this books was going to be special to me and OMG Susana I fell in love with both Ilythia and Bruce.

The story of Ilythia and Bruce takes you from Past to Present how they fell in love and how they fell out of love, To come full circle back in to the arms of each other, the twist and turns will have you turning the page in anticipation of what is to come next.

I have a few favorite lines from this book

When I told him my name was Ilythia, he didn't reply in the typical way, Some referred to the Spartacus series, other asked how to spell it, but the simple truth was my parent wanted something special for me, something that made me unique.

That's what I call the breakfast of champions, "he said, dragging his mouth over my torso.

Their is no risk, you're my rock, my refuge, my everything.

Thank you Susana for choosing Ilythia to be a female lead in one of your books, I am truly honored you have made me a very happy reader. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Full of heart-melting moments, this new story by Susana Mohel will give you all the feels.

This is a story that starts at the end and ends with a beautiful new beginning.  This is the story of what a marriage is really about.  It's not hearts and rainbows every day, it takes work, every day to keep the fires burning.  "Acta non verba" Actions not words it the main premise of this story.

This is about the Leighton family, from the outside, it's a picture-perfect family.  Bruce and Ilythia (love the name) are soul mates, they are each other's worlds. That is until forces and complacency start to eat away at the solid foundation that they have built.

I could so empathize with Ilythia's plight, to feel like she was losing herself in the roles she plays, mother, wife, but what she needs still is to feel like a woman.  A woman with a sense of purpose and goals and she felt like she lost that along the way.

Bruce is trying hard to give his wife what he feels she needs.  But it gets lost in translation.

It was a beautiful story full of poignant moments and a faith in true love and a soul mate.  Well done, Susana! I am so happy to be a part of this journey with you!

Beyond our Forever has Susana’s typical flair for a raw and outstanding story

A second chance romance for Thia and Bruce, this book gives you all the good and gritty that comes along with a marriage. The chemistry was evident between these characters that even separated you could feel their love for one another.

Unfortunately love isn’t enough for Thia and Bruce, after years of marriage the common and sad reality of routine, work & children has caused them to drift apart.

Bruce is ready for a second chance, he just has to convince Thia to give both him and their marriage another shot

Throughout the story we get to see their past and present. I loved seeing how these two came to be and fell in love and fell apart. It was raw and though not ideal in a love story, it’s so real and so Susana. She makes her story so true to life you can’t help but love them and the tears that go along with it. It was raw, emotional, sweet and had a bit of a twist.

No marriage is picture perfect and this book shows that even though there are struggles, there is Triumph too.

I have to say I was not expecting to feel so much when reading this story. I have never read a book by this author and I have to admit I am shattered as I write this review. I really have no words to continue. This was so heart shattering while I struggled with my ability to continue with this story. I was unequivocally taken with Bruce and Thias story. It was written with such emotion and stranded me within my soul for a moment before I could continue. I will be on the lookout for this author in the future and I have to stress YOU WILL NEED TISSUES. It will have every emotion you can think of slicing through you throughout this story. I can not stress this enough.

“Whoever walks on roses must also be prepared to tread on Thornes.”

I am always in Awe at how Susana can do such an amazing job and write her books. Each story tells of Triumph, of Faith over Fear, of how we must each reach for the stars. Each of her books has a deeper meaning than just a plot. It's always about fighting for what is right and what we need to overcome all obstacles that get in our way, to find our goals.

Beyond our Forever is no different than previous books but is filled with more raw emotion that will have you in tears and rooting for Bruce and Thia to overcome the mountain that is them. Both must either find their way back to what was once strong and forever or they will lose it all to the fear that tries to consume them. Can Bruce and Thia climb the Mountain that is before them or will the Mountain consume them both, crashing down like the waves of defeat?

Make sure you have your tissues ready for BoF, because it will take you thru so much emotion that will leave you begging for more.

Beyond Our Forever is the first story I've read by Susana Mohel and what a brilliant book to start with. I love her writing style and this story about love and betrayal kept me guessing throughout because I didn't know what to expect next. And then just when I got to the epilogue and thought I had it all figured out, the author threw in a final surprise before wrapping up the story beautifully.

For me though, it was being able to relate with Ilythia and the mixed feelings she had about the decisions she made after becoming lost and feeling like she wasn't 'seen'. It takes talent to create a character (or characters) that readers can relate with, and Susana Mohel has proven that she has the talent needed to do this. The story was so relatable at one point that I wondered if Beyond Our Forever was based on someone's true life story because it seemed as though the author was speaking from personal experience.

Beyond Our Forever was more than I expected and I'm so glad I took a chance on this author.

Beyond Our Forever by Susana Mohel is a standalone second chance romance.

I love Susana's books! They always take me on an emotional roller coaster and this book was no different. This book did keep me on toes with a little suspense thrown into the storyline. I really enjoyed the relationship between Bruce and Ilythia. Their story is a bit messy and had me in tears a few times.

I would highly recommend this book if you like second chance romances, contemporary romance or romantic suspense.

Second chance

The couple were having problems and were separated. They were trying to work it out but there were other forces at play trying to keep them apart. In the end they find their forever. It was an interesting read. Makes you second guess what you think you know about the story.

I don’t usually read romance novels but my mother did. I got this to read to her and remembered why I don’t read this genre! It was far-fetched and the ending seemed contrived...
