Let it be known that this is a preview to K'wan's upcoming release in the Hood Rat series titled, No Shade. This entry serves as a preview, an appetizer... spicy wingettes to hold you over untill the steak is prepared. I loved this story, and it is a classic K'wan structure. Old characters are brought in and give hints of the future. New characters are introduced, and backfill you on the past. There is a lot going on in these few pages, and if you read closely... if you read outside the lines and think outside of the box, you'll catch the real message that is sent here. Shout Out to The Turk, and Ms. Pat's crew, my absolute favorites. #Salute.

Love me some K'wan but this was not his best. The book started out grasping my attention then it waned. Reese was the best character in the book and at times her absence was noticeable. He should have narrated more of her in there to maintain the book's substance. Other than that it was a decent read.

Even though this was a short read, it was excellent. This will bring you into the next installment of the Hood Rat series called No Shade. You get a chance to see what Ms. Pat and her friends are up to. You will also read about Reese and Billy, Wise and Dolla, and this new dude named Turk A.K.A the butcher and once you read it you will see why. I can't wait to read No Shade when it comes out.
