Redemption #6

Blurred Lines

Rate this book
Aurora Keller thought she’d lucked out when she decided to put down roots in Redemption, Tennessee. She had a new business, new friends, and a picture-perfect little house. There was just one problem, and it came in the form of her six-foot-three tattooed, muscle-bound neighbor from hell, who just so happened to be her best friend’s future brother-in-law. It really wasn’t fair that Satan’s offspring was so nice to look at.

Callum Morrison wasn’t a good man. Or at least that was what he’d convinced himself. After a series of bad decisions that had resulted in the worst years of his life, all he was looking for was peace and quiet. Too bad he bought a house right next door to the one woman he wanted but could never have. That was enough to make any man grumpy.

What had started as a war against two neighbors turned into something so much more.

Re-read.
May I just say that Rose needs to be dealt with swiftly: a fall off a cliff, death by cop (she's that obnoxious), serial killer victim, heart attack, quicksand...

Plus Pope still needs a book!

Better hero than most in the series. Prison must have shaken some of the stupid out of him.

Worst mother ever. Getting Rose as a MIL...fate worse than death.

Tense and sexy

Broken heroes break my heart every single time - it's just so easy to fall for them. That's definitely the case in this small town, enemies to lovers romance. This is my first time reading something by Prince, and it certainly won't be the last. I dove right into the middle of this series of interconnected standalones with no trouble, and I have no regrets. I loved the enemies to lovers friction paired with the small town charm, the friend group, and the sexual tension. It's a tense, sexy read that somehow manages to remain (mostly) light, even when tackling some difficult subjects. I swooned for this broken hero... though I also kinda wanted to shake some sense into him. It's easy to see the connection that sparks between this couple, and they just can't seem to stay away. This love story held my attention, and served as an excellent introduction to Prince's work.

The story follows Callum, a man who was released from prison a year ago, and is still fighting the demons that plagued him there. His sexy, infuriating neighbor drives him crazy in the best of ways, but he knows that he's not in the right headspace for love - nor is he worthy of someone so great. Aurora has always believed that the intense feelings between she and Callum are hate, but spending time with him makes her realize that he's more complex than expected. Yes, he drives her crazy with his surly ways and hot-and-cold mood swings, but there just might be a decent man hidden underneath his gruff exterior. A lovable man. Forced to spend time together at wedding festivities, Callum and Aurora work out their tension.

If you love a good guy who has lost his way, then you're gonna fall for Callum. He served his time, and it's changed him. He's still trying to figure out who he is now, and there are some heartbreaking elements to his past. I really felt for Callum, and it was easy to feel compassion for him... even when he was getting in his own way. There's plenty of friction between Callum and Aurora - not so much enemies to lovers, but more two people trying to figure each other out, and getting frustrated in the process. While they fight and struggle with their feelings, there's also something that draws them together. I liked the missteps along the way, and I always remained hopeful that they could work things out. There were one or two things that I didn't love (that Aurora is drunk during their first hookup, that one of their fights went a little too far), but I really did enjoy the story as a whole. I read it in essentially one sitting, and I'm left with a strong desire to read more of Prince's work - so that is a definite win.

THIS is the kind of Jessica Prince book that I have been waiting so long for!! I haven't liked many of the books in this series, mostly because the male leads are absolutely despicable, but Callum? My goodness he is everything. He was the only thing i really liked about Larks book, so to have him get his own story with Larks fiesty best friend made me so freaking excited!

