Publisher's summary

*A standalone novel set in the world of St. Mary's
**INCLUDES the prequel, The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy

Two years ago, Reed Jackson betrayed Calliope Thorne and broke her heart. So she stole his most prized possession—a white mustang—and drove it into the lake for revenge.

Now, Callie is stuck at a reform school while Reed is off at college, living his life without repercussions.

Until he comes back.

With him comes back all the feelings that Callie has been trying to bury: anger and heartbreak.

But most of all, desire.

At the sight of his beautiful but lying lips and his gunmetal gray eyes that still taunt and smolder when he looks at her.

Whatever though. It’s not as if Callie is ever going to fall for her ex-boyfriend again. Or let him corner her in a bar one night and touch her, kiss her…

Neither is she going to kiss him back. Or worse, sleep with him.

Because that would make her naïve and foolish.

Oh, and also pregnant.

And there’s no way Callie is ever going to get pregnant at eighteen and with Reed’s baby, no less. The guy she hates. The guy who taught her all about heartbreak.

Who might look like a gorgeous hero but really is the villain of her story.

Beautifully written

The boy with the white Mustang, doesn't want to admit he really has feelings for his ballerina/ Fae.
He is her protector, her hero. He sacrificed much to keep her safe..
So much emotional drama, sexy scenes. Callie always had the love and support of her brothers..
Roman has never had that support from his parents and doesn't recognize his love for Callie. He keeps his emotions hidden to protect her.
A beautifully written Intense drama and angst. First love, first heartbreak ,
Gideon Frost and Stefanie Kay narration is superb. They give an emotional performance..Very well.done.

heartbreaking story of second chances

Reed broke Callie's heart two years ago. That's how we start this story because if you'd read the prequel then you'd know what happened before Callie was sent to St. Mary's. What Callie did to mend her broken heart has made her become ostracized by the people who knew her. She was kicked out of her ballet school -- one she sneaks into at night, after hours, to keep up with her routine.

Although Reed should be staying away from -- because she's not even supposed to be in town -- he cannot stay away. He stalks her until he manages to convince her that he'll be giving her rides into town. She really shouldn't be sneaking out of school. She's determined to give her a piece of her mind and show him that she doesn't need him. But one night... that is all it takes for their world to flip.

I had this book on my TBR since it was first released and I jumped at the opportunity to listen to the audiobook for review. I was not disappointed. Reed and Callie are by far my favorite couple in this universe. And I've only read Hey Mr. Marshall and My Darling Arrow. I cannot wait to mark You Beautiful Thing, You off my TBR list too! A scene that will forever live rent-free in my head is the scene where Reed breaks down the door to get to her because he thinks something is wrong. *crying in single* These two may be opposites but they complement each other so well

Perfection

A Gorgeous Villain was a highly anticipated read from me. Following My Darling Arrow and The Wild Mustang & the Dancing Fairy Novella, I was desperate for Callie and Reed’s story. Every teaser posted, every picture from the inspirational board or song shared had me literally panting and drooling for more. So what happened when I finally got my hands on AGV? Total annihilation of my emotions, senses and capability to function.

Callie (Calliope) lived up to my expectations. She was a kind a beautiful soul. A good girl in love with a very bad boy. Even though Reed does make her go slightly bad, she hangs on to the core goodness of light and fairy she always was. Callie like Salem and the rest of the St. Mary’s girls, is attending the reformed school because of her minor infraction. She only drove his car into the lake because of what Reed did to her. She should not have been punished, but there is more to that story which unfolds at the perfect time.

Now Reed, the angry, broken, unable to love gorgeous creature that he is, knows that he hurt Callie. In fact he has been suffering for his actions for two years. But now because he allowed his control to slip, his fairy is pregnant and he is determined to do everything he can to protect them and provide for them. Did I mention protect? Oh Reed is definitely one overprotective bad boy.

As much as I loved the main character, I loved all the side characters just as much. Callie’s brothers and the St. Mary’s girls are so fascinating and I cannot wait for their stories. You can expect Saffron Kent’s unique style of writing, a quirky, innocent lovable heroine, an alpha hero with a filthy mouth, and a storyline that will sticks with you.

