"What I love about The Talent Fix is that it's written no differently from a live conversation with Tim. Never preachy but chock full in smarts as he's been there and done that—it's basically a TA leader's guide from your big brother." —Jessica Lee, VP, Brand Talent Initiatives Marriott International

"What Tim writes, I read. No doubt he is a thought leader in our industry, but he is also a practitioner—he’s been there, done that—respect! —Danielle Monaghan, Head of Talent Acquisition, Consumer, Amazon

"
The Talent Fix is for every leader who's been told to fix a broken hiring process but needs a specific place to start. Tim is the one person in the HR industry who will give you a detailed recruiting roadmap that tells you what you should do, how to do it, and why." —Laurie Ruettimann, SPHR, founder and CEO of LFR Inc.

If Recruiting is the Tip of the HR spear,
The Talent Fix is the best primer on how to wield it. It's time for Talent Acquisition leaders everywhere to step up and lead." —Gerry Crispin, co-founder of CareerXroads and TalentBoard

"Tim makes Talent Acquisition come alive! For anyone who wants to successfully identify, recruit, hire, and retain talent,
The Talent Fix is full-blown toolkit from someone who’s lived the work and has thrived." —Steve Browne, SHRM-SCP, executive director of HR for LaRosa’s, Inc. and author of HR on Purpose!!

Mr. Sackett delivers a compelling case why the talent acquisition process is the most important function in any business or venture. In this day and age when finding qualified talent is difficult, Mr. Sackett provides concrete ways to solve this problem in a funny, no holds barred fashion in this must read for any HR professional. In the last chapter, he provides a road map to where talent acquisition is headed and how practioners can stay ahead of the curve in this fluid environment. I highly recommend this informative, fast paced contribution to the HR field.

Wow! This book was not an expense; it was a great investment. I have worked in HR, recruiting, and talent management for 25 years and I like to keep up with the industry so I bought this book because Tim is a true thought leader. This book was not purchased on a whim. For several years beforehand, I followed Tim’s online publications. THIS BOOK CONTAINS NO SUGARCOATING. Tim tells it like it is and how it should be. People who should read this book: Recruiters, HR professionals, business professionals, hiring managers, anybody who has a job, and those seeking employment in any field. Did I leave anybody out?

Tim's views on TA come from a career that spans a variety of different recruiting environments. Many of the things he addresses in this book hold true no matter what industry you are recruiting for. It speaks to top-level managers while still providing perspective to someone just starting their journey into the recruiting world. Tim does a great job of walking the line between old and new school recruiting and I think this is what makes this book so effective. The ideas it puts forth are ones that evolve with time, but still hold true and that is a necessity in the ever-changing TA industry.

I work in HR and my company purchased this book for all of us TAs. We are doing the book club together. I have been enjoying it so far. Tim really knows his stuff and I like his no nonsense style. I got to see him speak at a conference once. He's great!

I recently purchased this book since I"m in the recruiting industries and needed some ideas to "wake up" my department. There were so many gems dropped throughout the book and it was refreshing. I highly recommend anyone who wants to learn more about TA or even just for a good read should check it out. Tim has a great sense of humor tied to realism and it couldn't be any better! I look forward to another book in the near future to begin my collection!

One of the best things about this book is that Tim Sackett keeps it real. In the end, with limited budgets and resources it is impossible for a company to "be like" or worse "become a Google". You have to make your own mark in your own market to understand and attract candidates.
By the same token he explains that the grass may not also be greener on the Google side of the grass.

Enjoyed this book so much that I ordered a copy for every person in our organization (we're a staffing company). The right recruiting approach is simple, but it's not easy. Tim doesn't sugar coat what you need to do. If you want to be great, you'll have to work at it, but you won't have to guess if you have The Talent Fix as your guide.

Its a good reference book. Love the way its brutally honest, Tim has called an elephant in the room for lot of times. if you are recruiting leader, this book should be there with you for a lot of referencing. It opens up lot of your Dilemma and you encounter it with real life examples. it has happened with me personally as well. so i would strongly recommend it to every thought full recruiter & a aspirational recruiting leader.

Actionable advice is close to non-existent; full of pathetic attempts at jokes reminding you you’re just reading an old school white dude, laden with phrases like “this person needs to be fired, fire that person”.
