Can Ms. Romig write anything but a suspenseful, captivating, action-packed dark romance filled with plots twists that will keep you glued to the page? I think not...

The conclusion to this duet delivers everything a dark romance should and more, and brought to life in perfect Romig style. The plot thickens in the first book, Devil's Deal, and BOOM! She drops us off a cliff waiting anxiously for the next book. The wait is worth it.

The setting becomes a character in itself, and seemed the perfect background for intrigue, secrets, and the thrilling (albeit frightening) world of those driven by power and control. The human characters are brought to life in pure Romig fashion, and I enjoyed how Emma grew in her character and stood beside Rett as a formidable partner.

The devil has certainly met his match.

Well done, Ms. Romig. Well done.

This was different from AR’s norm. It wasn’t bad or anything…just different. Not par for the course. AR adeptly reminded me of the closing events of book #1 as well as the magnitude of the scary power Rett wields. He is truly the King of New Orleans (NO). What comes as a surprise to him however, is his unexpected concern for what Emma thinks of him and how he’s affected by everything about her. She was his Queen and he, unintentionally, becomes her subject. I loved Emma’s stronger character now, and how she met Rett’s demands, but on her terms and at her pace. However, during the time lost waiting for this book to hit the market, I lost my connection between Emma and Rett. I couldn’t find the emotion they had in book-#1 until 60% of this story was read. This conclusion is filled with mystery and prophecy combined with NO history and spiritual folklore. A different kind of power play story you probably will enjoy reminiscent of NO mafia and control. I suggest you read the books close together.

The ending to this story…the whole book was so great. There was a lot of description in this book but it was so interesting. Just to finally get the background and to have all the secrets come out was enough but the back story of why this all started, just was the icing on the cake.

I absolutely love that they got their HEA and to watch Rhett realize the moment he loved Emma was everything. I really enjoyed their story.

I was hooked after Devil's Deal and this conclusion did not disappoint. I already loved Emma from the first part of this story, but her character grew so much in this book. Now married to Rett, their future as the King and Queen of New Orleans is threatened. The mystery lies in who is threatening their future rule of the city. Could it be her once-thought-dead-brother, Kyle or is it someone else. This story has many touching moments as well as lots of twist and turns. All will be revealed in time. As a side note, I LOVE that there is a character with my name, Tara <3.

Just as my title states, this conclusion is fabulous.

There's a few obvious twists and a handful of "OH" moments too.

The only slip up is when a wife and two children are killed in an explosion 😱😱 But a couple of paragraphs later, the count of children goes up to three!!

Plus there's so real conclusion as to whether Kyle is alive or not, nor what happened to Emily. So I do think a more clearer ending with those two are definitely warranted. Instead we're left to make up what became of them!!

Also who killed Ross Underwood??

We again have the extremely talented Kelli Tager and the slightly, but only slightly, talented Conner Goff, doing the narration.

Trust me when I say, it's definitely better reading while listening to them, giving life to the characters and making these books go from good to great!!

I promise of you get both, you will thoroughly enjoy the experience, between the exceptionally talented author and narrators!!
