What a Game Changer! Love it!!!!

What a Game Changer! Love it!!!!
I was a bit hesitant in buying these for my two dogs based on a few of the negative reviews. My experience however is completely different. My family and I recently moved to a house in the suburbs with a salt marsh on one side of our property. We don't like shock collars and didn't want to spend $2500+ on an invisible fence for that reason. We often visit a family farm and go to the beach and wanted something that we could use anywhere, so when I came across Wagz I became very excited. We have two dogs both medium to large and I was concerned that without the shock they would not stay in our yard. One of our dogs goes out and gets so dirty rolling in the mud and marsh and our other dog will chase after anything and will take off so needless to say we were desperate to find something that worked and would not shock our dogs but also have GPS tracking ability just in case. The unboxing was very nice experience and the set up was easy, we bought two collars and they attached easily to our dogs existing collars. Each one came with two battery's and after using them for a while I understand why. The battery life is about 12-18 hours but while one battery is in the collar the other one is charging and it is a simple matter of taking one out and putting a fresh one in and as long as you do that the battery life is not an issue. Setting up the geofence safe area was incredibly easy and intuitive, it took literally 10 seconds. The app is nice and you can tell it was designed by people who love dogs as there is an incredible amount of information such as sleep time, activity, steps, temperature and companion time. I also appreciated a discount on the second subscription which is great if you have more than one dog like we do.The deterrents are vibration and ultrasonic along with an audible tone and combined they have been extremely effective in keeping our girls inside the safe zone. In reading some of the other reviews complaining about the GPS not being accurate, I found it to be very accurate. I think people have unrealistic expectations as it is not pin point like burying a wire in the ground. GPS has a variance and as long as you have a large enough yard to take that into consideration it works incredibly well, at least it does for us. I really like the ability to set up multiple geofences wherever I go so that I can bring the dogs to the farm or the beach and make sure they don't go where they aren't supposed to go.So far this has been a game changer for our family and at a fraction of what the alternatives cost!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea, horrible execution
Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2021
I needed this to work and it didn't. Giving it 2 stars because the app is great but...

GeoFence went off even when my dog was 20 feet from the edge. I Expanded the GeoFence to encompass a larger area just in case, still went off in the house when my dog was sitting doing nothing. The map attached shows the GeoFence locations I had established. My dog never left the location within the Black Lines. But WAGZ showed Ozzy way off in my other neighbors' yards even though he was within our.

The GPS is way off. it would say that Ozzy was in the neighbors yard but was still in the house. Then when outside it would say Oz was in the other neighbors yard while still firmly in our yard.

Then there is the battery life. Yes, support notes that it can be between 5-10 hours with "up to 24 hours" and I didn't think this would be a big issue because there's two batteries. Ends up being a huge issue. It consistently would only work for 5-6 hours. When you work 8 that's an issue if your dog has the ability to go in and out of the house.

I really needed this to work because Ozzy likes to dart out the door. And even though it does not shock it is rather cruel to go off and buzz him when he is doing nothing wrong. I liked the ability to set up "fences" since my wife and the family like to RV. But with the GPS so inaccurate we can't do that.

I really needed this to work. Maybe it will work better in future iterations but I am returning it and searching for something else...
