A Kingdom of Blood and Betrayal (Stars and Shadows Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 10,716 ratings

My fate is bonded to two princes– one born of blood, the other of power— but my trust lies in neither.

My skin is cursed by the stars, my fate damned by desire.

But when the dark prince offers me a bargain that will save his people and my life, the cruel and intoxicating male gives me no choice.

Our union is his revenge, and I am his sacrifice.

His lies are unforgivable. His wicked touch still bathes me in sin.

He is my mate, and he is tortured by a curse to protect his people from his own family.

I could now see him for exactly who he was. So why can’t I get his alluring touch out of my head?

I am the key to saving his kingdom, but he alone has the power to ruin me.

Easy beach read. Romance, faes, vampires, internal struggles, kingdoms at war, erotica! Perfect for an easy beach read… addicted to the series

I am really enjoying this series. At first it was a little slow but then it picked up. I had to finish it. The twist at the end I had a feeling was coming but I didn’t expect who it was. I was thinking it would have been another star blessed maybe younger to play on her heart. This twist was definitely worse and I know in her shoes I would have done the same thing. Can’t wait for the next book!

I finished the first book to this series, and I am more than half way through with the second book.

It is extremely repetitive which is kind of annoying. I don’t claim to be a writer by any means, but the author has Adara saying the SAME stuff over and over and over again. For the other characters like Evren, the author uses the same actions, sentences, dialogue. Evren’s fingers trailed down Adara’s spine 3000 times. He rubbed his hand across his jaw 4,376 times, his teeth grazed across some part of her body 3,987 times and so on and on and on and on. Repetition, no change.
You could go through the books and more than likely find the exact same sentences, as if she copy and pasted.
I wish the plot was more developed at this point of the book, but it’s not. They have sex, great but what else in regard to the story. (Won’t go into any details for those who may want to read them)
So far, it’s basically 2 books of how Adara is certain with how she feels, but is she isn’t sure how she feels but pretends like she doesn’t feel exactly how she feels. 🥴
The fact that after a book and a half she hasn’t grown as a character makes the book mediocre.
The books plateaued a long time ago but at this point I feel compelled to keep going being I’ve made it this far into the series.
It’s an easy enough read that I can finish the third book in no time, donate them to Goodwill and move on.
The third book will probably still have Adara’s character acting like she doesn’t know how she feels.

If you’re looking for a series with a good strong story, I wouldn’t recommend this book. However, if you’re looking for book to read soft core sexual scenes, and sentences you’ve read 50 times over, these are for you.

3.5 stars. These books are good because they aren’t super complicated. Super easy world building. Not crazy dynamic characters. Lots of repeating for things too. But still entertaining enough you want to flip to the next chapter. And the spice is good for a fantasy!

This was very predictable. I was disappointed in the constant dialogue of how much this FMC meant to MMC…too much hot cold from FMC. Ending was very disappointing. I’m not sure I even want to read the next book.

I'm serious, I was starting to get real ANGRY with this woman and was begging Evren to just STOP with her! Let her go and fend for herself in the name of the mental sanity of the kingdom! JESUSSSSS at this point IDK if I'm going for the third one... just need to cure this feeling of LITERAL CRINGE
