He is determined to have her for his own at all costs, but soon finds that the price to be with Reign is a steep one, even for a man as wealthy as Don B. K'wan be going to work with the pen!!! I do not think he even knows how to write anything bad. It amazes me, but not really, how he continues to drop urban lit that is so full of life and intricate details.

At long last, Reign makes a strong debut. The cameo in Love and Gunplay gave a foreshadowing introduction to the woman, but this book brought it home. I loved her character and was hoping for more. Reign had a chip on her shoulder and with good reason. But the way she carried herself made her one tough broad. The way she handled Don B. will FOREVER be etched in my memory. If you are a fan of the Hoodrat series, then you know the Don is as grimey and greasy as they come. His dance with the devil's wife was long overdue. I just wished Reign would have acted on less impulse and been more strategic about some of her moves, towards the end. Crazy thing is, I knew how it would play out but I was so stimulated while reading about Reign's work. I savored those pages and read them multiple times, while squealing like a pig in fresh mud!

Lord Scientific.....my, my, my....Lord is right. I was CTFU at his situation and that was a shocker. K'wan is known for unexpected twists and he delivered BIG TIME. That was a hot mess if I ever read about one and I believe that chicken is going ot come home to roost. THAT will be a moment, I cannot wait to read about.

Now..what woman doesn't like Diamonds? This dude was too cool for me and I was loving me some him. His demeanor and attitude got me a lil excited! There is one line he says, that still has me ROTFL. It was so classic; I had to post it on my FB. I hope K'wan decides to dip into the swamp waters of the boot and give us a taste of Diamonds history and the cold-blooded Minister. Men of few words are the most intriguing and Minister is that dude.

DON B!!!!!! LMAO!!! I cannot stop laughing. This dude is all bark and no bite. And when I really put my mind to it; he has always been that way. I mean, he is about blasting people and talking down because his lap dog, Devil will put in work. Funny how Devil didn't step in when he was slapped TWICE by Zo-Pound and Devil was not present for the Reign Games! Don B got a SMIDGEON of what he deserves and I hope to read about more in Animal II. At this point, killing him is not necessary. I do not think another character can carry as much hate as Don B does from the fans! I can finally admit, the Don is a necessary evil. I think embarassment and shame will serve as a better death for him.

Not sure what G is up to but I can't wait to read all about it. I also want to find out the connection between him and Devil.

K'wan delivers work that is 1. Worth the wait, and 2. Vernacular brillance. He truly writes every book with a hunger that lets readers know he is about this life. K'wan is not just writing because it's a hobby or a way to make money. No, K'wan is writing because it's his passion and his fingers have been blessed by the writing Gods.

Honor. Love. Loyalty. Sex. Death. Usually that would be a tag line for one of my Roman books. This time I'm talking about one of Harlem's most talented writers, K'wan. To me authors are celebrities and it's an unwritten rule that once you've "made it" as a celebrity you only need one name. Jordan, Beyonce', Montana, Ah-nold... you get the idea. K'wan is one of my celebrity authors who are like that.

When an author puts out a book we rejoice. When they put out an eBook between the yearly releases, it's like extra caramel on... well... just about anything. This time out the eBook is `Purple Reign'. Chapter 1 opens this story with every man's dream (if you have to ask then you might wanna get your testosterone level checked) and it doesn't slow down.

We head to Miami, and Miami is the place where you can get it ALL in your face! The saying is "revenge is a dish best served cold". Apparently it should also be served naked. Violence is a distance cousin of lust and lust is the horny uncle we all have and try to ignore. Don B, Lord Scientific, and other brothers that have had their rep forged in concrete, prove that they are no stronger than the regular man when it comes to women.

What's shocking is the manner in which it happens.

One of the great joys I have as a reader is reading authors who write to the point of no return, past the point of no return, and then pimp slap the point of no return with pimp hand so hard you're left wondering if they really meant to write that. Well K'wan did and... damn!

`Purple Reign' is a shorter version of what K'wan does best. Tell stories. And the brotha' does it well. Very, very well.

Highest praise to K’wan
If there’s a story to be told he’s The Man To Tell It
Never disappoints, always on point.
Here I go again, stepping into his world of gangsta law and order. Payback!

Trouble does indeed follow Don B & his entourage around. In Purple Reign their mayhem continued & sent some on different paths. It was good to see the Diamonds is still shining. Awaiting a deeper dive into Trap & Moochie as well as seeing who G truly is. Good quick read 🥲but now I’m in a waiting period.

I have read everything by K'wan, one of my favorite authors. Oh, except Slim Goodie, bout to one click that. But, I have never been disappointed. The book captured my attention from page one. The violence, the sex, the characters, the surprises, all the makings of a great read. It kept me guessing, and I never saw some of the stuff coming. Big up to the author. Cop this book, another banger from K'wan. Expected nothing less.

Well K'wan has done it again. And again I say there are no words in the human language that does this story-weaving monster justice. This little novella had all the elements of a novel except length.New authors THIS is what a novella is suppose to look like. Great story line. Characters that are alive. And an ending that makes you say I gotta read the next book! With K'wan whether it's a short story, novella,or full novel you're guaranteed high quality work. K'wan I salute you.

I enjoyed this novella by Kwan. He doesn't disappoint. Reading about the Don again and his mishap and that Reign was off the chart. We had drama, drugs, murder, deceit and that bathroom scene was priceless. Waiting to read book 2.

This read was so good! That damn Reign! Don B. is a hot mess. I need to know G's back story. I got so many questions. I'm sitting here in awe. I read this way too fast, but it was just that good!

I enjoyed this short story by K'wan, The story contains all the elements he would have in a full novel. I was entertained how Diamond gave Don B a lesson he won't ever forget. Don B deserved the terror that was delivered to him after all the time he spent treating other women like dirt. He got what he deserved. The other characters were entertaining as well. There are some surprises by other members of Don B's cliché. Purple Reign a good and quick read.
