At the Deep End: In Deep: Book 3 of 4 (First Time Lesbian) Kindle Edition

4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 50 ratings

How soon is too soon to get married?

Bri and Dee met, fell in lust, and threw themselves head long into a committed long distance relationship following a vacation fling on a hot Miami night.

For DeeDee it was love at first sight and Bri was just willing to go along for the ride. They moved fast, and though living miles apart was a struggle, the distance only worked in their favor, creating the space for them to grow a bond rooted in friendship and trust.

But their still-budding relationship isn’t without some complications. They were only six months in when DeeDee proposed and it's only been over a year. DeeDee still struggles with sharing all of her truths and trauma and Bri worries, maybe what is still left to learn might be big enough to unravel everything they’ve built one day.

Bri’s love for DeeDee has never wavered, but with their wedding fast approaching, Bri finds herself worrying about the length of their courtship, questioning the strength of their relationship and their future together as a whole.

Is love alone enough to carry a marriage through the good times and the bad? And do they have what it takes to make what they’ve started last forever?

A creative soul, mother of three, wifey, and professional daydreamer, Deja was born and raised in a land of pristine beaches and palm trees called Miami. Her love for all things books started early. At eight, she wrote her first short story on a typewriter her mother gifted her so she’d stop writing on the walls.

Being able to share her stories has always been a dream and today, she writes steamy stories featuring queer and bi-curious women of color in various stages of love and relationships.

When she’s not dreaming up alternate universes, she’s hanging out with her little tribe, watching something where the world ends or restaurant hopping.

Okay. I am definitely sprung on this series. I really enjoyed every book. I'm just waiting to see if DeeDee is going to let Bri open her up 🤭

I love their love story and can’t wait to finish the series. But boy did Bri get on my ever loving nerves. She was so indecisive, insecure and sensitive. It’s like Deedee was made for her cause I would’ve left her at the door. But I enjoyed all of the different dynamics of the story. Ma’am I also don’t appreciate you leaving us at such a good climax. I wanna see Dee grab them ankles lol. I’m proud of the growth they showed because at one point.I wasn’t so sure about them.

Though their relationship progressed fast, it's beautiful. Although I know it's not the last book in the series. It's a great progression for the characters and to me reveals them each in a more intimate way. I know it's fiction but I wish love was this easy even with the hard parts and obstacles. It's kinda funny, something Bri wanted SO bad would have been with the wrong person. You gotta ask yourself would you be willing to endure heartbreak with someone you thought you'd spend forever with, to find the person God had waiting on you all this time?

Oh wow! This series just gets better and better. At times I want to prescribe Xanax for Bri but with unending and limitless patience, DeeDee gets her there. So love this author's ability to tell a story and really enjoy the dialect of the culture and the amazing sex scenes. Wow....again!!!

I can say that I enjoyed every part of this story. I saw parts of myself in DeeDee who I felt like I resonated the most with (carefree and unbothered) but I also say some parts of me in Bri who is wondering about the foundation and strength of their relationship. It was a great part 3 to this series where I could see the growth in every character.

By the time we reach book 3, Bri and DeeDee have been through alot in their short time together but they have decided to take the journey towards forevermore. I enjoyed being part of the planning, the surprises, the fights, the make-ups, and all the in between. The Author really puts you in the middle of the story, at times you can literally feel yourself standing in the kitchen or bedroom with Bri and DeeDee.

This work of art is more than just a story, its a lesson, one worth learning if you want to grow. You will definitely see some form of yourself in at least a few of the characters. The gentleness of DeeDee mixed with the tension of Bri makes for a messy cocktail at times but they always seem to get it right.

This book explores cis-gendered black women who find themselves attracted to queer/gay/lesbians etc. I am her and she is me, thats how this book was written, with YOU in mind. Thank you, and please let us know when book 4 is ready 🙌🏽
