Bounce Back (Loving On The Edge Series Book 2) Kindle Edition
Book 2 in the Loving On The Edge Series
All Sabrina Jacobs wants to do is focus on building her new life, and that starts with rebuilding her marriage. Her husband has moved back into their home and thankfully, exclusively into her bed, she’s making a name for herself with her home based finance business and she’s even starting to master the suburban mommy mafia game. Too bad she didn’t factor in being assigned as co-chair in charge of the annual Cougar and Cubs gala with her town nemesis. As busy as Sabrina is, she definitely doesn’t have time to deal with the likes of one Cassandra Stanton.
Currently a Cougar in waiting, Cassandra Stanton is well on track to being Edgewater town royalty, that is, if she can keep it together and pull off the fundraiser of the year. Too bad she’s saddled with co-chairing the event with the chronically clueless Sabrina Jacobs. Not to mention the fact that her husband, Richard, has chosen now to have his most inconvenient, can’t keep it in his pants, mid-life crisis. Cassandra just doesn’t have the time to deal with coddling him and pulling off the party of the year. But maybe the town’s new contractor can give her the tools she needs to work out all her problems and rebuild her life, only this time on her terms.
Can these two unlikely allies come together for a cause and give the Cougars of Edgewater a night they won’t soon forget, all the while gaining control of the chaos their own lives have become?

What I did not enjoy we're the typos, grammatical errors, etc. This author can write her behind off, but the errors were distracting enough for me to drop it down to 3 stars. I will still look forward to the next book; I just hope she gets a new editor.
Also, we get to see another marriage suffering the ravages of infidelity, that of Cassandra and Richard, and how each couple deals with such issues so differently because each situation is so different.
There were some scenes that lingered too long and added very little value to the story. The PTA meeting particularly. I could give less of a crap about who was nominated for what. It just dragged on with cattiness and some weird control dynamics. I was so happy when that meeting was over.
And there were inconsistancies with the previous book:
-In the 1st book Sabrina's husbands eyes were green.
-in this book they were brown. (Perhaps her wore contacts - I'm not sure)
And then there were the racial tensions and references that just came out of nowhere. The stuff about tokenism and the glad handing between the valet and the husband was contrived and not backed up by anything of substance. If you're gonna go there...Give it some punch.
I'm still not sure what this book was about.
>I take it as a veiled attempt to insinuate that we women can't have it all. We must choose between work and family. I'm not sure.
>Was this about villainizing an interracial couple and breaking apart that family?
>Was this about Sabrina, striking a balance?
I'm searching for substance, but found very little in this story.
I get the impression it was rushed and it showed in the editing.
Phil & Richard: Scum...in fact, that's an insult to scum
suburban assimilation: is really a thing, and jockeying for position is just sad
I really appreciated how we were allowed to experience startling revelations at the same time as the characters.
