Spoilers ahead (reminder to myself)

Shane had better show some damn backbone because this man walked out on his child....I don't care how attractive he is
Jensen needs to have been celibate during the time apart. He doesn't deserve to be out there having sex while Shane is left struggling with their kid....but given the author I'm expecting another resident of Manwhoresville who upon his necessary return realises how much he wants the h(sorrynotsorry).....let's not forget he left his child behind!!!

I'm hoping this author pleasantly surprises in this one......#fingers crossed

It's okay.

This is a secret baby with a difference story as the Hero left the heroine when she was heavily pregnant.

As with secret baby books there has to be a really, really good excuse for not being involved in a child's life in my view so I was a bit skeptical about this one.

I think one of my issues with this type of troupe is they focus on the feelings of the Hero and heroine but don't seem to deal with the impact of a child missing X amount of years of having a parent in their life.

There are also the emotional issues the mother has to deal with, having the child alone, managing as a single parent and the financial impact.

The reasons why he left (spoilers ahead) do sort of work.
They are quite young so allowing for no handling the situation with adult skills like communication which he definitely should have done.

The Hero suffers a violent childhood at the hands of his father, he grows up with a quick temper and often gets into fights.
On the night he leaves, he is in a really bad mood due to interaction with his father and goes to a bar, drinks too much and starts a fight.
He gets arrested and almost kills a man.
His choices are, egged on by his father, to go to prison or go to the military.
His father promises to arrange, legally, financial provision for his child.
So he disappears into the military.
While there he gets help with his temper etc so returns a better man.

Dual POV.
Chapters from their past and present.

Prologue.  They meet when they are younger.
The heroine helps her aunt clean the Hero's family's rich home.
"I stepped farther into the room, ignoring the discarded condom wrappers that littered the floor and nightstand beside the bed"
This leaves the impression prior to meeting the heroine, the Hero is a man-whore type.

When they first meet.

"Find some other girl to screw with. I’m sure it won’t be a problem for you.”
“Not interested in any other girls,” he said, his voice low and raspy, causing goosebumps to break out along my arms.

The Hero thinks 'I’d had plenty of girls. Girls who got off on being with a bad boy, girls who thought they could “heal” me, girls who were after my family’s money. But I’d never wanted to make a single one of them mine in the way I wanted to make Shane.'

He’d pursued me relentlessly, with a single-minded determination I couldn’t help but admire.
Once he meets her there is no-one else. ( In the past).

During separation

The heroine says...
There were even some that I took to bed. Those experiences might not have rocked my world to its foundation, but they’d been pleasant enough. After all, I wasn’t looking for that kind of chemistry.

I didn't see anything about the Hero and if he was with anyone else, as far as I noticed it's not discussed at all.

Liked it well enough

Jensen and Shane both had terrible parents. Jensen's parents were neglectful and abusive and Shane's parents abandoned her in the care of her aunt and uncle. They were young and starting a family when Jensen ups and leaves Shane with a newborn baby. She's had to struggle working two jobs to care for her son for over four years when Jensen comes back to town to win her back.

I thought the story was good, but didn't tug at my heartstrings like some of her other books. I'm more interested in Shane's brother's story (Stone). I'm hoping he gets together with the very shy receptionist from Elite Security.

This was a decent read. It didn’t get me in my feels though. I felt is was missing something. I didn’t mind the “past” chapters...I think I wanted more “now” chapters. I didn’t feel that pull between the main characters. Shane and Jenson are likable enough for me.

I think since this is a story where the H knew about the baby before he left would have made for a more dramatic return and/or redemption. I expected a little more angst with the reconciliation as he left knowing she was pregnant and then returned almost 5 years later. Shane said some things to Jenson that was spot on about how he can’t come back and make decisions about their son when he hasn’t been there. I was like hell yeah...let him have it. But then she would need space to calm down or her Aunt Caro would come and make her see a different side. I wanted the h to be pissed a little longer. I wanted to see her rage at him. Maybe I’m bloodthirsty...who knows. I just wanted more confrontation between the H and h regarding the abandonment of Brantley (their child). However, overall it was an enjoyable.

5 year separation
No OW/OM drama
No mention or thoughts of OW for H during separation.
h was not celibate.
Not a secret baby trope.
Shitty Abusive parent (H)
Abandoned by parent (h)

Shane's first and only love is back in town and she's been doing her best to avoid talking to the man who tore her young heart to pieces all those years ago. But she knows eventually she'll have to interact with him considering he's the father of the true love of her life, her son Brantley, but she's putting it off for as long as she can. She really does have walls around herself, though, so she should be good to go, should be good at deflecting anything he might want from her aside from visitation with Brantley. But what if the love she felt for him all those years ago never died, and what if he possibly had a good (not good enough though!) for walking out on them? Can she find it in her heart to forgive him and give him the second chance he seems to desperately want?

