Publisher's summary

For the first time in his life, Wes Ahern has encountered something—someone—he can’t fix. Not with his hands, his words, not even with his love.

His head tells him Abby had to get out of Colorado to heal from the nightmare that nearly took her from him. To mend her wounded body, piece her broken spirit back together, and find out who she is behind the mask she felt forced to wear.

His first instinct was always to protect her. Still is. But as he faces his own pain, an agonizing realization dawns: that while he needs her more than his next breath, the best place for her may not be with him.

Because while he always had her back, the secrets they kept—even from each other—had the power to destroy them.

Note: Back to You is the conclusion of the Chaotic Love Duet. Often dark and sometimes jarring, this book also contains references to childhood trauma, kidnapping, and PTSD.

Psychological Perspective

I hurt for Wes and Abby because of the emotional and psychological matters they had to deal with in order to heal as individuals before being able to move on with their lives. I was sad because they were living separate lives for a few years without contact. I am so glad they got their HEA.
Jason Clarke has a sultry and deep voice which was perfect for Wes. Muffy Newton was the perfect Abby.
I applaud Ms. Burgoa for addressing a sensitive and difficult subject matter of abuse. Abby accepted counselling to heal because she tried to treat her PTSD on her own.

An emotional conclusion

I couldn’t wait to dive into Back To You. Firstly, if you haven’t read Begin With Me then STOP as you need to read or listen to this book first.
After the ending of book one, I was on the edge of my seat whilst listening to this one. This book is not for the faint of heart, so please heed the trigger warnings before you start this duet as it deals with heavy topics and may be a trigger for some.
Abby is broken and Wes has no idea what he can do to help the woman he cares about so much. However, there are secrets that lie between them that may destroy them. What happens when all is revealed?
Once again, the performances by Jason Clarke and Muffy Newton brought this emotional story to life for me. Their voices were easy to listen to and they did justice to the story that Ms. Burgoa wove.

Enjoyed this series

This is the second story in the Chaotic Love duet. You will want to read them in order as it is one long continuous story. It was nice to see more of the POV from Abby and Wes. With a sprinkling of Sterling. Abby and Wes were in love but it took awhile for them to each be ready to share their lives together.

Such a healing story

Since this is book 2 of a duet it starts out at a high point in the plot and moves towards wrapping up the story. I truly love Wes and Abby. I hated seeing them spend so much time apart in this book, but loved how they worked on healing themselves first so that they could be better together.

The narrators did such a great job of bringing these characters to life. I wish their story wasn't over.

Loved this story line

Great story fitting for what’s been going on in the world. Not only is this a love story. It’s a story of overcoming your past, learning strength comes from within. You need to love yourself first before you can love someone wholeheartedly. I was captivated. Must read.

Excellent Story & Listen🎧Compelling & Powerful!

Claudia Burgoa does it again, she pens another amazing novel, the second book of her “Chaotic Love” duet and followup to “Begin With Me”, which you need to read or listen to first. This book picks up where that one ended and what an ending it was, one you never saw coming. Abby comes face to face with the ones who tormented her when she was younger and continues to in her dreams, or rather nightmares. Wes is frantic, trying to track her down and makes a call to the ones he had looking into her past, who have been working were working with the FBI who have been investigating those people from Abby’s past. Abby was fragile to begin with and the incident set her back, but this time she was going to get the help she needs. Wes tortures himself for not getting to her in time and his life implodes, so Sterling steps in to take over the company and Wes tries to get his life back in order and needs to learn to live again without Abby in it. These two needed time to heal and work on their issues, life brings them back together or maybe it was Sterling, but when their paths cross again, they rekindle their friendship and Wes is determined to woo her and win her over and capture her heart again. I loved how everything played out in this book, no walking on eggshells here, real-life issues were kept realistic, the story is both cleverly and beautifully plotted with the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, second chance romance. It was great to see a few characters from some of the author’s other series, some I met before, others I am looking forward to meeting. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride, this story will stay with me for a very long time.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Jason Clarke and Muffy Newtown’s outstanding performance of bringing these characters and story to life continues. They have been consistent with the character voices throughout the duet and the quality of the audio is top-notch. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance. The talent and versatility of these voice artists know no bounds, and they are fabulous in every role they perform. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Healing, Swoon-worthy Love Story!

Back to You by Claudia Burgoa was the emotionally, healing conclusion to the Chaotic Love Duet. This heartfelt romance continued to follow the story of Abby and Wes, on their journey to finding peace with their past inner demons and learning to love and trust again in each other. This book brought on happy tears and left my soul feeling simply satisfied.

This audio is also narrated by Jason Clarke and Muffy Newtown, and these two once again had me deeply connected to these amazing characters. In Muffy's performance, you could feel Abby's conflicted yet determined emotions as she finally found the strength to grow and put her painful past behind her. It was empowering! Jason really showcased Wes' passion and devotion to winning Abby and their dedication to healing and loving together. (swoon!)

Overall, I loved this entire duet! If you love a romance with lovers who have a tragic past, but discover a passionate healing journey together, and have a HEA that will leave you with deliciously happy tears and make your heart soar, then you will adore Wes and Abby's story. I always look forward to more from Claudia Burgoa.

Loved this Powerful and Intoxicating Romance!

Wow! This second book in the Chaotic Love series is raw, powerful and intoxicating. This story picks right up with the stunning events at the end of book one. It is totally horrifying and heartbreaking! After Abby's heart stopping and heroic rescue, neither Wes or Abby are able to cope with their physical and psychological scars. I thought I knew who Wes and Abby were in the first book, but I was so wrong. Many books gloss over what it takes to heal from such trauma. Ms Burgoa takes the time to break them down to their most elemental, then slowly puts them back together, stronger and more beautiful. The journey to accomplish that is slow and angsty. I was so frustrated with them at times but in the end I fell in love with Wes and Abby all over again. Sterling played an essential part in this story and I can't wait to read more about him! I also loved the cameos from my favorite Security Specialists!
Jason Clarke, and Muffy Newtown added so much depth to these characters as they continue to narrate this breathtaking, second chance romance, and bring it to life so clearly. I loved the way they developed and expressed these characters and their struggles so intimately, and made me care for them even more. I was completely captivated by their passionate and poignant performance.
Wes and Abby's story is filled with pain and sorrow but it also has a beautiful new beginning, filled with forgiveness, hope, and love that will stay with you long after the last word.

Part 2 the healing

These two books have ripped my heart out and put it back together. In Book one we see Abby's scars and how Wes wants to save her but can't quite save himself. We watch as their brother (foster brother) doesn't seem to have a purpose in life and instead flits around just worried about himself. Now we are to book two and the healing begins for both Abby and Wes and surprisingly it is Sterling that helps them both. No spoilers here so I won't go into details but just let me say this is such a great duet and I couldn't get enough. I wanted to hug Abby and Wes but to shake some sense into them. There are dark moments that might be triggers for some so be aware. Abby suffered as a child and so did Wes. We see them survive their past and come out the other side stronger.

Jason Clarke and Muffy Newtown were outstanding and I was entranced as they told this story. Great job for both.

I loved this duet and highly recommend them as it is two books so you need to read/listen to book one first. Well written and has great characters. It has its difficult times but well done and not focused on the dark side but on the light at the end, they come through.

Back to You

As this is the second book of a duet you definitely need to read Begin with Me first!

Claudia Burgoa can write angst really well. It doesn't overwhelm the story and keeps me reading as I look forward to the characters getting their HEA. Wes and Abby have already been through so much and deal with even more in this book. However, they share an undeniable connection and were meant to be together. I thought this was a good wrap up to their story and a well narrated audiobook.
