Battleship Indomitable (Galactic Liberation Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,527 ratings

Commodore Straker’s rebellion grows in strength—but his enemies are growing even faster. Faced with a dozen rebel planets in their territory, the Mutuality finally takes notice of the upstart known as the Liberator, and they gather a vast fleet to crush him.

Preparing for a titanic interstellar battle, it’s clear Straker has no chance. His tiny enclave of free planets can’t survive the weight of a thousand worlds. His own officers realize this, and some of them begin to turn against him...

In a desperate attempt to halt their inevitable destruction, Straker and his team set out to capture the largest ship ever built. The monstrous vessel is well-defended and contains secrets no one suspects. Unleashing its power might turn the tide of the war—but it may also doom humanity.

BATTLESHIP INDOMITABLE is the second book in the Galactic Liberation series. The series starts with book #1, STARSHIP LIBERATOR.

Having read and enjoyed the two books in this series fast availability of the next book is desired.

In book 2, the In dominator becomes very key to freeing people (human and other species) from thousands of worlds. The goal is to give each planet or solar system the opportunity for personal freedoms, safety and self-control.

There ate many battles along the way. The Liberator has a best friends from childhood working beside him. The personal relationships are complex and needed.

Technology is incorporated in many creative and fascinating ways. Some are fanciful dreams. Others will be great innovations making life easier in !any ways, when there are scientific breakthroughs. Amazing what the human MIMD can fathom then seek ways to implement. Those who have been reading science fiction for several decades can be amazed by things previously dreamed but now a normal part of life, as well as the new possible ties made possible by advancements in theory.

The characters are diverse, interesting and keep a good story line. The battles are many and bases on earth's past. The aliens are creative and evolving as much as the humans. Some will enjoy references to history.

Therefore it is easy to recommend his time to anyone trading this.

"Battleship Indomitable" is a fitting sequel to the first book in the Liberation series, and there are some parts that are as good as anything you can find in the space opera genre. Straker is an enhanced mech suiter who is most interesting when he is in his battle gear being awesome. Much of the time, however, he is being the head of a rolling war of conquest/liberation aimed initially at the Mutuality empire. He is greatly aided by a uniquely designed, enormous battleship that his allies, the octopoid Ruxin, are able to put into fighting shape. Unfortunately, the book is a little bloated and the large cast of characters occasionally gets lost (see Loco and the concubine). I can understand that it must be hard for co-authors to agree to drop one author's idea, but there is probably 100 pages or so that could have been trimmed without doing real damage. Still, the series is a good one so far, and I am waiting for the next volume.

This is a different kind of story!!! I love it and it only gets better when you read it a second time. Do yourself a favor and add the Audible narration and hear this too!!! It's worth it to support BVL and DV to create great reads like this. Don't forget to put up some stars and review to show your support!!!

Great new series(hopefully) characters you can root for and bad guys who may or not be true bad guys... action moves right along... and the books are nice long reads... nothing's more aggravating than a quick read and find no more books in the series ready to download after you're hooked...now to await the next in this series...

It was ok it was Predictable at least to me as Well as some very bad judgment calls by one of Characters that I feel will play out in the next Book's also Disappointed that one of the Characters won't push their decision-making. The ending was a mild surprise. It's Not a bad read but if you've read some of Mr. Larson's work it feels Very Familiar but I'm Optimistic for the next in the Series.

You can't go wrong at the current price. The first book was good enough that I went ahead and got this one. I quickly grew tired of Engels and Loco and Straker having the same conversations over and over again that already grew annoying in the first book. Fortunately that didn't proceed throughout the entire book as the characters seemed to grow and learn more about themselves in their roles. At least that's what I'm hoping. Some of the plot devices such as the AI portion were a little weird but that's typical Sci-fi. It didn't necessarily feel like a deux machina but something like that needed to happen to get this story where it was going. Pretty good book but I've had my fill of this series.

With your best girl and best friend fighting alongside, a few cooperative aliens to assist you and the meanest set of battle armor to keep you nice and cozy while shooting your enemies...

And when two excellent authors are there to tell the story, the outcome is a good, fun and easy to read book.

I enjoyed this as much as the first book and am looking forward to the next book. I thought that Straker was a bit over driven at times causing some real problems in all aspects of his life but he usually seemed to get his act together in the end.

I especially appreciate the authors conversion to metric in the second book from imperial in the first. I will continue to enjoy this series and look for other works by author Larson.

I received an advance review copy of this book, provided I give an honest review of it. The basis for a rich and epic adventure are set, new worlds, political systems to be rebuilt and aliens to convince or fight. We want to see Straker, Carla evolve with the world they are reshaping. Wish them luck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series

Well I've just finished reign both of these books after previous enjoyment of other B V Larson books.

For me they have a great no nonsense storey line without too many "trying to be clever" bits that make for long drawn out explanations.

About the only downer was the main character getting a bit egotistical whic sort of spoils it a bit.

Other than that great, straight forward goodies and baddies sci fi and best of all the books are of a decent length for a change, well done don't leave it too long for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced good read that picks up where the last novel left off.

Fast paced good read that picks up where the last novel left off. Straight into the action and never letting up, this book delivers a familiar mid-novel twist/change of pace, and a satisfying conclusion culminating in a large set piece battle that resolves the liberation arc from the first novel.
While delivering it's payoff, the book also leaves hanging some plot points that beg to be answered concerning the background world it is set in. Perhaps flashback scenes like in the first novel will be used to flesh out the origins of both major alliances in the next book?

These are the first books I've read from either author, and while a collaboration book seems like a risk (both authors giving it only half) you instead end up with twice the novel. I was impressed with the length and seamlessness of the first novel as well as the professionalism of the authors who I can attest first hand are willing to go out of their way for their fans, but also run a tight ship and won't leave you hanging for years on the next installment.

Look forward to the next in the series