So callum spent seven years in prison for stupidly dealing drugs for a creepy MC dude, and it's been one year since he's been home, but the man he used to be is long gone. Where he once was quick with a smile or a joke is now replaced with a scowl and walls so high, nobody's climbing those babies. That is until a certain curvy, opinionated and beautiful woman makes him feel something for the first time in so long -- but because of his past, he feels like he doesn't deserve anything worth having. So, being a dumb man, he tries pushing her away time and time again, only to realize he's so completely in love with her. *cue all my swoony feelings*

As much as I loved Callum, I ADORED Aurora. She was the perfect heroine and I loved how even when they were doing their hate flirting, she always stood up to anyone who tried to make Callum feel bad for how prison changed him. She saw a man who was doing his best to attone for his sins and keep the demons he has at bay, and truly saw the good in him that's obviously still there. Just because he made bad decisions doesn't mean he's a bad man. Plus their chemistry was so smoking hot, and their banter was so on point I felt like I needed a cigarette. And I don't even smoke. Much.

I could go on and on about these two, but I just loved their love so much! Their relationship is a fast slow burn if that makes sense. For me it feels like no time has passed while reading one of this authors books, and before I'm ready for it to be over, I'm already at the 70% mark and wanting my time with this couple to never end. This book is making me truly excited for what's next to come in this series!!

Also, imma need Jess to write a MC series. Pope and his brothers in leather NEED some good loving.

Another thing I loved: there was no catty name calling, or manwhore ways. Praise Jesus!! Callum was all about Rora from the second he met her and never even so much as glanced at another woman. Man, do I love it when Jess writes these types of heroes!!

Do yourselves a favor and one click this once it goes live!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

I'm not keep on this troupe, enemies to lovers.
It's a bit different, he doesn't think he's good enough so is frustrated as he likes her but can't get over his past actions but it's push and pull, mixed signals which I hate but she does set him straight.
Girl posse.
Humour and banter.
I struggled to feel it was this amazing small town when I still remembered how badly they all treated Lark, who is in a previous book.

Not as good

This book isn't as good as her previous books. Callum and Aurora's stoty was pretty boring. The cat was cute, the rooster was cute, but the chemistry between the main characters was flat. I skimmed through some parts just to get to the end. This book was a disappointment, which is surprising because I usually love this author. Not recommended.

I recently picked up a free copy of Guilty Pleasure and decided to follow up with these two. Aurora, was the feisty/supportive BFF of that h and Callum was the H’s younger brother that went to jail for selling drugs.

I really liked both Aurora and Callum in that book but was a smidge disappointed with this one. It was so dull! There wasn’t enough going on to fill the plot. The main couple basically play the push/pull/I’m not good enough for much of the book which got old.

Bottom Line- This wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t very entertaining either. The characters were alright, although Aurora lost her cool and felt a bit immature, and they both were flat. Callum's "issues" were surface-y and generated no drama or angst. I didn’t really feel their chemistry… and I can’t stand Callum and Clay’s mom… she’s the worst.

Aurora Keller loves her new town of Redemption, Tennessee. She has started her own yoga studio and found a house she loves which is quiet and in the country. What she doesn't love is her neighbor Callum Morrison, he is loud, grumpy and for some reason hates her. The only problem is her best friend is marrying Callum's brother and they seem to be thrust into each others path more often then not.

Callum has not stopped thinking about Aurora since he met her. The issue for him is he believes his past mistakes and prison time make him a bad choice. He has pushed Aurora away at every turn but when one moment leads to something he special he can't deny, can he put his worries aside to find a happiness he never thought possible?

One thing about the Redemption series that I truly appreciate is each story is completely different. I felt for Callum, but at times I wanted to throttle him he really is a grump. Another wonderful read by this talented author.

I wanted Aurora to find her happy after how she proved to be the ultimate ride or die for Lark, and I also wanted Callum to find his because he deserved a chance at the good life. So imagine how great I felt at the prospect of them finding that WITH EACH OTHER now! But it couldn’t be easy. Oh, no. Callum has a chip on the chip on the chip on his shoulder and he can’t bring himself to be decent to Aurora because he’s used to being dealt junk by this point. And he knows he’s not worth her time and effort. Or is he? And Aurora can tolerate a lot, but the love/hate games are giving her whiplash, so maybe alone is best. But maybe, just maybe, these two are truly meant to be?

