This rather short, free novel seems designed as the hook into this series (spoiler, the rest of the series is not free) but stands well on its own. This thriller pits the crew of freighter Requiem, and in particular the ship's doctor Melanie Destan, against a human trafficker on Luna as they search for a missing girl. As in many episodes of Firefly, it seems that most folks they know are some variety of criminal, but with more complicated aspects to their character than just criminality. The engaging story earns 4 stars on its own, plus 1 star bonus for careful writing and editing that allowed me to stop proofreading and just enjoy the story.

Is she or isn’t she? You’ll have to follow the action and decide for yourself through this carefully convoluted adventure.

The story is done well. But as in said this barely is a science fiction story. Take out the space ship and put in a tramp steamer, add the Barbie coast instead of the moon. This could be any most any kidnapping story from the turn of the century.

Armstrong Station is the first book in a prequel series of the Mars Ascendant series. The characters are well developed and there are only a few typos. I enjoyed the book so well that I subsequently purchased and read the Mars Ascendant series. This book is better than the books in the Mars Ascendant series, in my opinion. Can't wait to read the sequel, Phobos Station.

Armstrong Station is a delightful read. It starts with Mel seeking her fortune on Luna. She meets several obstacles finding work and eventually finds herself working on a space ship for a corporation. She meets several unsavory characters along the way and, in the process, winds up trying to help a young woman. Mel discovers that the young woman was trafficked after running away from home. With the help of the ship's crew and several of the unsavory characters, they concoct a plan to retrieve her and face dangerous people and situations along the way. The book is nicely written with good character development. I look forward to reading more books in the series.

Another exceptional tale of Dr. Mel Destin. A genius medical doctor and nanotechnology researcher, turned smuggler, turned hero. Fantastic storytelling, character profiles and world building.

I received a no cost copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

This is an exciting read. The book is off and running right from the beginning. A little humour is sprinkled throughout, while you understand the grave situation the heroin is really battling. Not too heavy a read, and quite entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Great book and a pleasure to read. Intriguing storyline with a well developed plot line and sub-plot lines interesting enough to not appear to be padding. Well written, the book takes you on an entirely believable journey the end of which left me anxious to read more.
Highly recommended 5* plus.
