Anne Schroeder describes herself as a calorically-challenged Aphrodite with an unmistakable fervor for life. Second of seven children, she was born in Ventura County, California, the subject of her first memoir, BRANCHES ON THE CONEJO: Leaving the Soil after Five Generations.

In 1971 she graduated from Cal Poly, SLO, in the first wave of the Social and Sexual Revolution with a degree in Social Science, a husband, toddler and part-time job. Her memoir ORDINARY APHRODITE is an adventure tale about a life of small steps in the Boomer women's experience. Her fiction and memoir have won numerous awards.

She served as 2015 President of Women Writing the West, 2016 WILLA Literary Competition Chair and is a member of Western Writers of America. Her Central Coast Series features well researched, character-driven novels about the history of Central California in the Mission California era--in the POV of the indiginous people who suffered under the Spanish, Mexican and American conquests of their native land. CHOLAMA MOON is the first in the series, a western romance with gritty attitude. MARIA INES and THE CABALLERO'S SON follow a Mission Indian family through the Spanish, Mexican and Yanqui conquests of California. A fourth book. PALOMITA, DOVE OF THE GABILANS will follow in 2022.

In this era of publishing it's hard for a writer to distinguish herself from the herd. I so appreciate my reader/fans and their valuable input. I strive to be an inspirational voice for people of the land, both modern and historical. For me, joy in writing comes from finding forgotten research books. I love combining facts with storytelling to create an unforgettable saga that remains in the heart long after the last page is read. It's the final installment of the Field of Promise series by Anne Schroeder, called 'Promise of Family.' This series has been a delight to read, full of sweet and wholesome romance, faith, and family. In this book, we follow Amanda and Jacob, who return to Ohio for a visit. Amanda wants to help Jacob reconcile with his brother, whom he hasn't spoken to in years. They also bring along Amanda's father, who is suffering from dementia and wants to see his hometown one last time. But tragedy strikes when an accident claims his life and injures their son. How will Amanda and Jacob cope with their loss and their fears? How will they find hope and healing amid their grief?

Anne Schroeder has a gift for creating realistic and relatable characters that you can't help but care about. She also vividly depicts the Amish community and culture, showing their values and traditions. I enjoyed seeing how Amanda and Jacob's relationship grew stronger through their challenges and how they relied on God and each other for comfort and support. The book also had some surprising twists and turns that kept me hooked until the end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good Christian romance with a touch of mystery and suspense.

This is another excellent Amish-themed book from Anne Schroeder. Well-written, the characters come alive as Englischer Amanda attempts to build bridges with her husband's Amish family. This is an uplifting story of reconciliation, forgiveness and healing a family rift. I recommend it.
