Publisher's summary

USA Today bestselling author K. A. Linde returns to the Royal Houses series with House of Curses: the story of Kerrigan Argon, a half-Fae, half-human as she seeks her place in an unforgiving world filled with magic, mayhem, and romance. Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Holly Black, and V. E. Schwab.

Against all odds, Kerrigan Argon passed her dragon training. She's now an official member of the Society. Everything should be well. But somehow, nothing is.

Her dark prince, Fordham Ollivier, has disappeared in hopes to beak his curse.

An unwanted wedding looms in her future. And the council election draws ever nearer. An election that she's been unceremoniously nominated for.

If all of that wasn't enough, the Red Masks, an anti-half Fae, anti-human terrorist organization, are gaining ground. All because they have a spy inside the mountain, inside the Society itself.

Someone is leading these monsters.

And Kerrigan is determined to stop them at all costs.

The Suspense Continues!

I have completely fallen in love with this series, although I did like books 1 and 2 better than this one. The plot itself was great and suspenseful, especially towards the second half of the book, but the first half wasn't as enticing as the previous 2 books. Also, Amy McFadden, though a WONDERFUL narrator, changed Fordham's voice a bit in this book, making him sound a bit like Tieren, which confused me at first. Can't wait for my next credit to download Book 4 and preorder Book 5!

Still just as good!

4.5 Stars 🌟

Sometimes, even though I try really hard, I will forget about a series that I am reading when there is a wait for the next book to come out in the series. This is what happened with this series. I completely tore through the first couple of books, then I'm guessing that the next book wasn't written (or maybe it wasn't out in audio) but regardless, it kind of slipped off my list. Then, the other day I saw something, I actually think it was the release of the 4th or 5th book (I'd have to go look, I don't remember off the top of my head) and I went back to Goodreads to see if I had read any books in this series. Imagine my surprise when I realized that not only had I definitely read the series, but I REALLY liked it.

So - yep....JUMPED back in with both feet :)

I was THRILLED to be back in the world with Kerrigan and Fordham, even if those two crazy kids are separated for most of the book. See, even though that is one of my pet peeves, I was still so happy to be back in that world that I was willing to make an exception.

In this book a lot is happening. I don't remember if we knew who the bad guy was before this book, but boy oh boy do we find out who it is now. Bummer dude.

Kerrigan is her wonderful self - full of confidence but missing Ford.

As much as I could go on - the 4th book is out so I've got another book to read. Gotta go.

Quite the ride, excellent story and narration

This part of the series kept readers from ever quite getting their proverbial feet under them. The author brought foreshadowing out to a new extreme but still managed to surprise and twist at every step.

The narrator uses her talent to put the reader right into the story. You aren't listening, you are living the story!

Excellent

I very rarely give five stars but this series deserves a five star rating! It keeps the reader on the edge of their seat and is incredibly hard to “pay down”/ stop listening. I can’t wait for the next book!!!
