Skippable storyline

If you could go straight right into reading the first book, do so because assholery and naïveté just shine through with this one. I don’t mind skipping this one in audio format because dear 'ol Stephen Dexter only narrated one chapter, and our hero was a true blue jackass on that one. I already proceeded to read the first book, so let’s see if they redeemed themselves somewhat.

Great prequel

One Cruel Night was a nice prequel to Cruel Money. It gives a little backstory of what’s to come in book 1. The characters had good chemistry. The book covers their night out, from walking through the city, to almost getting arrested for trespassing and ending with a sexy, intimate scene.

THE BACKGROUND TO AN EPIC 5 ⭐️ TRILOGY

This prequel wasn’t initially available so, after listening to book 1, I watched and waited for the other 2 books in the trilogy to become available because I absolutely hate the wait in-between books. And when all the books were finally released, I saw this was available too.. so I started from this prequel - which is a short background to the main story which starts 6 years after this and goes on to span another 2 years. However, if you judge the story from this you may be misguided into thinking “meh”.. and miss this rollercoaster trilogy.. which (IMO) is anything but meh. It builds and builds, twists and continually turns as the shocks, angst, emotional suspense, passion, turmoil, sex, secondary characters and character growth creates a heady cocktail of delicious feels. And Virginia Rose’s outstanding narration brought all the multi-layered characters, and the riveting plot (told mainly from the heroine’s PoV), to life.

Worth a credit? It wasn’t much so I just bought it.. but I do think that, in a an ideal world, it should’ve just been added at the start of book 1.

A charming and satisfying prequel! Perfect narrators!

SO GOOD!!!! This is a prequel and ends on a cliffhanger so I quickly jumped right into the first book, “Cruel Money” to find out more! Clearly prequel had me sucked into the storyline that I couldn’t even wait to start the first one! It was charming, swoon worthy, beautiful but then also had me yelling at the book at the same time! Such a satisfying and enjoyable prequel!

5 Paris Changes Everything Stars!!

This is the perfect prologue to this newest series by Ms. Linde. In my opinion this should be listened to prior to starting book one so there's a deeper understanding of why Natalie has the feelings she does for Penn and what they all mean!

The narrators are truly fabulous and my first listens by both of them but definitely not my last. They bring a great depth to the characters and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them bring this story to life.

I highly recommend this book, this series, this author and these narrators!!

Interesting Prequel!

This was a fun story but really short. I read book 1,then came back to this book. It was entertaining and plausible in the way the H swept the h off her feet. There was good heat between the MCs and they definitely liked to have fun.

One Cruel Night

My first 🎧book by this author and it was okay a bit of a slow burn but not bad. The narration could’ve been better if we would’ve heard more of Stephen Dexter. Let’s hope the next book picks up the pace & spice level. Is it worth the credit? Hmmm I’m not sure it’s such a short book for me right this moment it’s a no but thankfully it was from the Free Catalog.
