This book is amazing disregarding the misnomer of disoriented vs disorientated. Very much a thrill ride. I just dislike the disnomenclature of disoriented vs disorientated. Disorientated is not an actual word. Disoriented is the actual word

”Revenge is a dish best served cold”

An intriguing plot with an even more intriguing and complex cast of characters, makes this story enthralling. Keogh vividly paints a picture of each as well as the surroundings and there is an ominous vibe throughout that immediately sucks you into the story, compelled to keep flicking the pages.

Buried secrets and lies rise to the surface, bringing with it a change in direction you don’t see coming which captures your attention. Then just when you think you have figured it out, turns out you don’t!

A dark and addictive tale from beginning to end, Valerie Keogh has once again woven her magic and delivered another winner and as always I will be looking forward to the next one.

I didn't like the main character of this book. She was awful. I knew what she
had done from the first few chapters of the book but the thing with the husband disgusted me. She was callous and heartless and no matter how the author tried to make her out to be a good person trying to help the women of Broadway it didn't go over well. I tried to like this book and from the reviews I read I thought I would but the main character was just so flawed that it just didn't happen for me.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. I enjoyed this suspenseful story. One of the things I enjoy about this author is her ability to pull me into the story from the first word. Her books are always full of action and brings the twists and turns to a new level. This is a well written story where the author's use of details made the story entertaining to read. I enjoyed how the characters are supportive of each other as well as connectable. This is a fast paced, flowing story that was hard to put down. The growth of the plot is great throughout as well as made the story easy to read. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

I love a psychological thriller and this is one in every sense of the phrase. (Heavy on the psychological side). I went from a "love" to "hate" emotion for the main character in this novel....who is quite the sociopath. And while I like surprises in a storyline, I also like the game of figuring out the ending early. With A Taste of Deceit, just when you think you have it figured out....SURPRISE! Valerie Keogh leaves us with an easy to read, "don't put it down" book that keeps you interested in finding out what could possibly happen next.

This is a slow starting story. The plot is a good one, but it takes forever to develop. But the ending is really quite good.

Some interesting twists and turns on this book, as Jocelyn snoops on her new neighbours in the countryside. All is not as it seems and she makes some very wrong conclusions. Kept me turning the pages.

I must have read too many of these psychological suspense stories, as I worked out pretty quickly what had happened, if not the exact details. Well-written for the most part, it included a cast of characters either nasty or petty and for none of whom I could feel any sympathy.

Read a few of this author's books, however felt this one was a bit slow and only really got going about when I reached 80% of it. Have got another of her books on my kindle so will see how I get on with that. Wish she wouldn't write in first persons.....

I read this book in one sitting, unable to put it down. Such a clever plot, and well drawn characters. I didn't like the protagonist, and usually that would put me off a book, but I don't think the author wanted her to be liked, and that intrigued me. The other characters were interesting, and the whole book came together so well at the end. I recommend it highly
