Dark Storm (Dragon's Gift: The Storm Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 3,000 ratings

I’ve been betrayed.

I spent years hiding my magic from the world, but now I've got new powers I can’t control. Everyone around me is at risk, and if my secret is revealed, I’ll be hunted.

But I don’t have time to worry about the monster I might become.

Someone has stolen a dangerous artifact that could turn my world upside down. It could get me and my friends killed and bring destruction down on my city.

Is Damien Malek to blame?

He’s a fallen angel. Handsome and lethal. A thief and a liar. And he’s betrayed me before. The heat between us keeps pulling us together, but his lies always tear us apart.

If I want answers, I will have to risk everything. My job. My magic. My life.

There’s a riddle to solve. An ancient city to find. A deadly genie to defeat, and a dark storm rising in the burning sands.

An action-packed urban fantasy, Dark Storm features a rebel heroine, a dark angel hero, and slow burn romance. Dive into the mysteries of the Arabian Nights and prepare yourself for edge-of-your-seat adventure amongst the shifting sands.

If you enjoyed the archaeology, history, and daring in Linsey Hall's original Dragon's Gift books, this adventure is for you!

Congratulations to the team Linsey Hall and Veronica Douglas for this intriguing story. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

Oh so good. This was an exciting story that continues the adventures of Neve and Damian. In the previous book a djinni was captured and placed in the MagicPol vault. In this one it's been stolen, which was supposed to be an impossible feat. So Neve thinking Damian is the thief, goes to his place and accuses him only to discover she's wrong. So the two of them pair up again in search of another djinni to help them find the stolen one and the thief. I can't say much more without spoiling it so that's all of the plot I'm giving away.

What I loved: the characters. Of course the main two but also side characters like Amira and Spark and Khalil and Yasmina. I especially loved Amira and hope she makes another appearance in one of the next books. I loved the reveal about Damian but also suspected it. I loved the mention of Firesouls tying this series back to the original Dragon's Gift series which started it all. A Del, Cass or Nix crossover would be awesome. And the story itself with all of the adventures and the slow burning love story that's trying oh so hard to happen between Damian and Neve.

What I didn't love: It ended. Like all good books, the end came too soon and I have to wait until next month for another instalment.

This book is just as amazing as the first! Neve and Damien have to team up to find out who is stealing the genies and find them before its too late. The places we get to travel to with Neve and Damien are amazing. The descriptions are so vivid that I felt like I was actully there. This is full of action, adventure, intrigue, twists, turns, betrayal and a dash of kidnapping involved. The Efreet realm is absolutely crazy and so is the Efreet king. The fire djinn are the worst. Neve and Damien have to work together to get out of some really sticky situations along with the help of a new friend. I can't wait to see what happens next and how they will defeat the crazy baddie. I very highly recommend this series! It is amazing!

I'm a fan of Linsey Hall, so I took a chance on reading this series, and it does not disappoint! I enjoy the characters and the storyline as they travel among the different worlds. Neve is awesome. She is coming into her power and is a force to recon with. The bad guys don't know what hit them, until it's too late. She is conflicted about her feelings for Damien. She's not sure if she can trust him just yet. Can't wait to read the next one!!l

I just couldn't read it fast enough. Full of adventure and excitement. Amazing! Once it grabs you, there is no turning back. You get hooked, and cannot wait for the next book. Loved it!!!

So much happened in this second book. Lots of action, a new character (whom I hope sticks around), all related to 1001 Nights.
I was wrong in my review of the previous book. I love the characters. It's not very often I read about the djinn and the interpretation in this series is fabulous!

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another winning addition to the Dragon's Gift world
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 18, 2021
This is the second book in the Dragon's Gift : The Storm series. I love it so far. It's full of action, magic and adventure.
The world in which all the Dragon's Gift books are set is extensive and crosses over with the Shadow Guild series. I love the way the authors weave historical facts and interesting locations into the fabric of their story. It really adds to the aesthetic.
I can't wait for book three.
