Second, and most important, the reviews almost scared me out of purchasing. However, after watching 2 YouTube videos and following the instructions to the letter my first try was a success. I truly believe the bulk of the poor reviews are simply due to user error. You MUST cast on correctly and you must use the weight correctly. Once the weight gets close to the table/floor/your lap you just stop and move it back up. In doing so I made it through an entire skein of yarn with zero skipped or tucked stitches! I’ve had this for roughly a month and have had nothing but good results!
This is my second Addi product. I also have the 22 pin Addi Express. I’m my opinion Addi is head and shoulders above other brands. They are worth the hefty price if you plan on using them even semi-regularly. I have 3 Sentros and a Prym, and the Addi machines take yarn that won’t make it through even one row on the others.

It still occasionally messes up and by no means has a smooth turn (it is jerky when the string pops over). When the String completes the turn, make sure it is completely over the red tongs. This makes sense if you have the machine in front of you. As long as you fix this, you will come out with a great results. I also found that the weight was a bit too heavy and the turn was less jerky if you leave off the weight. Every now and then, I will tug on it.
The product works; you need the right string, you need to know how to troubleshoot it, and you need patience.

It dropped a few stitches at the beginning, but I pulled the tube back up and unpicked it back to the dropped stitches and then put the loops back onto the needles, then continued to knit, by turning the handle, and it was fine. It seems like its just a matter of keeping the tension correct on the yarn going into the egg, and the stitches will be fine.
You must also give the handle a good shove in or it will keep falling out as you turn it, one good shove solves this.
As this has 6 needles you get a wider i cord tube than most if the other french knitting type machines. I'm not sure what I will do with mine yet, but I have some ideas running around my head. For now I'm just happily turning out a long strand of i cord, because I can.