I've have been absolutely loving the Redemption series! Each story and each couple are perfect for each other even if their journey is bumpy, filled with pain and heartbreaking emotions, and Bittersweet is no exception to this theme. But I think it just may be my favorite yet. Why? One word - Shane. She's such a strong, amazing heroine, a fantastic mother, loving friend, and so independent and tough that my heart hurt for all she had been through. Eventually I fell for Jensen, but let me tell you...it took awhile because I was so pissed at him for ghosting Shane. Once his reason was revealed, I still wasn't feeling it, feeling him, but by the end I can safely say he had earned his redemption, even if I may have never thought he was quite good enough for my girl Shane. But because she still loved him, he got a pass from me. Aside from possibly feeling Jensen didn't measure up, I loved Bittersweet. It's emotionally intense, it's passionate, and the chemistry between this couple is red-hot. A top notch second chance love story.

Oh yes another Jessica Prince book devoured.

I've been waiting for Shane's story and was so excited when this hit my kindle.

Their beginning was I'll say both entertaining and sweet in a way that I knew I would want these two to find one another after time apart. Now that being said I had tons of questions as to why they were apart to begin with and what happened all those years ago. Jessica of course answered them and man oh man did it hit my heart.

Now it was really just a matter of would Jensen be the man that Shane needs him to be. And could Shane forgive him after leaving the way he did. Those answers had me glued to the pages, they had me loving every single part of this story. They had me falling in love with this couple not once but twice.

A great second change love story that will have you feeling all the feels.

I feel really disheartened by this because Jessica is one of my all time favorite authors, but this book just did not do it for me. There was some definite cute/adorable/swoony moments, but as a whole it just felt there was something missing, and it lacked that certain level of emotion that JP usually brings to her book.

So Shane and Jensen fell in love when they were really young -- the forever kind of love, but it was torn apart and left Shane pregnant, alone, and heartbroken. Seven years later Jensen is back and ready to claim his family as his, but is it too late? Will he be able to get Shane to understand why he had to leave, even though his heart was broken in the process as well?

So what I did like:
- the son was hella cute. The "I'm fines!!" Cracked me up every single time.
-Shane. I loved how strong she was, how amazing of a mother and friend, how she didn't cave as soon as Jensen wanted her to, how she fought for herself. That was beautiful!
- The relationship between Shane and her Aunt & uncle
- The past couples!!
- The flashbacks interwoven with the present was nicely done. I usually don't like the back and forth timelines, but JP nailed it here!
-STONE.

What I didn't like as much:
-Jensen.

I know, I'm sorry. Like I said, he definitely had his moments, but there was just a disconnect there for me. And his reasoning for leaving in the first place just didn't set right with me. He had so many options of what he should have done, and the fact that his past with his father was left unresolved bugged me too. And then there's his relationship with Shane.. I don't know if I can put it into words, but there was just something off about them. And it bugged me that it was never clearly stated if he had other women during their time apart. It may make me a hypocrite, but I loved that Shane didn't stay celibate. I'm all for women having a life/owning their sexuality despite their men disappointing them and breaking their hearts. Women shouldn't have to stay locked in a tower just because of a man's (wrong) decision. Plus you rarely see men abstaining, so yeah. I'm so here for that. Maybe it was because I didn't start truly feeling their connection until about 80% in, but Shane and Jensen just didn't do it for me.

I did love all the appearances we had of Stone. I have loved him ever since Ravage, and I NEED him to get his own book! I love that man so much!!

Even though I didn't love this book as much as I wanted to, I still adore Jessica and will definitely continue reading her books!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

Shane Hendrix grew up knowing that every person she has ever loved will inevitably leave. That is, until she meets the boy who promises to give her everything she didn't know her heart desired... only to break her worse than ever before.

