About the author

ML Hamilton has been teaching high school English and journalism in Central California for the last 30 years. Teaching students to appreciate literature has made her career rewarding; however, she always dreamed of publishing her own novel.
That dream came true. Her first novel, Emerald, was published by Wild Wolf Publishing in 2010. In the summer of 2011, she published her first contemporary fiction, Ravensong, and six months later, launched the Peyton Brooks' series. The Avery Nolan Adventures and Peyton Brooks, FBI launched in 2014. In 2016, she ventured into the cozy mystery craze with her cozy mystery series, Zion Sawyer Cozy Mysteries.
Between teaching and writing, she spends her free time walking her canine children, Bailey and Jessami, and visiting her grandbabies. She is the president of Northern California Publishers and Authors.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2024I hate reading 300 some odd pages and have no ending. If you want people to read your books, don’t end the story just hanging. I bought the set of the books but will not read another one.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2022I am familiar with the area and have visited Alcatraz. The story was more about the two main characters and their story for the 8 years they have been partners. I quit reading because it seemed to me that the mystery was taking second place to the partners interactions.
I may try this author again but I doubt it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not her best book
Too much background info not enough action. The psychologist sessions were a bit much. Author needs to get back to basics.

Very enjoyable, only problem was I became confused with jumping back and forth in time. Looking forward to next book.
