You've probably heard it or seen it written, but please let my voice be added to the chorus: Berserk is manga perfection. There's a reason it's the number 1 rated manga on sites like My Anime List and Anilist. It's an epic, beautiful, brutal, nuanced story of hardship, of overcoming hardship, of the power of companionship, and of what it really means to dedicate yourself wholly to one goal. The writing, especially the character writing of the protagonist Guts and the antagonist Griffith, is superb. Guts is one of the most perfectly and fully realized characters in all of fiction and seeing him develop and grow across the series is one of the most satisfying that I've experienced regardless of the genre or medium of the story. The world-building and creativity that is on display in how Berserk's dark medieval fantasy functions first as a seemingly normal medieval theme with only a few hints as to supernatural things bubbling under the surface.
Berserk cannot be talked about without mentioning Miura's incredible artwork. While Deluxe Vol. 1 has by far the weakest art of the whole series, it's still really good. Miura really knows how to frame dynamic action and how to draw your eye from one panel to the next very cleanly and deliberately. The details he puts in are incredible, whether it be all of the finery of a knight's armor or the grotesque monstrosity of a demon, each and every panel was created with care, passion, and dedication by a master of his craft.
The deluxe release really lives up to its name, I am happy to say. Much larger than any previous releases of Berserk, it lets you fully enjoy the opulence of Miura's beautiful artwork. The leather cover proves that simple and elegant is all you need to make a striking book cover that will demand attention when it sits on your shelf. Really, the only criticism I can give this product is that it's going to make you want to immediately drop a bunch of money to buy the rest of the deluxe releases. I would urge you to give in to that thought process. Berserk only gets better from here on out, and Berserk Deluxe Vol. 2 is even better than Vol. 1. I cannot recommend Berserk Deluxe enough. It's the best way to read the best manga ever written. You will not be disappointed picking this masterpiece up!

Simply a manga you can't stop reading!
Started my Berserk journey in 2022. The story, the character of Guts and all the side characters, the fight scenes, as well as the beautiful art style left me at the edge of my seat on every chapter. Simply an amazing story, wish they could've done a better job with the anime adaptations. Not a manga for anyone, but a great one for people who appreciate this kind of genre! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Started my Berserk journey in 2022. The story, the character of Guts and all the side characters, the fight scenes, as well as the beautiful art style left me at the edge of my seat on every chapter. Simply an amazing story, wish they could've done a better job with the anime adaptations. Not a manga for anyone, but a great one for people who appreciate this kind of genre! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