Jensen Rose made the biggest mistake of his life when he left Shane and their unborn child to join the military. But now he is back in Redemption for good, and he has a new mission... win back his family.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bittersweet was a second chance romance that was heartwarming, sweet and emotionally transformative. Shane and Jensen have always meant the world to each other, but after Jensen abandons his family, going back to the relationship they once had is virtually impossible. For the good of their son, Shane agrees to let her ex in, little by little, but promises to never again trust the man who once shredded the last remaining pieces of her heart.
Shane was already an emotionally guarded person after the lessons she continuously learned at a young age... everyone she loves leaves. Meeting Jensen, she learns to let go of her need to keep everyone at arms length, and  for awhile, their love is enough. But when Jensen commits the worst offense and vanishes from Shane's life (while she's PREGNANT!!), the walls she has perfected building go up stronger than ever before.
Jensen came from a privileged and exceedingly terrible family. Meeting Shane he realized immediately that she was the one for him, and he set out to convince her to give him a chance. Now, with his return to Redemption, Jensen has to work even harder to convince Shane to give him a second chance after the way he so callously left her.
I found this book an incredibly enjoyable and engaging read! Shane was a strong and admirable woman who worked hard to provide her son with a happy and secure life. Jensen was a man who was once ruled by his inner demons, but finds the strength to overcome his inadequacies. But after 4.5 years of no contact and missing out on the beginning of their sons life, Jensen has a lot to make up for to regain his family. And while Shane takes awhile to trust in Jensen, I still think she forgave him way too easily for his part of their separation!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I am a bit mixed on this review and seem to be in the minority with my less than perfect star rating. Everyone knows that I am a huge fan of this author. Each book seems to get better and better but for some reason, I found myself struggling with this book. It was missing so much of the details that I have come to love with this author. Even the writing until around 75% felt different for me.
The flashbacks seemed to take up a good portion of the story which bummed me because the story needed that time. I almost wished that the flashbacks had been told in conversation time or moments were they were fighting and hashing it out as to why they were mad. Before I knew it they were back together without really having had that many present together moments because the flashbacks had taken up so much space. I felt the relationship between Jensen and his father never really got ironed out the way that I expected it too, especially, after it had been such a pivotal part of the backstory. The critical climax of the story came at around the 95% mark which didn't leave much room for it to be cleared up and resolved, nor did it give much room for an ending. All in all, I just really struggled because this isn't what I have come to expect from this author. Perhaps if everything hadn't felt so rushed and more emphasis had been put on the present once it started then it would have had the chance to take off. It just felt like the moment it started getting good everything was too rapid and then it was over.
None of this review is meant to be disparaging to the author. I would never want that because I cannot do what she does. The storyline had so much potential. It is important to note that even though there were areas that I struggled with, there were some outstanding moments. I loved it when Jensen went all growly and over-the-top towards Shane in that sweet spot of the story when they finally were "together" together in the book. The steam in this one started later than I was expecting, but then I think that again had to do with the flashbacks, although once it was there it was hot.
Even though I struggled, I am rounding up from 3.5 stars to 4 stars because there were trademark Jessica Prince moments. I still will be looking forward to where this series goes next, regardless, of whether it is Hope Falls or Redemption.
I have been a Jessica Prince reader for a few years now, dating back several series. She's definitely an author I sign up to review for without reading the blurb. So having read the other Redemption books, I knew that Jensen and Shane had a history, and this would be a second-chance romance. I disliked Jensen before I even started reading Bittersweet, just based on what I knew of him from the previous books.
Well, mind blown! Bittersweet is the kind of second chance romance that gives you all the feels. Strong heroine, groveling hero who knows he did wrong and won't let the love of his life slip through his fingers a second time without a fight. But once I got to know Jensen's backstory -- I changed my tune about the guy. Yes, leaving Shane when she was pregnant and disappearing for 5 years was a dick move. And I am SO glad that she was strong and didn't fall at his feet when Jensen first came back to town. She really made him work for every morsel she gave him. But rich kid Jensen grew up in such a horrible situation, that it really made me feel for him. And I understood why he left Shane the way that he did.
This second-chance romance is full of so much heart. It wasn't easy to read at times especially in the flashback chapters about Jensen and Shane as teenagers. But the love that Jensen and Shane share is a once-in-a-lifetime love at first sight kind of love, and that shines through right to the very end and that HEA.
