The Predicament (The Proposition) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 603 ratings

Unlike her best friend Emma Fitzgerald, Casey Rossi had never been overly maternal. She much preferred parties with Patron to Pampers and pacifiers. Most of all, she enjoyed a healthy sex life with her husband, Nate. But all that changed with the birth of their daughter. While motherhood is a thrilling, new adventure and her love for Nate grows even stronger seeing him be a wonderful father, Casey can’t ignore how stagnant things have become between her once steamy sheets. Between her exhaustion and Nate’s schedule at the hospital, there’s little time or energy for sex. She can deal with sporting spit-up stained clothes and a few sleepless nights, but she can’t abide losing the white-hot connection with her hubs.

No matter what it takes, Casey is determined to resuscitate her flat lining sex life. She starts out seeking the advice of her friends, Emma and Megan. But she’s desperate enough to try anything that she even solicits the advice of reformed manwhore, Aidan Fitzgerald, which turns into a fiasco of epic proportions.

Will any of Casey’s intentions be successful at reigniting her lost bedroom heat, or will they fail and cause matters to fizzle even worse? It’s one hell of a predicament.

Quick easy read. Casey and Nate were made for each other h other.not as good as the other books but still good.

Casey and Nate's story was a whole lot of fun and touching at the same time. Casey has always been a woman who is comfortable with her sexuality but at times it also defined her in her own mind. After the birth of her daughter, life understandably changed for her and Nate with the addition of a beautiful little girl who became the center of their universe. Now Casey is worried that their sex life is suffering and decides to take matters into her own hands to fix it, setting up a series of disappointing/ amusing/ mortifying moments.

To her everlasting surprise, Aidan provides her with both support and excellent advice demonstrating just how much he has changed since they originally met. I absolutely adored seeing more Aidan and Emma in this story just as much as I enjoyed seeing Casey and Nate work through their issues to reconnect. And now, I must go re-read Aidan and Emma's stories because I miss them so much- thank you Ms. Ashley for a wonderful return trip to the lives of this group of friends!

There are so many reasons why I enjoyed this book - the structure, writing, plot, dialogues, characters, and relationships, everything we have come to expect from any Katie Ashley book. Bonus points having my favorite characters from The Proposition series, especially Aidan and Emma. But I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention the theme which I think is very relevant and relatable.

Couples are often surprised just how much a baby changes their relationship and their lives, Casey and Nate is no exception. With the birth of Olivia, it changed virtually every component of their lives. No doubt that having Liv brought them even closer. But Casey is worried that it can chip away at their relationship, leading to their sexual dysfunction and emotional disconnection and she’s not ready for the potential pitfalls.

Will Casey be successful in finding the key to keeping her relationship with Nate happy and sexually satisfying?

The Predicament is a book that will make you think and feel. So many realizations and lessons in such a short book. Amazing! It's a fun concept that's fleshed out in such a meaningful and memorable way, and I loved every minute I spent reading it. I'm so excited that I'm adding this to my "push it on everyone" pile! And once you read it, we've got to discuss it.

I would happily recommend this book to readers who love adult fiction with humor, heart and a dose of happiness.

This was a quick read. I have always loved Casey. She is the type of girl that every girl wants as a best friend. I enjoyed getting to see inside of Casey and Nate's marriage.

Case is struggling to get her sexy back after giving birth to her daughter. She will stop at nothing and I mean NOTHING to get what she wants. Nate loves Casey and still finds her unbelievably sexy, but we all know what a woman feels like after giving birth. Nothing fits, her ass looks bigger, her boobs are huge. You get the gist of it. During a sexual act, Casey does the unthinkable. This is when she turns for advise from Aidan Fitzgerald. We all know what kind of advice he will give, but she listens.

I laughed out loud reading The Predicament several times. I absolutely LOVE Casey. I loved getting to meet Nate, since we didn't get a lot of him in the previous books.

Like I said, this is a quick read. You will laugh, you will sigh and you will love Casey even more when you finish the book.

I loved the "Proposition Series, I loved Aiden and Emma and all the books that took them from making the baby arrangement to becoming a married couple with kids. I loved The Pairing too, just loved that book, Pesh stole my heart from the very beginning when I first met him and I was thrilled when he got his own book and his very own well deserved happy ending with Megan . I loved when author Katie Ashley even merged her two series together with the connection to her Runaway Train Series which is also a really good, well written and very entertaining series . So I was just hoping for the same good writing and entertaining reading since this is more of a Novella and I thought great, a little more time to play catch up with some of my favorite fictional characters. Disappointed to say that this read was just silly. It just was a cat and mouse read for Casey and Nate to find" Sexy Time" with their new baby in the mix and their working schedules, but it just got to be a really dumb and redundant read for me. Don't get me wrong it was great to read about all "The Gang " back together but this Novella didn't take us as far into the future as where The Pairing had taken us, that I didn't like. And it just got to be too silly of a storyline with Nate and Casey trying to get their sexy back and having such silly things happen to block it, from one of them falling asleep, Casey freaking out and running out of the house, (that was a dumb part) !, to a curtain fire , and the silliness just didn't stop until the very end. Just a disappointing Novella for me, was just hoping for a better storyline to enjoy reading about all the fun characters that Katie Ashley had introduced to us in this series and this storyline was just unoriginal , and juvenile and a bit lame I thought. It would have been a better read if she wrote the Novella about everyone getting together for a holiday meal or taking a vacation with all the gang together and then throw in some funny antics and touching moments, because seriously for me this story was just silly and I was expecting better. Disappointed ,It was a ok read.
