Okay, I am definitely not shy about my romance books. Romance books have definitely come a long way. We as fans no longer have to go way back of the bookstores in some dark corner to get our fix.Romance is finally front and center as it deserves. And then comes the Kindle, total game changer. Kindle and Amazon introduced me to so many talented Romance authors. I know my favorite authors, but what do you do in between new releases? You consider the Amazon recommendations. It's a hit and miss BUT when they get it right, it's fantastic. Thus ,this review.
Passion by Jordan Silver is an amazing, hot, erotic, totally unexpected romance between two people. It has all the juicy stuff I look for in my books.
Totally Alpha,domineering,know-it-all,devoted,obsessed hero in love with a smartass,independent,give-as-good-as-she-gets heroine. Great, totally hot sex scenes. But, did I mention they are teenagers in their senior year? While I appreciated that romance books should be for and about everyone, this totally threw me off a bit. I didn't know this author, and if this is the only book I will read of hers, then I will think that this is all she writes about. Books for young, young adults. I read the blurb, I knew they were teenagers. Based on the reviews through, I decided to give it a try.
At first I couldn't understand the passion and intensity from one so young. Is this really how it is nowadays? Did I grow up in a closet? For while I went though my own angsty teen years and saw others go through the same, this was really out there. Don't get me wrong, this was some fantastic storytelling. All the elements are there. This story is mainly about redemption in so many levels. And that love prevails, no matter what. Between a man and a woman, between families.
But they are teenagers...But I guess this was what the story called for. The backfighting and pettiness and cruelty is the hallmark of teen years. The story called for that setting. That, I remember.
My dilemma is not Ms.Silver's fault though. I am sure this book was primarily meant for this age group. And being a fan of Romance and an amazing HEA ending, I wouldn't have missed reading this book for the world. Being a card bearing Romance junkie, if I knew how this story will unfold, I would still buy and read it despite my "slight" reservation. So what did I do? I did what the other reviewers did,Conveniently forgot their age.
Thank you for this totally smoking story. Already ordered more of her books.

So Josh- there’s dominant and there’s abusive, he was a tad shy of abusive in some of those scenes, especially the one at the tree. I wish they were a little older and their parents were more of parents. Lol. He literally did whatever he wanted and he was only 17. But, I loved his turn around, that saved the story for me.

Mild Spoilers: I enjoyed reading this book a lot. The H is OTT possessive and jealous, which I loved. The H had experience but was not a manhole. He stopped being with other women in any way once he met her. He was totally devoted to her. This author usually writes a lot of erotica but this book, in my opinion would not qualify although there is a plenty of hot s_x. It is longer than the majority of the author’s books. It is around 219 pages whereas most of her books are 100 pages and under. I am very happy that there is no cheating and there is a happy ending. It is one of my keepers.

I loved the book but I know that it contains some triggers for some readers. There is their issue of their ages. I have children their ages and agree in reality would not want the H anywhere near my 17-year-old daughter. However, this is a romance book and the same rules I apply to my life are not the same ones for the books I read. I enjoy readings about OTT possessive men but would have a restraining order against most of them in real life. (My husband is so not OTT possessive and so it nice to read about men who are.) I do not mind that they are young. It is unusual to have OTT possessive heroes be teenagers and so I liked that. There is issue of the spanking and one time he did use a belt (or whatever he used. I do not want to go back and reread that part to be sure.) I agree that one scene was too much I normally avoid books that the couple if love add pain to their relationship for whatever reason. However in my limited experience, this was not a D/S book. No other actions/behavior that could indicate that. Also there was no labeling of d/s, no words and clubs. It was a way for him to control her. (I am not saying it is ok or not ok for him to spank her for that reason, just stating what was explained the reader.)

Another trigger for some is the cursing. If so, avoid this book because it contains it. If none a readers triggers are mentioned above, then I believe it is a good book for an adult reader. Even though in my opinion, it is not erotic per se, there is some s_x in it and so I would not let any of my teenagers read it.

This book really has it all. Takes place in a high school setting. Young male spots and Instantly wants new young female arrival to the school. But he plays it cool. It’s not until some other student tries asking her out that he goes up and finally speaks to her...just to whisper “no.” It’s the mind@&$? courtship. He doesn’t really want to date her. But doesn’t want anyone else to either. She’s determined to buck some of his dominance and has a tendency to run off. He typically chases. He’s also capable of completely freezing her out. I cried. What she felt, I felt. It was written in such a way my heart broke right along with her.
When he finally realizes his mistake she’s gotten really sick. She just was not eating.
Some of the best parts of this book are how Josh cares for her after her collapse(as well as before it.)
He’s actually a VERY attentive boyfriend. Carrie honestly had a hard time trusting him due to the issues she has with her mom. He wanted instant trust and devotion and she wasn’t quite there yet, she is a feisty heroine who is not just going to do as she is told!! No. Not her. Even though sometimes she really is just spiting herself. Very good story!! Very steamy as well!! The hero is extremely dominant. The story evolved from the authors love of twilight. There are many parallels without the paranormal element. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

My fave Jordan Silver book to date. I have re-read this story soooo many times now! A story of a young, high school age, but mentally older alpha male and his instant desire/want for a seemingly feisty almost bratty spoiled teenage girl. I wanted to hate her in the beginning and I began to think that this book would be my least fave Jordan book but as things developed and we came to know the young couple as individuals and as a couple I came to identify with our young lass.

A good and easy read with some thought provoking moments... A firm reminder not to judge a book by its cover or a person by the initial meeting... take your time and give them a chance first....

I read this the first time in a nice warm bath with a glass of wine and before I knew it three hours had passed!!!!

The only thing that would have made me love this story more is a little more detail about them into the future at the end... however given the sequel Rebound I guess this was solved :)

I really enjoyed this book as usual the intensity displayed by her alpha male is great. Even though both leads were only 17 I truly believed in their relationship and their love for each other I think sometimes you know when you have met the love of your life and they were definitely it for each other. As I said I really enjoyed this.