I love this series and can't wait to see which lady manages to have Stone fall to his knees! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
line
'Bittersweet' is the third book of the 'Redemption' series by Jessica Prince.
This was a new to me author and I am definitely shocked at how much I liked this slow burn second chance Romance!
The chemistry between the main characters was amazing and the plotline was good. This author stole my heart and I would definitely be reading more of this series now!! A terrific take of a girl who never stopped loving her man , and how God has given them a second chance to mend their relationship. But is it really that easy?? Especially with the doubts between them and not to mention so many secrets too!
I loved the slow burn Romance in this book and this one is a definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there!!
This small town romance warms the heart on a wet Saturday afternoon. Back in Redemption, Tennessee, Shane Hendrix works hard to keep the roof over her head for her and her son Brantley. She spent the last years trying to forget about Jensen Rose, the father to her son. He was seen as the typical 'rich' kid in school but no one knew the demons that he had to battle. He has now returned to Redemption and intends to win back Shane's heart and forgiveness.
As Shakespeare wrote 'The course true love never did run smooth' and this was certainly right in Shane and Jenson's case. Jessica Prince, once again brings tears of sadness and laughter together in one story and my heart broke.
The cutest person in the book is Brantley who inched his way into my heart. This is the third book in the Redemption series and it has been a pleasure to return to this town to meet some old and get to know some new characters.
As usual, Jessica Prince leaves me wanting MORE!
Second Chance
I love reading second Chance romance, and Jessica delivers with the right amount of angst to keep you on the edge. Throw in the single mom angle and I’m HOOKED!
When Jensen our lead left unexpectedly years ago he left behind Shane and his unborn child. He thought he was doing the right thing, protecting them but what he didn’t realise is that the safety net he’d thought he set up them never happened.
Shane loved Jensen, she loved the life they were creating. It wasn’t easy but it perfect for her. When he left mysteriously with no word she was shattered. Raising their son Brantley became her life. It was a struggle but this little boy was her world.
When Jensen returns back to Redemption he’s going to have his work cut out for him. Not only trying to win back the only woman’s he’s ever loved but also to face the demons that made his life hell.
Great characters and an easy read. Fast pace and a heat factor that sizzles.
It’s a yes from me.
I adored Shane and connected with her down to my core since I too have the same fears ingrained in me to keep everyone at a distance, not from the same circumstance but the result of keeping our hearts guarded is as much a part of me as it was Shane.
Jensen and Shane had an all-consuming chemistry the mistakes that led to heartbreak and years apart couldn’t diminish. I respected Jensen immensely for the way he came into town and he started a relationship with Brantley while slowly rebuilding the foundation by rebuilding the trust that had been obliterated between he and Shane all those years ago. Although it may have been Bittersweet he paved a solid road back to Redemption to win his second chance with Shane.
Jensen and Shane burrowed their way deep into my heart and stole the place of my favorite Redemption couple. This book tugged every single one of my heart strings while bits of the past broke my heart and the repercussions of the past shattered it continuously without mercy the present and the determination Jensen showed in his goal to win back the only woman he ever loved mended those shattered bits of my heart.
The balance of sizzling chemistry, witty banter in the perfect increments to alleviate some of the highly emotional moments, dirty talking alpha and a stubborn, sassy heroine made this my new favorite Redemption novel.
Shane Hendrix had kept herself close to herself, rarely would she let someone in. When she meets Jensen Rose she believes he is the bane to her existence. Jensen is everything she is not, rich, spoiled and arrogant and he has made it perfectly clear he is interested in her. It takes but Jensen wins her heart until one day he walks away without a word.
Five years later he is back in Redemption Tennessee and wanting to be a part of his sons life. He also wants Shane back but he shattered Shane's heart and she is not so willing to forgive and forget, can she learn to trust Jensen again?
This story goes back to the beginning and vacillates between the past and the current situation. I was stunned how the story unfolded, it was not at all what I expected and I go back to the first book Bad Alibi when it's announced that Jensen is back. Shane is such a strong heroine, she broke my heart at times and yet her strength makes her one of the strongest characters in this authors story. Amazing story that you will need your tissue for. Look forward to more in this series.
This is an epic second chance love story. It will pull on the heartstrings and give you all the warm and fuzzy feelings. Jessica weaved an absolute beautiful love story filled with angst, heartbreak, love and redemption.
I can’t get enough of this series and each book just gets better than the last. I thought Jessica couldn’t top the other two but then she surprises me with amazing story. This book had just thr right amount of steam and swoon mixed with a little suspense and lots of emotion to keep you entertained till the very end.
