Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

Edit (10/3/21) Ran into a problem being able to view my cameras via My multiple Echo Shows. One minute it was working fine, then just stopped. Spent hours troubleshooting on my own, to no avail, including checking other 3rd party devices that worked via live view, checking my wifi signal, checking the cams via wifi on my phonme and PC, via the Windows client. They were working just fine, everywhere but on the Echo Show. So, removed Reolink and the cams from the Alexa app, reinstalled them an re-linked them, all successfully. Alexa had no problem finding each cam via wifi and setting them back up "successfully". However, still nothing, except in the Alexa app that said "Live view not supported". Contacted Reolink and they agreed it was an Alexa app problem, which I had already figured out. So, called Amazon supportInitially spent 2 hours on the phone with 2 reps in the Phillipines. Both agreed, after all troubleshooting, it was an Alexa app problem, but had no solution past all the troubleshooting that had already been done. So, the last rep filed a long and very detailed trouble ticket. The rep said I would get a phone call in 3-5 days. However, just 20 minutes later I got an email with how to troubleshoot the problem and stating it would definitely fix the problem. Unfortunately, the p[erson who sent the email never really read the trouble ticket and sent me troubleshooting for problems totally unrelated to my situation, includiong the 'kill pill' of dumping all apps, including Alexa, and reinstalling every single one of the myriad of devices, hubs, bluetooth connections, linkings, etc. That would have involved days and was not an option. Called back in and got a supervisor (again in the Phillipines", who completely agreed the email was wrong and dealt with issues not related to my problem. But, told me I would have to start back at square one with a new rep and spend another hour+ going over everything and file a new trouble ticket and then *hope* it was read and responded to correctly this time.At the end of my rope, I sent a long email to the Corporate VP over Amazon digital devices, including the Echo Show. To my surprise, I received a reply within a couple of hours from an underling, who only had a first name. He wrote that Amazon was taking my problem seriously and would immediately turn it over to their engineers to find a solution. However, he went on to say this would be done internally and I would NOT be notified of any solution they found!!! What??? Really???? That was insane. As one last ditch effort, I wrote to Reolink again, referenced our earlier conversations and simply asked if they had ever heard of such a problem before. Reolink immediately wrote back and told me it was new to them, but they were going to take a serious interest in it and immediately turn it over to their R&D team, even though it wasn't their problem, as freely admitted by all at Amazon. I was impressed.. But, not as impressed as I was 24 hours later when I awoke to another email from Reolink support. It said that they had found a glitch in the Alexa app and developed a workaround for it. They further wrote that they had taken care of everything and I needed to do nothing, simply just start enjoying the use of live view streaming on my Echo Shows. A bit bewildered, I gave Alkexa the command to show my cams and they worked. As it wasn't their problem, Reolink didn't have to do anything. But, they went so far above and beyond to take care of their customer, even when it wasn't their responsibility or problem. Reolink support is, by far, the best I have ever encountered. (One cavaet - they are in Europe and not available 24/7, so unless you are up in the middle of the night, expect to wait until the next morning for a response.) My rating for Reolink is 10 stars, for Amazon support is ZERO stars (definitely deserves a minus-stars rating). My sincere thanks and appreciation to ALL at Reolink!
I had to go with WIFI & Solar Powered cameras due to the locations required so I sat down and chewed through all of the specs for all of the companies. I sat through hours of YouTube Videos, comparison videos, long term use....etc. And ReoLink came out on top of nearly all of my categories.
I chose the ARGUS2/Solar combo. I am very confident in my purchase decision.
Set up was point and shoot with your Smartphone. I fully charged all of the batteries for the 3 cameras prior to setup, so that took about an 1hour-2hours each out of the box. But once powered on - set up to network connection to video transmission took all of 2 minutes. VERY EASY.
Fit and Finish on these cameras is stellar. VERY well designed and built.
Image quality is fantastic. You can route the transmission to your phone, your computer for local Harddrive recording or send the files to the cloud service (free for a single camera....awesome) but $30 a year for up to 5 cameras-- Amazing value so I sent with the 5 Camera Cloud. Easy, simple access to all of the archives and individual camera feeds.
Night vision image quality is great for its distance, but the IR illuminators could use a bit more throw-- they cover about 30 feet total, but really their main throw is about 20 feet for full illumination. Night vision works best as B&W video. I would love if they could amp the IR vision up to about 75 feet. I've thought about buying an IR Illuminator panel to add additional IR light to the dark spots in the yard. The camera can see the IR-- it just doesn't have VERY powerful IR illuminators (to save the battery).
The only MINOR complaint I have is the mounting plate design. It truly requires a super flat/flush surface to mount on. If your surface has bends and ridges to it or is concave, you will find it a little bit difficult to mount the camera post on the wall plate. It takes a bit of fuss, but I was able to get 2/3 mounted within minutes. One plate gave me a bit of trouble for about 10 minutes as I had to try to readjust the tension on the screws to give a bit more wiggle room for the locking tab to click into place.
Solar panels are compact, enough to keep the battery at full charge with only a few hours of light per day. They are not meant to fully power the camera, only to keep the battery charged. Also the cable comes with a silicone sleeve for weather/moisture protection at the plug --NICE DESIGN. Thoughtful.
One note: You should purchase a wifi extender for your home if you are sending the signal far across your property. The camera work great, its mostly your wifi router signal relays that needs some attention. Don't forget to get on that uses a SINGLE Wifi name - Like the Netgear ac1750 - this allows you to keep one WIFI system in place for your phone etc. Otherwise if you have two separate wifi network links (generated by some wifi extenders), you will need to switch back and forth from your phone from Wifi streams to access the cameras depending on which WIFI they are connected to. Setting up a SINGLE NAME WIFI network is essential for practical use of the cameras/phone/computer interconnectivity.
