No Woman Left Behind (A Lexi Carmichael Mystery Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 1,142 ratings

My mother's life goal has been to see me, geek extraordinaire Lexi Carmichael, happily married. So bringing my first boyfriend, Slash, home for dinner has me hyperventilating. Things get a lot worse when bullets start flying over our corn chowder.

Now the entire alphabet soup of government agencies want my help finding the man behind the attack--Johannes Broodryk, a cyber mercenary I foiled on my last case. He wants revenge and he's taken something of mine to ensure I'll play, so it's game on. But the government has its own agenda, and Slash is not on board with the plan. Things are a bit bumpy in paradise.

Although I'm more comfortable with computer code than commandos, I've been assigned a team of Navy SEALs to help bring Broodryk down. The question is, will they survive me long enough to solve his cryptic puzzles and save the day?

Review

"The Lexi Carmichael mystery series runs a riveting gamut from hilarious to deadly, and the perfectly paced action in between will have you hanging onto Lexi's every word and breathless for her next geeked out adventure." ~USA TODAY

"If you like hot SEALs and deciphering clues (and did I mention hot SEALs?), this book is definitely for you!" ~Goodreads

"Would you believe me if I said the cyber war against hackers, a U.S. Navy Seal team and one accident prone geek equals a truly entertaining, action-packed read? Well, in Julie Moffett's world, it does!" ~Goodreads

"This book is the perfect blend of humor and mystery, with a bit of romance. I recommend very highly. Julie Moffett is on my must read authors' list." ~Goodreads

"Lexi grows and changes a lot in this book. Don't get me wrong, she's still the hilariously geeky, klutzy, and completely literal girl she always was, but she gains more depth and connections. The storyline was full of suspense, action, and definitely humor. My whole family was laughing at me as I couldn't help laughing out loud at Lexi's misadventures with a certain " handle." It really was too funny!" ~Goodreads

"I thought No Place like Rome was funny but this book had me laughing so hard I cried as Lexi single handily brought a Navy Seal to his knees." ~Goodreads

"One could never go wrong with this exciting detective series. Socially awkward Lexi is a hoot, and her character provides comic relief when the mystery becomes too deep and the romance gets too hot. There are bullets flying, intense action and hunky Navy SEALs! Moffett's idea and imagination never cease." ~Romantic Times

No Woman Left Behind
No Woman Left Behind by Julie MoffettLexi Carmichael mystery series #6. Best read as part of the series in order. The terrorist from the prior book, Broodryk, is upset that Lexi and Elvis were able to ruin his plans and had him running away. He’s back and this time has made it up to Lexi to try to solve his puzzles to save the world or die trying. Lexi and a group of navy SEALs travel to the Central African Republic in an attempt stop the terrorists.Poor Lexi has to endure quite a bit in this particular book from huge spiders, to jumping out of a plane and of course, trying to out puzzle a hacker.Fast moving and gripping.I’m enjoying the characters as they grow and evolve and relationships change and mature. Im looking forward to more of this series.

Another absolutely brilliant installment in this wonderful series by Julie Moffett. Lexi is a socially awkward but brilliant geek-girl (and proud of it) who's showing up of an international cyber-terrorist has put her directly in his evil sights. When one of Lexi's best friends is used as bait, she puts herself front and centre to attempt the rescue. This is what I love about Lexi - yes the main mission was to shut down the cyber-terrorist but for Lexi, the main mission was getting her friend out alive. Loyalty is the name of the game.

There were lots of laugh-out-loud moments when Lexi prepares to take Slash to meet her parents. The actual meeting itself ended up going pear-shaped, but not in the way Lexi envisioned.

I really love how the technical aspects of this series are never lost on me, even though I'm totally technically-challenged. The descriptive nature is just perfect.

Around the world we go with Lexi, with a dedicated team of Navy SEAL's to help her out this time. The ending is full of suspense and surprises but at the end of the day, Lexi and Slash save the day and each other.

