Update 10/29/21 =I downgraded the to 3 stars, my glowing original review below mostly stands except for fit. I am returning as I can not get a good seal in one of my ears and sound quality goes down. The ear pieces that come with these are far too small, I have tried in vain and unless I hold the left ear against my head I can not get the full sound. IN fact I was in disbelief and kept trying.Then there is my wife who can use the smaller ear pieces but construction of the buds themselves prevent a good seal and honestly look silly on her *L*Anyway, what I wrote below I guess is pretty much true if you can get a good seal to get good sound.I decided to keep the Jaybird vista 2 se AND the Bose Sport Ear Buds both if the fit me much better and resulting sound quality is truly a treat. Jaybird Controls, App are great and small size are good for sleeping in or laying in bed.Bose controls and App are almost primitive but the fit and sound outstanding.(Original text below)Im not sure what I can add to my review. Its all in the title!My background = I have been into audio my entire life, family and friends would seek my advice for decades. Things have changed since, most audio is "good enough" now.However, earbuds are must more intimate. You are putting this device in your ear and it needs to fit just right for the best sound. Whats more is, manufacturers can only "best guess" what is going to fit the majority of ears in every human being around the world.I always had an issue with one bud in my left ear working loose during activity, drove me nuts.I tried Jabra Elite 75t, Jabra Elite Active 75t, JBL Reflect Mini NC and have returned them because of this issue.Im currently testing Bose Sport, Jaybird Vista 2 SE and these PowerBeats Pro's.For what it is worth, the PowerBeats Pro's are the ones I am keeping and are the ones that I measure all others against. With that said I am also looking for a second set "just because" The PowerBeats are one style and the others mentioned another style. So I am still testing Bose Sportbuds and Jaybird Vista 2 SE out in order to select one of those two for my second set.Ok, the PowerBeats Pro =The quality and feel of these earbuds are outstanding, second to no one. Just amazing experience right out of the box. What is more, they are so comfortable its actually feels good when that soft ear tip pushing gently against your ear.Sound Quality = Sound quality is among the best, keeping in mind Beats needs to appeal to a wide range of consumers, right out of the box you will have crisp highs, well define bass. The midrange is a bit subdued as it is on most consumer items to add excitement to the music. Anyway, like I said, this is right out of the box, the PowerBeats Pro's are very responsive to your equalizer settings on your device should you want to change the sound.Controls = Wonderful for the most part. Its really GREAT having physical volume controls on the top of both earbuds, they work great. As with any Apple product the other controls work good too, a physical button on the side of each ear bud gives control of a host of other features. The button works just fine but its the one thing Im not crazy about, I seem to hunt around for it at first with my finger, Im sure in time I will get more used to it.Phone App = There is none for the iPhone as which is what Apple does with all their earbuds, drives me nuts but is what it is. You do get seamless, PERFECT bluetooth connection each time and the earbuds work perfectly, all functions such as equalizer work through the phones equalizer which is great, I jsut wish, one day Apple would step up to the plate with a real equalizer instead of having to choose preconfigured set EQ buttons.The good news is, these earbuds are so good I do not need the EQ. I leave it off, they sound that good, keeping in mind sound is VERY subjective and more so in an earbud, so you do have the Apple EQ to change the sound to your liking.FIt =Fit is perfect for me, everyones head is different and that goes for ANY earbud, all I can say is these things stay in place and amazingly, somehow you barely know they are there, gosh, sometimes you hear sounds in the music and it sounds like its coming from some other place around you and not from the earbuds.Summary =It doesnt get any better for earbuds except for the things I mention on my want list, it just depends exactly what you want and need them for as well as individual fit.1. The sound can sound a little crisp with deep bass which is great but not perfect and any device is never perfect but can say it doesnt get much better. I do want for more midrange at times, but again, there is an equalizer in your phone to select preset options if you wish.2. Hands down, the fit is nice and secure, most of all comfortable.3. The over the ear hook is jsut fantastic for sport earbuds, along with the entire design where the earpiece is even curved to your head.As mentioned the runners up to these are the Bose Sportbuds and Jaybird Vista 2 SE. I love the play factor of the Jaybird EQ but I get a little bit of the left earbud not perfectly staying in place on my ear, yet I suspect the vast majority would not have any issue and my own wife may select this one.For my second set I am leaning towards the Bose Sport, love the sound, EQ VERY basic and most of all, stays put on my ear almost as good but not quite and the PowerBeats Pro's ...Try the Powerbeats the VAST majority will and do love them. As well as my first choice.
