Two people bound by grief.
Two people who can never be together.
Two people who need each other more than ever.
Let me start by saying how beautiful and exciting is to find a book by chance and love it that much. In my case, I found this free on Amazon and I decided to read it. Little did I know that I would fall in love with Hunter and Lennon...
First of all, my advice if you decided to read it is to go completely blind. I made the "mistake" of reading the blurb at about 20% and I just wish I hadn't done it. For some reason (🤷🏻♀️) almost every plot twist that happens in this story is included in the blurb. So, yeah, don't read it.
That being said you'd expect me to not like it that much. But, thankfully, that didn't happen. The story was so beautifully written and the characters were so likeable that even though I knew what would happen I enjoyed it a whole lot!
So, Hunter is a bartender at a club when he meets Lennon and she instantly likes her. He hopes that she will return to the bar but that not happens. Unfortunately for him the next day finds Lennon in his apartment after she spends the night with his roommate and best friend Brandon. She instantly becomes off-limits for him and even though he likes her a lot he doesn't make a move, being loyal to his best friend. He tries to get over her by having a lot of one night stands and, when Lennon moves in with them, he constantly fights with her.
Someone might not like what Hunter does and I totally get it but reading his POV I couldn't help but love him. He preferred to be loyal to Brandon instead of being selfish and act on his feelings. Till the end he was so sweet and cute so welcome Hunter to my book-boyfriend list! 😅
Overall, I really loved this story and I already started the next book!
"My only job right now is to be the glue that keeps her whole as best as I can."
"If I weren't keeping the biggest secret of my life from her, I'd be kissing those tears away."
"I'll do anything to comfort her and to help her heal, even if it means I'm destroyed in the process."
