The Power and Tone to Rule Any Venue

Armed with a monstrous 750 watts at 4 ohms, the Aguilar DB 751 bass head gives you the headroom to rule any venue. The preamp section of this beast is juiced by three 12AX7s, while 12 complimentary lateral MOSFETs drive the output. The result is fat, round, tubular tone at stadium-shaking volume. To shape all this tasty tone, the DB 751 gives you gain and master volume controls, and the exacting EQ control of a passive 3-way tone stack with active midrange, plus bright and deep switches. Tone, power, and versatility - you can have it all with the Aguilar DB 751.

Aguilar DB 751 Bass Head at a Glance:

From club to arena, handle any size gig

If you play a range of various-sized venues, Sweetwater knows you require a bass head that can do it all. Aguilar's DB 751 is what you need. With a bone-crunching 750 watts at 4 ohms (975 at 2 ohms), the DB 751 gives you the headroom to ace any size gig. Mate the DB 751 with one or two of Aguilar's excellent bass cabs. The DB 751 gives you the flexibility of two speakON connectors (with a 2-ohm minimum load), so you can mix and match cabs appropriately for specific gigs. In addition, for recording and going straight into a PA, there's a front-panel balanced XLR DI output with pre-/post-EQ and ground-lift switches.

Awesome tone and powerful sound-shaping tools

The Aguilar DB 751 delivers broad dynamic response, detailed note articulation, deep (but focused) low end, punchy midrange, and stunning high-end clarity. Dial up the gain control, and the three 12AX7s in the preamp section serve up scrumptious, classic tube growl. The DB 751 gives you the tools to shape your signature tone: a passive 3-way tone stack with active midrange and bright and deep switches further juice your sound-sculpting capabilities. The Aguilar DB 751 will give you the tonal mojo to sail through any show or recording session with flying colors.

Bass-savvy design and inspired engineering

Aguilar bass amplification is respected worldwide for its outstanding tone and reliability. It's the backline of choice for top bassists like John Patitucci, Gary Willis, Tim Lefebvre, and countless others. Aguilar designs gear by conceptualizing it from the musician's perspective and then presses on with inspired engineering. For starters, Aguilar is a team of pro bass players and engineers. In addition to bass heads and cabinets, the company also designs and manufactures preamps and pickups that are standard equipment in many of today's finest basses, as well as effects pedals, so they have a uniquely holistic approach to bass tone. Aguilar gear is built tour-grade tough in New York City, and it's road-tested to stand up to hardcore professional abuse. For bass players, this is as good as it gets. You simply can't go wrong with Aguilar.

Aguilar DB751

I bought a DB750 when they first came out. I used it on hundreds of gigs over a 20 year period. My biggest mistake in life was selling it. I broke down and bought a new DB751. It is the most versatile amp for any type of show. Even though I love Ampeg SVTs and Orange AD200b's, this thing really cuts through any loud mix. You just hear every nuance of your bass, even at low volumes. They are expensive, but worth their weight in gold. Since they are a hybrid, the reliability is outstanding. I've never had any problems with the DB750 over 20 years. Once you use one live, you will never use anything else. I've had nothing but compliments from sound engineers and fans on my tone.
Music background: Nashville rock bass player.

Tone and solid.

I love this amp. My Eden wtb 1000 sounded as good when it worked correctly. I also have an early Terror Bass 500 and a solid state Ampeg 450 SVT and the db751 sounds the best, especially cranked. Pushes the Mesa 8x10" cab just fine.

Db751 aguilar bass amp

Big Tone

My previous 3 amps were solid state. I was looking at another amp when I said to myself that I"d spend less time and money if bit the bullet and got what I really wanted. It was a choice between the Aguilar and an SVT, and I went with the Aguilar.

The sound compared to what I previously used and thought were good amps amazed me. The sound is so even and full. Not louder but bigger, fatter. It really surprised me. It"s a heavy amp and it"s solidly constructed. I know a lot of big name players use smaller solid state amps, but after hearing this amp I believe those smaller amps sacrifice something in the downsizing.