Once again Jessica set us up for the next in the series and I can’t wait for more in the small town.
When I think I have a favorite book, Jessica Prince goes and proves me wrong.
I'm a sucker for a second chance with the good, old groveling, and this book had it in just the perfect amount.
I wanted Shane and Jensen's story since Bad Alibi, and it was oh so worth the wait.
Shane, Jensen and Brantley stole my heart one page at a time. I knew I'd love them, but it surpassed my expectations.
Shane and Jensen were way more than high scool sweethearts. They were partners, equals, the one for each other in a way no young adult would ever know how to be (even grown adults for that matter).
The intensity in their feelings was palpable and undeniable. They were forced to grow up from a very young age and that molded them as their own person and as the anchor for each other.
They were dealing with demons, rejection, pain, but also loyalty, unconditional love, and so many changes that come with life but also with their own choices.
But that much baggage (either good or not) comes with a price and sometimes, playing with the cards you were dealt forces you to make mistakes, even if the intentions were the best ones possible.
Jensen can totally relate to that.
Life hasn't been easy for either of them, and there is so much resentment, questions left unanswered, the sense of betrayal. But there was also this undeniable love, this power that pulled them towards each other, this chemistry that was way stronger than anything they've ever felt.
Shane is this incredible, resilient and hard working woman. I've developed such a huge girl crush on her. It was enpowering watching her dealing with life, loving their son, standing up for herself but also opening up for love and being vulnerable again, despite all odds.
Jensen was the ultimate alpha. Intense, hot, protective. Also loving, devoted, caring and with the mesmerizing hability of both killing you with his own hands and engulfing you in his arms to protect you from the demons around.
Shane and Jensen were powerful apart. But together, they were unstoppable. A force to be reckoned with.
And I couldn't not tell about Brantley. Oh my, I'm so in love with this little man. Rambuctious, loud, full of energy and love, so sweet and smart, so adorable and funny.
He was totally Shane and Jensen's baby. And the more I think about it, the more I realize how real and believable they were.
Another thing I loved (and I always do when it comes to this author's books) was the secondary characters. They brought the perfect balance to the book, coloring the pages with variety and fun, but never taking attention from the main characters and the plot.
Once I started this book, I just couldn't put it down. I needed to see the end, but I also dreaded the last page, because now I'm in a deep book hangover and, being the brat I am, I want more from this author asap.
She is just that good.
5 They Get Their Second Chance Stars!!
I’m SO IN LOVE with Shane and Jensen and their story!! If you’ve read the other books in this series, you know who Shane is, and if you haven’t read them, why not?!?!? Shane is besties with Poppy and Farah and we’ve received hints about her story in previous books but this book lays it all out and my heart was literally breaking for this couple!!
They were young when they fell in love and it wasn’t insta-love that they would admit to anyway. They come from such diametric pasts that they should’ve never been in the same circles, but sometimes we get something we didn’t even know we were looking for and with these two this is exactly what their love story is about!
I loved how Shane wasn’t jumping up and down to give Jensen the second chance he so desperately wanted. Don’t get me wrong, she loves him, but the pain he inflected on her five years ago is something she’s not sure she can get over. And it’s not about just her, it’s their son Brantley too. But never underestimate a man on a mission and this is a mission Jensen Rose will not fail at!!
This book held my heart in it’s hand the entire time I was reading. There’s so much pain in Jensen’s life and when it all comes to the surface I was near tears. I completely understood the what’s and why’s of his actions and was totally rooting for Shane to understand and give him and their love another chance because if two people ever belonged together it’s these two.
Ms. Prince takes us on a journey of love, blinding chemistry, pain, angst, and ultimately forgiveness with this latest book in her Redemption series! I loved every single page and as is usual when I turn the last page with her books, I’m ready to start all over at the beginning again! I don’t know who’s next but you can bet your bottom dollar the minute it’s available I’m going to be one-clicking!!
***5 Stars***
I FLoved this book.
It’s really that simple.
I FLoved it. It pushed all my romance buttons in the best of ways and made my heart all kinds of happy and has me wanting MORE! (Which isn’t really a surprise at all, but needs to be stated).
I adored Shane and Jensen...Shane just a tinsy bit more, but still, these two were a lot of fun. Shane is hard working, strong, independent and just a really good woman. Her heart has taken a beating over the years, and she does tend to have walls surrounding it, but once she considers you hers, she will do anything for you. Jensen was a surprise, a good one, but still a surprise. He is all kinds of protective AF alpha male, but he’s got all kinds of demons riding him hard and it kind of messes with his head and heart.
