Comment: Very Good+/Very Good; Vintage Hardcover with scarce DJ, First Edition 1929 Grosset & Dunlap 212 pages, followed by seven pages of ads for other boys series books. Very Good+, in a VG DJ. Minor shelf/edge wear to red cloth boards with black spine titles and front cover titles in brown but outlined in black - corners sharp. Slight shelf lean. Minor shelf/edge wear, a few closed tears, age-darkening and dust soiling to original unclipped uncoated and notoriously fragile DJ - now in mylar. Despite the minor flaws of the DJ, it's still beautiful artwork. The jacket lists to the 9th title of this series. Artwork (frontispiece) by Walter S. Rogers. Previous owner inscription on FFEP - all other pages are clean and unmarked. Rear inside cover has the bookstore stamp of the famous and sadly long gone Hudsons Book Store which was a part of the Hudsons Department Store of Detroit, Michigan. This is the ninth book in a series of fifteen. Per Mattson, #23500, this is binding variant #1. Don Sturdy travels with his uncles and runs into adventure in various exotic locales. A Stratemeyer Syndicate production under the Victor Appleton pen name, 15 titles were published between 1925 and 1935.The series was advertised to take on the popularity of Tom Swift , another series.
