About this item
- [See Your Connections] The Avantree Orbit Bluetooth transmitter is the only transmitter on the market that comes with an LCD screen display. No more “blind pairing”; you’ll be able to identify & select which Bluetooth device you are pairing with, the CODEC used, and control the volume on your connected devices.
- [Wide Compatibility] Thanks to Orbit’s Digital OPT, 3.5mm and RCA input cables, it's compatible with every TV on the market. What really sets it apart is the automatic 5.1CH audio conversion; upon receiving 5.1CH audio, the Orbit automatically converts it to 2.0, instantly making it transmittable via Bluetooth, no need to make changes on TV.
- [aptX Low Latency Compatible] The Avantree Orbit is aptX Low Latency certified. When (and ONLY WHEN) used with a Bluetooth headphone / speaker that also supports aptX Low Latency or FastStream, it will deliver the ultimate “no lip sync delay” experience, ensuring perfectly synced visual and audio no matter what you watch.
- [Works with Soundbar/AVR] The “Pass-Through” feature of Orbit transmitter guarantees simultaneous audio output through the headphones (that are connected to Orbit) AND your external TV speaker such as Sound Bar or Stereo AVR, so that other household members can still hear the TV while you’re using the headphones.
- [Two Headphones, Together] The Orbit features a “dual-link” function that allows two Bluetooth headphones / speakers to be connected at the same time; audio will play through both devices simultaneously. Enjoy a late-night movie session with a partner, at your own volumes, without awaking others in your household.

No Lip-Sync Delay When (and ONLY WHEN) used with a Bluetooth headphone / speaker that also supports aptX Low Latency or FastStream, it will deliver the ultimate “no lip sync delay” experience. Note: aptX Low Latency provides <40 ms audio latency – virtually unnoticeable and significantly lower & better than the 200+ ms of typical Bluetooth solutions on the market. |
Auto Converts 5.1CH to 2.0CH Unlike most Bluetooth TV transmitters on the market, you won’t have to adjust your TV audio settings, because the Orbit will do it for you. The Orbit transmitter can automatically convert your TV’s 5.1CH audio into 2.0 PCM Stereo, making it transmittable via Bluetooth. All you need to do is simply plug, pair, and play! No hassle! |
Features Audio Pass-through Pass-through lets you hear your TV audio through a soundbar or external speakers and from your connected headphones at the same time. Perfect when gathering with family or friends where individuals with hearing issues normally could not enjoy what is on the TV. Using pass-through, anyone needing headphones could connect and experience the audio the same way anyone listening through the soundbar or external speakers would. |

Before You Buy, Please Note That...
- If you're not satisfied with your product for any reason, at any time, please get in touch with us directly and we'll do our best to help!
- The Orbit is compatible with all Bluetooth headphones, but those that support aptX Low Latency or FastStream will benefit from the lowest possible latency.
- Most TVs can simultaneously play audio through the speakers and headphones connected via the Orbit, but some older TV models may not support this function. This is TV dependent.

I bought this unit because of the bluetooth capabilities in my Hisense TV were so limited. The Orbit Pro can connect to two bluetooth headphones instead of one, has fewer drop-outs, longer range, no lip-syncing issue (ATPX-LL, low-latency), and allows each listener to pick their own volume level separate and distinct from the other listener.
Compared to the other Orbit units, this one has a remote control, supports eARC input and, I believe, has a few more volume levels (15 instead of 10?). I didn't buy this for the remote or eARC input; I simply wanted to make sure I got the latest device with the newest internals. It's 3 years newer than the previous rev.
I do get some dropouts. This is particularly noticable if something is in pairing mode (so don't do that while listenting to music). I will report back if I figure out which of my 20 Bluetooth capable devices is interfering. It's not happening that often so I'm not concerned.
Avantree seems to have done everything right. It sorta does what you want it to. They just sorta know. For example, I can select a set of headphones on the LCD and see if it's using APTX-LL. You can also adjust the volume in the same way if your earbuds don't have volume controls. There's a remote control that I just put in a drawer since my headphones have volume buttons.
I have successfully paired with three over-the-ear headphones and was pleased:
- Seinnheiser HD450SE
- Ankbit E600Pro
- Bose QC 35 II
The Seinnheiser and Ankbits have APTX-LL. The Bose QC 35 II don't have APTX-LL, and the lag/latency was very noticable (not the Orbit's fault - that APTX-LL is crucial). The Bose went back upstairs for listening to music.
Pros:
Allows headphones with volume controls to individually select their own volume / listening levels
Looks fantastic
LED screen for simple pairing
Cons:
An occaisonal dropout

I am pleased with the sound quality of my earbuds using this device. I tried using another brand a few months ago that was terrible! I returned them. After watching some YouTube videos and seeing this Avantree device, I decided to give it another go. I am so glad that I did! The difference is night and day. If you need to add bluetooth capability to your TV I highly recommend this device.
The display allows you to know what's going on and to have total control over connections. I have four headsets paired and I can easily move between them with no guessing about status. The Avantree also won't steal a device from your smartphone because it thinks it has higher priority (some other TV/Bluetooth transmitters do exactly this.)
Supports active connection to two different headsets/buds simultaneously.
When using an aptX capable headset the latency is virtually nil. The Avantree will auto negotiate so there's nothing to configure.
Has optical input which means you can have both TV speaker audio and Bluetooth audio at the same time. Also, supports optical pass-through to a home theater system. Be aware, however, that, as a practical matter the latency of the speakers vs Bluetooth will likely be different which is very annoying and not really usable. Of course, you can mute the TV and the optical connection will still feed the Avantree and your headset(s).
Built-in volume control which is essential for using headsets/buds with a TV on the optical interface.
Less good:
I've had to reset to factory defaults a couple of times because the device goes a bit crazy. In one case it paired with an unknown device that I did not authorize. I couldn't get it to forget the device either. In another case the volume up/down feature stopped working. In both cases all was well again after the reset.
Biggest negative: the buttons need to be back-lit. The thing is unusable in a darkened room. This is especially annoying because the display is back-lit and there's a pulsing glow under the unit - so why not the light the buttons too? It's one of those fails that makes you wonder if the designers ever actually use the product outside their lab.
Update:
Total latency is a function of this unit PLUS your headphones. The complaints about 1 second latency seem extreme to me. I'm using this device with Sony LinkBud (ear buds) and get about 250mS of latency. It's a bit annoying to have lip-sync off by this much but not a deal breaker, UNLESS you need the speaker audio on at the same time. That's annoying because of the delay/echo between the ear buds and speaker. The only solution to this is ultra low latency headphone/earbuds. BTW, Apple AirPods have the lowest latency of anything I've tried.
Finally, the Sony LinkBuds allow you to double tap to increase volume and triple tap to decrease volume. This works directly with the Avantree transmitter volume control (just setup with your Android smartphone) and works great. Otherwise, I'd be jumping up and running to the Avantree to adjust volume - that would be unacceptable.