Can't wait for the next installment. Fantastic stuff :)

Awesome! I loved this book, now I have to wait until to December for another installment! So I have been impatiently waiting for this Lexi adventure to come out and was not disappointed. It starts out with a trip to Lexi's parents' house with Slash for dinner. I wondered how this was whole meet the parents thing was going to work out since Slash is supposed to be this super secret agent-Lexi thought he was just an urban legend before she met him- and he is also a wealthy businessman, so how were they going to assimilate him into their family dynamic? You can imagine, Lexi was super anxious and Slash was trying to play it cool and be as honest as possible without saying too much. It's pretty comical but I always feel Lexi's pain too. Then our favorite cyber-terrorist throws down the gauntlet in the middle of dinner with the 'rents when his minion carries out an assault and nearly kills Lexi. That puts Slash into super spy mode instead of the good looking computer geek the parents think he is. Lexi also gets in the zone to make sure her parents are out of harms way. This pretty much covers what the description told us about the book :-) But that is just the beginning. Lexi gets an ultimatum from Broodryk in the form of a video on a thumb drive that was delivered during the assault at her parents house. The ultimatum involves the safety of someone she cares a lot about. If that's not enough of an incentive, Broodryk has a cyber attack that he is planning that will take out key US infrastructures. I'm not into all the technical computer stuff they talk about in these books, I get the gist and that's it. So I can't be more descriptive about this cyber attack other than it would be of epic proportions. I liked this book because there was so much more interaction between Lexi and Slash and Lexi and her family. You can see the bond between Lexi and Slash getting stronger and Lexi is really growing as a person because of all the new interactions with other people she is having to take on. I thought Lexi was awesome-chasing all over Africa looking for Broodryk and playing his game. She wasn't alone though-she had the help of the US Navy SEALS! Picture it: Lexi and following orders and part of a military operation (actually operationS plural)??? So this book was pretty awesome, you will want to clear your schedule so you can just sit down and read the whole thing. I like all of the Lexi Carmichael books because I don't mind reading them again, they are like favorite movies that I can watch over and over again, except in this instance it's read and it takes longer than watching a movie :-) Stop reading the reviews already and start reading the book!

Book 6 in the series does not disappoint. Of the 6 books, I have enjoyed this one the most based on incorporation of military mission.

Lexi Carmichael is convinced she is about to face her greatest challenge ever—introducing her new boyfriend Slash to her parents. The dinner conversation is not thrilling Lexi, and as she is about to say something to her father, shots ring out, narrowly missing her. Slash takes off after the sniper, while Lexi frantically works to hide her family from danger. When she learns the sniper was after her, and not after Slash, she is pulled into a terrifying ordeal. A cyber-criminal mastermind blames Lexi for causing him to lose not only a huge amount of his money, but his reputation, as well. He wants revenge. When he takes something from Lexi, she sets out to get it back. Every government agency is on the hunt for this man, and they need Lexi’s help to get to him before he carries out a threat that will cause problems around the world. With a small contingent of Navy SEALs protecting her, Lexi does what she does best—uses her smarts to save the day.

What a great read! The action is nonstop, and I found it impossible to put this book down. This fast-paced, well-plotted story held my attention from beginning to end. I was glued to the pages and read this book in one sitting—I didn’t even try to stop. Once again, the author has taken Lexi out of her comfort zone. With each book, Lexi grows and changes. She is a great character. She is smart, thinks quickly “on her feet”, is loyal to those she loves, and is completely genuine. The usual secondary characters aren’t around this time, but once you read the book, you will understand why.

I love this series. It is one of my favorites, and I strongly recommend it. Give it a try. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Happy reading!

This was a five star story right from the opening. Only Lexi could have trouble arrive while she introduced her parents to Slash at the dining room table. Lexi's true loyalty to friends is displayed as she joins the Navy Seals on a mission to get Elvis, her best friend , out of the hands of the crazy guy they had both crossed in the previous book. Lexi becomes an honorary seal and wins the game. The Plot is great with twists and turns and Lexi's humour along the way. It was a book hard to put down since you just had to know what was going to happen next.