We didn’t ignore the horridness that was Callum’s life for years here. Instead, his obvious triggers and issues are faced head on by the one woman he’s sure would shy away from them. And the fact that she defends him to others? Oh, that solidifies the fact that she’s destined to own his heart. If he doesn’t break both of theirs trying to do what he feels is “the right thing” first. And we also didn’t gloss over the misery Aurora endures, or her refusal to pretend that all is fine when she’s hurting. And I loved that so much. Because let’s face it, too many times in life or books, women pretend all is fine for the sake of a relationship or a crush. And Aurora is strong. She’s not having that. She can admit her feelings and her confusion, but she can also clearly communicate, and that’s gold to me. She can also help soothe some pain and a past that won’t let go, so Callum has to realize she’s just perfect, right?

Even with the somewhat unexpected twist, this story grabbed me and kept me wanting more time with Callum and Aurora to the very last page. The unintentional prank with Johnny Cash, the attempted rescue that wasn’t necessary, Tigger…all of the stunts and fights and steaming hot methods of working it out just did it for me. But now I’m worried about Wynn. And Laeth. And heck, Pope. However their stories unfold, I’m sure we’ll be in for quite the ride and some angst along the way. But I’m here for whatever comes our way because this series has sucked me in and has no intention of letting me go!

I freakin’ devoured this baby!

Not that it’s a huge surprise considering how much I love this series and the others that are connected to it, but, yeah…Aurora and Callum ~ and their friends and family ~ totally hooked me and kept me turning the pages until there were no more words to read.

I adored Aurora and Callum. Aurora is feisty, sassy, snarky and has a huge heart. She does tend to react before she thinks at times, but she definitely holds her own when it calls for it. Callum. This guy. I spent the majority of the book wanting to Gibbs smack him and hug him at the same time. He’s got a lot of things to work through, but beneath the grumpy outer shell is a guy with a golden heart.

As for their journey to their HEA. It was apparent from the start that their chemistry was off the charts, and as much growling and eye rolling I may have done, I got why there was so much push/pull between them. But even when they were at odds, they had a flow that was undeniable and truly saw who the other person was and could be, and despite quite a few bumps in their road, I’m happy with how everything worked out for them in the end.

This book is a great addition to the series. I was hooked from the start and loved catching up with everyone. There are some moments that could be triggers, but they were necessary when it came to understanding the characters and their growth in the book. As for the Redemption crew, Rose was a trip and I loved getting to spend some time with Willow and Stone, but Laeth is the one that interests me the most, so toes crossed that we get his book sooner rather than later, but if it’s later, I’m sure I won’t mind all that much.

Aurora's new neighbor is a grumpy, growly ass who plays ear splitting music at horrible hours, and makes her want to scream. But, as is wont to do, all the antagonism they share is masking something deeper and much more important - attraction, and eventually deeper emotions. But Callum's defenses are up, and Aurora's got her work cut out if she wants past them. Is this sassy, feisty woman up for teaching her man he's more than worthy of love?

Callum made some bad decisions in his past, decisions whose consequences left their mark on him. He doesn't want anything to do with his gorgeous and feisty new neighbor, wants her far away from him, but somehow she's sneaking past his walls. He doesn't think he deserves love, he definitely doesn't deserve an angel like Aurora, and when his past comes a calling, it only cements his thinking. Will Aurora let him push her away, or stand by her man?

Grumpy/sunshine is a thing, a great one in this story. Callum and Aurora are truly a pair of opposites in the very best of ways. He had a lot of scars, put there by his own decisions, but I love that no matter how hard he pushed her away, Aurora was steadfast. Sassy and feisty af, but steadfast. There was some angst, but all in all, a great story with two lovable leads who shared some intense chemistry.

Within a few words, Prince can whisk you away from reality and immerses you in a fictional world that feels so much more. The small towns feel like home, and the characters feel like friends who become family. You'll find an escape within the pages, and when you get to the end, your heart and mind will be lighter.

