Overall: Very nice product, excellent price, no issues!
I ordered two of this rug to place under new couches, for the purpose of protecting my hardwood floors from the sofas and to give a nice place to rest feet while rising from the couch. Both rugs arrived on time and in pristine condition - they were shipped double-wrapped in shrink plastic and capped with cardboard to avoid damage during shipping. Unwrapping them took a little attention - the cardboard caps were secured with packing tape and I had to carefully cut the tape without damaging the rugs underneath - but overall it was easy to unroll and get ready for use. There was a very faint initial odor, not unpleasant just strange, but that dissipated within a few hours of unrolling.
General Flattening took about 3 days (I laid them face-down with 5-7 pound weights at the corners/along the ends that had been on the interior of the roll), and while two corners total aren't perfectly flat yet, because my cats are trolls who kept chasing the rugs into walls and bunching them up, I expect those will be fine in another day or so with targeted use of weights.
As the attached image shows, the rugs are more than sizable enough to still display beautifully while serving as floor protectors. While the two rugs ended up with slight differences in exact color (the one by the windows is generally darker hued than the other), they coordinate with each other and my floors very well. I suspect the two rugs were manufactured with material from different dye lots.
Texture and pile are uniform for both rugs across all areas - there is no discernible differences between the rugs, or between sections of each rug when evaluated individually.
The short pile is excellent for creating a more forgiving texture underfoot without being difficult to maintain. as my three cats are high-shedding little monsters and gleefully rolled all over them right away and then threw a hairball, I have already had a chance to hit the rugs with both spot-cleaner and vacuum, and they were a breeze to clean - the hair came right up, and there was no dye loss with the spot cleaner.
The only potential downsides for anyone that I can think of is that they aren't particularly cushy, so if you want a 'plush' feeling you would need to get a rug pad. Also, the backing may abrade some flooring surfaces, and is not 'sticky' to prevent slipping - so again, a rug pad would solve that. In my case I specifically wanted a low-lying rug that has no padding (the seal on my hardwood is more than tough enough to handle occasionally sliding the rug for cleanup behind the couches), so that is a non-issue for me, but worth being aware of for others.
