The Journey to Source
May the poetry in this book serve as a reminder that we are visitors here.
One day each of us will let go of everything and everyone we love.
It is this powerful and humbling truth which makes us truly appreciate life.
Let us use this life as the grandest opportunity
to explore, strengthen, heal, grow, love, give, create,
and courageously forge ahead in service to others.
Heart first always in connection to Source.
Delve within and answer the necessary questions:
- Who am I?
- What is the meaning of life?
- Why am I here?
The Journey to Source is the first in a series of seven poetry books. Each book is composed of poems associated with topics of one specific chakra. In yoga practice, we usually begin with the root chakra (grounding) and elevate to the crown chakra (en-lighten-ment). However, I decided to begin with the crown chakra and work my way downwards. It is the last and highest of the seven primary chakras, the one most associated with the metaphysical, spiritual realm. This is done to honor all those who have physically left this world, yet are still present and connected to us.
The Chakra System
According to the Vedas (ancient Indian sacred texts), the physical body is composed of seven primary energy or vortex centers called chakras. Chakra is the Sanskrit word for wheel. The seven main chakras run along the spine-beginning with the root chakra and ending with the crown chakra. The main chakras are:
- 1 Root
- 2 Sacral
- 3 Solar plexus
- 4 Heart
- 5 Throat
- 6 Third eye
- 7 Crown

Kitsios' penmanship is exquisite, her prose rich and profound, resonating with readers on a deeply personal level. The journey she takes us on is both intimate and universal, a trajectory that starts within our hearts and extends to the infinite cosmos.
The book is a heartfelt plea to look within, to explore the vast landscapes of our souls, and to acknowledge and embrace our source. It's an empowering guide that teaches us to not just exist, but to truly live. The depth of Kitsios' understanding and wisdom left me in awe, her words a comforting balm to the chaos of life.
Moreover, the author's experience as an LMT shines through, as she encases spiritual wisdom in accessible, practical advice. Her approach to the journey of self-discovery is comprehensive, holistic, and utterly transformative.
By the end of the book, I felt as though I had been on a personal retreat. I felt lighter, more centered, and infinitely more connected to my source. Maria Kitsios LMT has truly crafted a masterpiece - one that speaks to the heart, nourishes the soul, and ignites the spirit.
This book is more than just a read, it's an experience. One that I recommend everyone embark on. Journey to Source is not just a book, it's a compass to inner peace and self-realization. It's an exploration of the self, a journey to the source, a voyage to the heart of existence.

The poems in this book are an excellent introduction to said higher spiritual perceptions for anyone curious about expanding their own, and/or are curious about the nature of spirituality. Amongst the pages are very key statements which are very pertinent to the times we live in now. Some examples that stood out to me:
* What if all we ever knew was a lie within itself
* It is not enough to obtain knowledge
Through awareness, we must embody it as well.
* Question all that is believed to be true
Even our senses
and perception of daily reality
* Life is but a hell
if it be lived so
* our work as living entities is to revolt against the mundane
Such are critical ideas all people should wrestle with, to challenge personal preoccupations & beliefs. We do indeed need to move past the trap of "consensus reality", which is filled with nonsense, and into something evolved and closer to *what is* rather than *what has been decided for us*. A large part of the suffering we experience is due to this situation we're in. I find this book a wonderful little soldier in this war we are all currently living through.
Looking forward to the rest of the series!
This book explains the chakras which embody us all -- And that through the mind we can find balance to our bodies.
A little snippet from the book:
"The role of the seeker of truth,
that of the philosophical
and working mind
is to question everything.
Question all that is believed to be true."
More than ever this statement strikes a chord, be kind to one another - and your fellow Man comes before politics and agendas. A little kindness goes a long way. Stay safe everyone!
