A roller coaster of suspense, oh my goodness. Ian and Wavy meeting for the first time? Classic mistaken identity, and it cracked me up! I adore Ian showing up for Wavy in whatever way he can for her, and I loved how drawn Wavy was to Ian, quite literally going out of her way to see him. These two are such a good fit for each other and had such a touch journey to get their happily ever after. I cannot wait to read Sarge and Bronwyn’s story after seeing glimpses of them and all the secrecy in this book!!

Great start to her new series!

A new paramilitary series that is a spin off of Janie Crouch’s Linear Tactical group. Ian DeRose, Aries, is the owner of Zodiac Tactical and takes on tough missions for the government. Waverly Bellinger is the sister of Finn and Baby, who we met in the LT series.

The sparks fly from the beginning with Ian and Wavy. I’m glad that it didn’t drag out until they got together. It wasn’t too fast either.

Janie Crouch, as always, builds great characters that are soo real. I was kept guessing throughout the story. I finished it in 1 day! Ian was a strong alph-male, but he truly loved Wavy. After her ordeal, the way he helped her recover was “swoony”. Wavy was also a strong woman. Her inner strength was great to read.

I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Not sure why the author would write the same book twice and fix it so that one could not simply skip the repeat. I loved the heroine in this book until the very end of the book when she was making the incredibly brave and loving hero who had also been through so much suffer. She went from strong, likable Wavy to selfish, self-absorbed Wavy; a woman you’d love to hate.

Oh, it was so, so worth the wait! I have been excitedly anticipating Code Name: Aries, the first book in Janie Crouch’s new Zodiac Tactical series since we first had a taste of Ian DeRose and Wavy Bollinger in a short story what seems like months and months ago. When I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of the story I actually hesitated to start reading, was I quite ready to let the heady anticipation go? Okay so the hesitation was only for like a nanosecond before I dived in to this brilliant, compelling, page turner of a story.
Ian and Wavy have made brief appearances in the Linear Tactical series and now they have their own story. Drawn together by an invisible force Wavy brings colour and light to Ian‘s all too often dark life, his Rainbow makes him smile and soothes his soul. Much as Ian doesn’t want to involve Wavy in his dark and dangerous life, he can’t fight the pull of the warm, gentle, unique woman that is Wavy Bollinger and when the evil from his past snatches her away, Ian will stop at nothing to get her back.
Without a doubt the story is intensely dark at times and will test your emotions, there is heartbreak and tragedy as well as the deep beautiful love story at its heart. Action packed, filled with suspense, you will be gripped and enthralled from start to finish. If you need more there is also romance, passion and humour in this powerful story of human strength, determination and resilience in the face of horror.
I loved Aries so much, definitely didn’t want it to end and I now have new favourite Janie Crouch characters (sorry Gabe and Jordan) Can’t wait for the rest of the series, I know it is going to be superb!
