Having discovered Shakespeare and Masterpiece Theater at an early age, she developed a lifelong love of the British Isles. In this charming story with elements similar to a fairy tale, Jordan, a commoner from Tennessee, ends up engaged to a prince. But that’s where the resemblance to a fairy tale ends, because, as the title indicates, she never quite becomes a princess. Not that she wants to. She doesn’t love the prince, but she’s determined to help him keep his evil cousin from taking the throne. Although various unforeseeable problems arise, both Jordan and the prince eventually end up with the people they love, and the ending is just as satisfying as any fairy tale.

This is a excellent, informative book. The subject is timely, as the disease that the main character suffers from is one that is prevalent among teenagers. Another wonderful Traci Hall book!
