I hate reading 300 some odd pages and have no ending. If you want people to read your books, don’t end the story just hanging. I bought the set of the books but will not read another one.

I am familiar with the area and have visited Alcatraz. The story was more about the two main characters and their story for the 8 years they have been partners. I quit reading because it seemed to me that the mystery was taking second place to the partners interactions.
I may try this author again but I doubt it.

Too much background info not enough action. The psychologist sessions were a bit much. Author needs to get back to basics.
