This is a perfectly adequate cassette player and radio combo. The internal speaker doesn’t sound good and that gives it some charm. There’s an audible electronic sound that only appears when you record from the radio and the noise of the internal motor somehow ends up in the background of anything you record. That’s all part of the fun though. Now, if you just want to listen to a tape or record some notes or something these issues likely won’t bother you, half of people won’t notice. I notice because I know what to listen for and what makes a difference in recording music.
The most important thing for me was the ability to open the player up and add a potentiometer to control the motor speed. It was super simple to do and now I can play tapes at any speed I want. Opening the player to get to the guts is very easy and you don’t even have to take the cassette door off. There are four small screws that come out of the back and the cover pops right off. Then you find the red wire that’s connected to a spot on the PCB labeled “MOT+”, it’s a red wire. From there you connect the red wire to one end of your potentiometer and then connect another wire from the pot to where you previously removed the red wire. It’s a very small and quick soldering job. I used DuPont wires at first just to find the right connections before soldering. It’s a very simple procedure and there are people who’ve done more complicated mods to this exact model of cassette player.

It's exactly what you pay for. Your going to hear pops and hisses with some recording flaws. It's never going to sound like a CD or MP3. It's a fun toy.
I bought this to listen to old cassettes from my childhood. I wasn't expecting hifi or anything like that, just a way to play tapes. Overall it is a good little cassette player, it just falls short of the quality of the ones I had back in the 90's.
It has a built in speaker, which I use occasionally, and it sounds just fine.
There is an am/fm radio which is only good for nostalgia feels. The tuning dial is too sensitive to hone in on a specific station and the reception is poor inside a building.
There is a recording feature that I haven't tried out and don't intend to.
The volume knob is also quite touchy and too loud is separated from too quiet by about 1 micron.
The removable belt clip feels flimsy and I haven't tested it yet, either.
There is also a micro USB port to record tapes to computer which I might use later.
What this player lacks is refinement. The clips that hold the cassette in place are loose and the tape can easily get wedged crooked going in and snags on a lip on the lid coming out meaning changing and flipping tapes could be smoother (this is an annoyance more than anything. Some of my older players were MUCH easier to handle).
There is no auto stop for FF and RW (play does auto stop).
Basically, it does the bare minimum I expect of a cassette player and at a reasonable price, but I would describe it as cheap and not for the retro audiophile.
I would highly recommend this player for anyone looking to play cassette tapes, though I don't know why, or connect to your computer to capture priceless audio like I did. I don't know why I had the impression from the details that this captured audio - it definitely doesn't do the digitizing, but it does have a microphone if that's what they meant by "converter". It does have a Micro USB port, but I used the 3.5 headphone jack (male to male) to connect to my computer and record the audio that way.
