Publisher's summary

He’s my childhood best friend’s older brother, and he’s determined to convince me to stay in Dogwood Cove, with him, forever.

Coming home to Dogwood Cove after eighteen years away is bittersweet. But running into Ethan Monroe has me wondering why I put it off for so long.

He isn’t the boy I played hide and seek with as a child anymore. Now he’s the seriously hot, plaid wearing, scruff bearing, mayor of this small town. A man who can sweep me off my feet, and make me feel safe, all at the same time.

Except I didn’t come back here looking for love. My estranged father is dead, and because of an unexpected inheritance, I find myself learning the truth of everything I lost when my mother moved us away.

Through it all, Ethan’s right by my side. And with every day that passes, he’s helping me to see that coming back to Dogwood Cove could be the start of the life I’ve always dreamed of.

Always and Forever is a hurt/comfort, childhood friends to lovers, steamy small town romance guaranteed to make you swoon. It’s perfect for fans of found family friend groups, cinnamon roll heroes, light hearted banter, quirky small town vibes, low angst and high heat love stories with a guaranteed HEA. It is a standalone, and the first full length novel in the Dogwood Cove series.

A perfect best friend's brother romance

Julia has quickly become one of my favorite authors. her characters never disappoint. This is a wonderful best friend's brother romance. Ethan and Summer are perfect for each other. And Mila is such an amazing sister and best friend. You really get the small town vibe that is Dogwood Cove.

I loved every minute

I’ve visited this series before, but not this book and first audio for this series. And wow! Ethan and Summers story was amazing. The narrators were perfect, filled with emotion that had me tearing up or blushing. I’m glad no one happened to hear those steamy parts through my office door while I completed mundane tasks that Julia’s words helped me get through.

Emotional Small-Town Romance!

So much to unpack here. Summer, Ethan and Mila grew up as best friends. Summer’s mother took her away, kept them traveling and assured her that her father wanted nothing to do with her. She lied.

Summer ends up returning upon her father’s death. Unsure of her reception by siblings Mila and Ethan, and heir to a run-down resort. Fortunately her friends are happy to restart their friendship, but is the resort an opportunity or a millstone?

There is much to be said for small-towns and they come together for others. When grown-up Ethan sparks an interest; will that make things better, or cause a problem with Mila. So many story levels, family, chosen family and “what do I want to be when I grow up”. Absolutely loved this. Listened to the audio, and it was superb!

Sweet and Spicy small town romance!

This title kicks off a completed series of small town love stories set in a charming coastal Canadian town! iOver a decade has past since Summer left Dogwood Cove. After years of a somewhat nomadic lifestyle, she has returned after inheriting a run-down oceanside resort, the only link to her recently departed father. Ready to help her fit into her old home is Ethan, the charmingly handsome mayor, and older brother of Summer’s childhood best friend. While Summer and Ethan both begin falling fast, her connection to the town isn’t a sure thing, and he is already terrified to see her leave again.

I read this book over a year ago and fell in love with Dogwood Cove. Now this title is available on audio, and it was great returning to the first book in the series in this dual narration format! This book is sweet, sexy, funny, and charming, and a must read for any small town romance lover.

Thank you to the author for my chance to listen to and review this audiobook!

Small-town romance

Summer moves back to the small town of Dogwood Cove when her father dies and leaves her a property outside town. She left the town as a child but has fond memories of the place, and she soon falls back in with her childhood best friend and that friend's older brother, now the mayor of the town. There's a supporting group of characters that help to round out the cast and a cozy bakery, book store and dance studio - the perfect small town! :)

This is a best friend's brother romance with a good dash of spice thrown in! The attraction between Summer and Ethan is immediate and their journey to a happy ending is relatively low-angst and very sweet. I would have preferred a tiny bit more tension before they made their feelings known to each other, but that might just be me. The dual narration by Heather Firth and Grayson Owens is very well done and made this a pleasure to listen to.

Sweet and Spicy! Ethan & Summer's Story!

I love the feeling when I start reading a book and I just know I'm going to click with their writing style! That's how I felt about this book. This is my first book by Julia Jarrett and I totally loved it!
All the sweet small town vibes, a swoony hero who falls so hard for the heroine and some really good spice.
Plus these are new to me narrators and they do a great job! So expressive during the emotional moments, but also playful and fun during the group scenes.
The author was also able to set up book 2 of the series but it a very subtle way!
I cannot wait to listen to the next Dogwood Cove story!
Also... I cannot help myself, I love this cover photo. The couple is so pretty and is totally how I picture Summer and Ethan!

Going home

Second Chance at love. Young girl going back home after finding out her estranged father died and left her a broken-down resort. Finding out your mother lied to you and embracing the family you didn’t know was yours. A second chance at love. All these elements come together beautifully and make a great small town romance.

Amazing Story

I love Summer and Ethan story so much!!! This is the first book of Dogwood Cove Series. Everything begins with them, you’ll see all the characters that are going to had their own story. This is an amazing sister’s best friend story. I love it so much how Ethan and Summer fall in love. At some point they are trying to be secretive, but that doesn’t work. Ethan wants to be the most romantic boyfriend ever, he really tried. Their chemistry is so good, all the emotions here are just like in the real life. You can feel Summer’s lost, longing and love. Ethan wants everything better and wonderful for her, to be able to keep her for him. This is a pretty great story and the audiobook is just perfection. I love how the narrators made me feel everything, made me blush and laugh too. Amazing.

Loved these tropes & narrators!!

This introduction to Dogwood Cove sucked me into a world I didn’t want to leave!

Ethan Monroe, now the mayor of this quaint small town, is blown away when his sister’s childhood best friend comes to town. Summer Harris has always held a special place in the hearts & memories of the Monroe siblings, & her return home is both unexpected and welcome.

After many years apart, I loved how they were able to pick up just like they’d been friends all along. True friendship doesn’t die, & I loved the way that a whole town was willing to step up to help Summer make her late father’s dreams a reality.

But the way that Ethan went above and beyond to make sure that Summer was cared for, & watching their love for each other blossom was absolutely perfect. Even with dramatic truths being unveiled, the overall feel of the entire book just had me all warm & cozy.

If you love small town romance, hallmark vibes, and undeniable chemistry, this intro into the world of Dogwood Cove is for you! And don’t worry, there’s lots more where this one comes from.

Audiobook Review:
Heather Firth & Grayson Owens’ performances were *chef’s kiss*. Their portrayal of both Summer & Ethan were on point & just drew me in.