I absolutely LOVED Aurora. She was endearing, witty, and sassy. I can't think of anyone who would be a better fit for Callum. Her sweet and caring nature, her innate ability to read others' emotions, her sass, every particle of her being was as if it were there to allow her to love a man who had every reason to be broody and closed off. She was a little bit of sunshine mixed with a little bit of a hurricane.

Callum was broody, but it was more than that; there was a darkness within him that you could feel as if it were your own. He'd emerged from prison as a different person, and while some wondered where that Callum had gone, Aurora only knew the grumpy version he was now. I felt that was just another reason why they were perfect for one another.

Gah, the chemistry between Callum and Aurora was ignited the moment they met. Their angry quips and wicked retorts acted as foreplay, creating a painfully equisite slow-burn that became an unrestrained inferno of impassioned chemistry.

I enjoyed their banter; even when they "hated" each other, the underlying connection was palpable. The dialogue was some of the best I've ever read, as it went beyond simply being entertaining. It was the meticulous way they fed off one another's words, but perhaps more importantly, they seemed to forge a deeper connection in the words that were left unsaid.

Each and every emotion that Callum and Aurora have wriggled their way straight into my heart. There were times I could feel myself smiling right alongside them, and other times the pain was so intense that there was a searing pain in my chest.

Blurred Lines is a top 2022 read and my new favorite book in the Redemption series. An enthralling blend of fervent chemistry, a broody hero, a heroine full of sunshine and sass, extra witty banter, feels, and steam, all set in a world that feels like home and surrounds you with the unconditional love of this incredible group of friends.

It is so good to be back in Redemption, Tennesse, and amongst the crazy and fun characters from this world. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book because Callum had a lot of demons. Would I like him as a leading man? Would he and Aurora fit as a couple since they were so opposite? I need not have worried because this author created a wonderful story between these two and reminded me what it was that I loved about the way that she creates her stories.

From the very beginning of this story, I was invested in seeing how the chipper and Zen girl, Rora, was going to navigate living next to the grumpy hermit of a man, Callum. I loved that she held strong and never backed away from being a strong-willed woman. I liked how she didn't judge a man by the cover and instead was empathetic to the new man that he was instead of comparing him to the man that he once was. After years in prison, life for Callum changed. I like that the author explained how he went from being the life of the party to just needing to readjust into the person he needed in order to find a sense of peace. I could understand his reservations about being worthy. They were justified. Yet, that didn't mean that he didn't deserve to find love. I liked that there was an importance in finding balance and grounding oneself which tied into what Rora did for a career. I loved that these two showed how close the line is between love and hate. They fought passionately and that carried over in every interaction and every steamy encounter. Their chemistry was fire.

My only complaint was in how fast the ending came about and the drama that came with it. In all honesty, I am not sure that it was needed. Just Callum dealing with his inner demons and his actual nightmares would have been enough drama that needed to be solved to give the story something to work towards. Even bringing this certain character back as the pivotal moment would have worked better had there been more time or depth to that encounter. Instead, it felt crammed in.

It was great seeing the old gang, and also having a close-up of Lark and Clay getting their happily ever after. Off-topic, I loved the nicknames in this one, Rora for Aurora, totally fit her personality, and Button as her endearment from Callum was so much better than just "baby' or "kitten".

Oh, to love a Grumpy hero.

4,5 stars

Jessica Prince is my go-to author and for good reason. Reasons, actually, plural. I could name book after book here to prove my point, and Blurred Lines is definitely one of them.

Her small towns are simply adorable, her characters are funny and captivating and her stories are sweet, sexy, and enthralling.
No matter our expectations, she always manages to deliver.
And she did it again.

Guilty Pleasure was a book I intend to never forget, Lark and Clay warmed my heart deeply. And since then I've been waiting for Aurora's and Callum's chance at their HEA.
So imagine my joy when I found out they'd find it together in Blurred Lines.