Their journey to their HEA was a mixed bag of fun. We have small town romance where everyone is all up in each other’s ~ which is always a lot of fun as far as I’m concerned. Then we have the whole second chance thing that was made even more intense with a child added to the mix and a lovely little dash of outside drama, and the ride was crazy, but good crazy. I’ll admit that I was totally Team Shane, but I was rooting for Jensen to grovel and make amends because the chemistry between them was hard to deny and I was very happy with how everything worked out.
Now, while I get why Jensen left ~ not that I agree fully, but do understand ~ there was one part of that whole situation that had me wanting to toss my Kindle into the freezer. I had a total “WTF?!?! Why would you…?!?!” moment. In fact, I’m still trying to figure that one out.
This book. This series ~ well, this one and Hope Valley, makes my romance loving heart happy and I’m always excited to dive back into these worlds. The characters are all well written, the connection between all the characters feels real and has me wishing I could hang out with them and the drama is rarely OTT. So, it makes for a great way to escape from reality for a couple hours ~ especially with all the crazy going on in the world. Now the author always gives us a tease about who the next couple will be and I’m pretty sure about who will be up on the chopping block next (C & L) but there was another moment in the book ~ a very brief one during an important moment that has me kinda hoping that these two (G & W) might end up having a thing because I think it could be all kinds of fun..but we’ll see. So, now to practice patience for the next book in either series to land in my greedy hands!
Note: You can read this as a stand-alone, but it would be a lot more fun it you start at the beginning of the series, or even start with Hope Valley if you haven’t ventured there yet.
Now this is a kind of second chance romance I can like. I've enjoyed Jessica Prince various series so far but Redemption ones have been good so far. She's good at small town.
So far all the the heroine's featured have had backbones and had past trauma that they still stood up and did their best. This was Shane's story she works with Farah at Bad Alibi and mom. She fell for a bad boy who left her and is now back. I'm happy to say she didn't wait for him or anything she did her best by the son. I can see Jensen wants to explain many misunderstandings and stuff happened before. He also had his rough upbringing despite being well off.
Jensen is determined to right his wrongs and fix their relationship and be a good dad. Something he didn't have before was family. Shane has abandonment issues from before, she's better now but it still lingers. Surrounded by her uncle's biker friends and brother she has a support system bow than before. The little flashbacks between chapters filled the gaps in their story. Including some family drama too.
It was pretty slow burn and it took a while to let Jensen in fully. He showed he wanted to win them both back and make up for his mistakes. It was sweet and thoughtful kind of story with some steam. Though the ending was last minute drama to tie up a loose end. I hope Jensen's friend will get books, but the teaser for the next book is new names.
Oh Jensen and Shane! This is the story I've been waiting for since they were first introduced in Bad Alibi. I couldn't wait to find out what happened to separate these two several years ago. While I did enjoy this one, I had a hard time with Jensen's reasons for leaving, especially since he essentially left his child as well as Shane. I understood why he felt that he had to but it didn't totally redeem him in my eyes. I did enjoy getting the flashbacks of their relationship--I really needed that present time explanation--but I felt that there were maybe too many and took me out of the story at times. The ending felt a bit rushed as well. I really loved Shane and absolutely adored their son, Brantley. I also enjoyed revisiting characters from previous books and loved that Shane's girl posse always had her back. Even though it wasn't my favorite, it was still a darn good read and I look forward to more of the series.
Being a huge fan of this series I’ve been patiently waiting on Shane and Jensen’s story, I wasn't quite sure what to expect of the man who’d left poor Shane pregnant and alone, my imagination had been concocting all sorts, however I certainly didn't predict the true reasoning behind his departure.
Now Jensen is back, not only does he want to get to know the son he’d left behind he also wants to reconnect with Shane, the woman who’s held his heart since he was eighteen years old. Shane’s not the same woman he’d left behind in Redemption, she’s built those walls up even higher than they’d been before, if he thought he was going to just walk straight back into her life and pick up where things had left off before, he was wrong, after all it’s not just Shane’s heart that's on the line this time, there’s Brantley, the most adorable little boy who they created and who Jensen’s just getting to know after all this time. Shane doesn’t give in so easily to Jensen’s charismatic ways and the mamma bear in her is determined to protect Brantley’s heart as much as her own.
Does Shane have a reason to worry? After all Jensen walked away once before as for Jensen, the battle to win back his woman is one he’s determined to win, before he'd left thinking he was doing the right thing now he’s back for his woman and son, his family, his heart, his home.
Another fantastic five star addition to the series.
OMGEEE these characters brought on the angst, heartache, forgiveness, and love! I adore that these two characters had to fight for their HEA, so much miscommunication, so much shame and heartache. This book pulled on my heartstrings and left me breathless! Forgiveness at its best, Jessica Prince knows how to break my heart and fill in the cracks to repair it.