Aurora was amazing. She was loyal, caring, sassy, and full of love and support to give. She was the life of the party, but also the outstretched hand to lift someone up or even just to offer comfort.
Callum was a changed man. Once the life of the party, now a grumpy hero, full and demons to slay and scars to bear. But he wasn't broken by any means. After everything he's been through, becoming a different man was par for the course, and that most definitely didn't mean he needed fixing.
Something Aurora beautifully understood.

Yes, he was undeniably grumpy. Yes, he purposefully antagonized Aurora just to get a rise out of her, and more often than not, they talked through arguments.
But can you blame a guy for pissing his sexy neighbor off when their interactions were what made him the most alive and the happiest he felt in years?

Behind his hard exterior and moody facade, there was a good heart- wary, yet craving love and acceptance. And Aurora was the right person for the job.
Despite their many arguments (and even because of them), Callum and Aurora's chemistry was crazy hot and the connection they shared was deep.
The lines were blurred alright, and they couldn't be happier about it.

Blurred Lines by Jessica Prince is the next book of her Redemption Series and...
OH SOOOO DAMN GOOD!!!
Aurora and Callum. Fire and ice. Oil and water. Day and night. Both couldn't be more different and when they become neighbours... let's say it's not a friendly environment.
Can Aurora and Callum forget their hateful feelings on the wedding of his brother (Clay) and her best friend (Lark)?

AWWWWWW!
Enemies-to-lovers is my absolute favourite trope! OMG and Jessica Prince just knows how to write it the right way!
OMG! AURORA AND CALLUM! THEY'RE SUCH AN EXPLOSIVE COMBINATION!
WOW!!! 🔥❤😍
I laughed so much! I needed lots of cold water to deal with their chemistry! PHEW!
WONDERFUL!
Gaaaah! I love this special kind of connection between the main characters!
Aurora and Callum are like cats and dogs. They can't stop offending each other. They like to hate each other.
What a couple! Awwww!
I loved to be back in Redemption and to have a few characters from the previous books in Blurred Lines too!
So this book totally stole my heart. Well... it was Callum. Let's be honest. 😍
Can't wait to read more from Jessica Prince! ❤

I love being back in Redemption and what better way than an enemies to lovers romance. From the beginning I knew this was going to be such a fun book. There was lots of heated tension, ridiculous antics and feelings galore.

Aurora is one of those heroines that you want to be friends with. She’s feisty and gives as good as she gets. She doesn’t hold back and treasures the people close to her. Callum has been through hell and back and doesn’t think he’s good enough. But his walls soon crack when he’s around Aurora.

There’s a long road with lots of bumps but worth every minute. There’s no denying the chemistry and connection these two have and I’m so happy they both got their HEA.

I look forward to more stories in Redemption.

Good to be back in Redemption, TN. Yes, this is a series, but I really think you could read this as a stand alone. Callum and Aurora's story is not smooth sailing. They have a lot to work through so there is some angst. Great storyline with all of the feels. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.

I love it when a grumpy, brooding tough guy meets his match in a sexy strong spitfire of a woman. The fireworks really fly when these two butt heads.
Legally Callum has done his time but in his heart and mind, there was no redemption for him. He would always be everyone's bad decision. When he bought the dilapidated farm house he hoped to fix up, he was shocked to find that his soon to be sister-in-law's best friend and the one woman he desired but refused to sully with his bad reputation lived next door. He decided to ignore and have as few interactions with her as possible. Of course who knew she would have such a negative reaction to his heavy metal music in the wee morning hours.
Aurora has relocated to the town of Redemption to be near her best friend and to start new. She has a yoga studio that is fairing well, a beautiful little home that is all hers but she now has a noisy, grumpy but a very sexy neighbor that will soon be her best friend's brother in law. Well as they say, let the games begin!!
Are you ready to laugh, cry, love and be entertained by these two? I could not put this one down. The back and forth is addictive.

5 When War Turns to Love Stars!!!

I’ve been waiting for Aurora’s story since I first met her in this series and to have her paired up with Callum is absolutely perfect… talk about opposites attracting. These two couldn’t been any different than oil and water. But you know what they say when there’s so much tension and animosity between people; it’s an undercurrent for how passionate their love could be and that’s exactly what we get with this amazing story!!

Aurora is my kind of girl. She’s sassy and has no problem speaking her mind especially when it comes to her next door neighbor who is shaping up to be the bain of her existence. And with all the attitude she’s throwing around Callum, you’d think he’d want to stay several thousand feet from her, but alas, it’s her feistiness that makes him want her that much more!

And as much as Aurora finds herself unable to stay away from this infuriating man, their path to an HEA is filled with many ups and downs a lot of them coming from Callum’s past. There are moments in this book that literally broke my heart because of his PTSD. And while these moments may have also broken Aurora, she was still there for and with him every step of the way in helping him heal. Aside from his brother, Callum hasn’t experienced this type of love and caring in a very long time.

I love the way their story is told. Ms. Prince doesn’t back away from the difficult moments and conversely, we get to experience the passion these two have for each other. Their sexy times are literally fan inducing they’re just that smoking hot!! While I was expecting a level of suspense in this book, the twist we got, was a little unexpected but worked for Aurora and Callum’s story. I’m pretty sure I’ll never get tired of visiting Redemption!

What happens when your best friend's gruff closed off future brother in law moves in next door? Well you go to war! The banter between Callum and Aurora is fun to read! Aurora is fun loving and loyal. Callum is having a hard time adjusting to life again. While trying to show his family he is ok, he closes himself away and creates beautiful furniture.

Aurora tries to help Callum and sticks up for him with his family. Callum is trying to stop having feelings for the little spitfire, because he thinks he’s not good enough for her. So of course he’s hot and cold to her and Aurora has had enough. I love that Aurora fights for him to heal and move forward. She doesn’t let him wallow but forces him to communicate. A well written love story between a hot gruff alpha and a fun loving heroine!

The story has twists and turns that I couldn’t put it down. We get more of the side characters and I can’t wait to read their stories too! I want Laeth, Winn and Pope to get their HEA.

Jessica Prince has done it again , I'm such a huge fan of the author she has written some of my favorite books including Blurred Lines . This is book six in the Redemption series it can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend that you read the the first stories or read Guilty Pleasure it's book four because the hero is the brother and the heroine is the best friend of the heroine and you will run into some spoilers if you start with this one . The characters were really likable and they drew me into the story were I wanted to know everything about them . Aurora is such a likable heroine she has so much strength and just stands up for those she feels protective of . My heart really hurt for Callum and just reading his story and knowing what he went through he also shown a lot of growth through out the story there were times that he really upset me but he made up for it in the end . I can't wait to read who's next in the Redemption series and I can't wait to see more from the Redemption couples .

This whole series has been a lot of fun to read, and Callum and Aurora’s love/hate journey was no exception.

Nothing better than a feisty heroine that takes no crap like Aurora to give the sexy but very broody Callum a run for his money!

These two definitely start out as enemies, but regardless of how much they fight, the underlying chemistry is undeniable. Their interactions are everything from angsty to steamy and the entertainment factor is high! I have no doubt you’ll enjoy their bumpy ride to a happily ever after as much as I did.

This was an okay addition to the series for me. For Aurora and Callum, it was slow. I mean slooooow romance. It's a love hate, but not much happens with them for like 70% of the book. Kind of meh. There was a lot with Lark and Clay from book 4, which I happened to love it worked for me, but I could see how that'd irk some.
Still the last 20% of the book was exciting and great to read. It could have easily been stretched out to last throughout the whole book, but oh well. Still pretty good.

Now, I'm excited for a book on Holton for some reason.