Dialogue was annoying

Oh my gosh! The h’s favorite word was an exasperated “What!?” The book could’ve been shorter if they didn’t interrupt one another constantly and repeat one another’s words. Ugh! I loved the actual story but the dialogue style just irritated me so much.
Ex. h-“I just think…
H-“You think what?”
h-“I think the sky is blue”
H-“You think the sky is blue.
h-“Yes, Yes. The sky is blue.
Not actually dialogue but it got to be so ridiculous. I almost didn’t finish.

A Gorgeous Story!

After listening to 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒈 & 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒂𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆,I couldn't wait to listen to this one. And I will tell you. 𝚂𝚊𝚏𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚗 𝙺𝚎𝚗𝚝 did not disappoint!

Diving back into Reed & Callie's story was a great experience. We get the angst. We get the hate/love. We get the emotional roller coaster and we get the undeniable chemistry again. I absolutely loved watching them come together again at St. Mary's and seeing all the elements that make up their blossoming story. Throw in the big "surprise", and we have a beautifully chiseled, unforgettable story.

𝑆𝑡𝑒𝑓𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝐾𝑎𝑦 reprises her part of bringing Callie life and making her real. As with the novella, she a wonderful job of bringing the emotional moments and lending depth to the story. And, as the wonderful Reed Jackson, we get 𝐺𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑜𝑛 𝐹𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑡 breathing life into his story. He was a great narrator and I was glad to get the chance to hear him!

Like the first two books in this series, I absolutely loved how 𝚂𝙰𝙺 created her characters and brought us emotional reads. I definitely enjoyed this one and can't wait to listen to the next one!

Fierce Feels And Even Fiercer Emotions

I have to admit that when I listened to the prequel to this book (The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy) I was left with some pretty big doubts and reservations about Reed. This had me very concerned that my dislike was going to be too hard to overcome, but I'm pleased to say that the author worked her magic and while I certainly can't say I loved him, I did find myself warming to him and in the end, I did like him (and maybe have a small squishy spot on my heart for him when he is in dad mode). Callie (as with all of the St. Mary's Rebels) was amazing and wonderful and I just loved her. That in fact was a big part of my problem. I all too often felt she simply deserved better. The writing is very well done and the engaging storyline is a potent mix of intense emotion, angst, heartache, fury and flaming, unquenchable desire. This is the type of book that inspires fierce feels and even fiercer emotions in the reader, so try to be prepared for the truly epic roller coaster ride that is Callie & Reed. There is dual narration on this book, which I love and prefer. I thought both narrators had pleasing voices and felt they delivered excellent performances.

4.5 Stars!!

As soon as I reached the end of the The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy audiobook I couldn't wait to jump into this audiobook! This listen has been one of my most anticipated audiobooks of the year! I started listening to it as soon as i could and got right back into this world! I loved A Gorgeous Villain audiobook!

Having listened to both Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost before I've been so excited to listen to more of their narration! I couldn't get enough of these two as Calliope and Reed! Both of them were so great with their narration and I really enjoyed what they brought to this story with their voices! They brought these characters to life in a new way and I loved it!

Calliope and Reed's journey had me in ALL the feels! I was so happy to be back in the world of St. Mary’s Rebels! I loved digging deeper with these two characters and the fact that I went through so many emotions with them throughout!

With A Gorgeous Villain, Ms.Kent has created such a fantastic story! From her writing to the narration, this story will hook you! I can't wait to listen to more of Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost's narration in the near future!

It all started with the Dancing Fairy 🧚‍♀️ and the Wild Mustang 🐎

I listened to the audio version of this book which was narrated excellently! The narrators really embodied both of the characters. This does contain the prequel The Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy. The prequel really explains how Callie and Reed meet, he breaks her heart, and what Callie does that brings her to St. Mary's reform school. Callie was a good girl from the beginning and throughout the book. I don't know what it is about these soccer bad boys? They bring the girls, especially good girls, to their knees! Reed tried to warn Callie away, but it didn't work. They are very reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet, star-crossed lovers, whose families are enemies. Callie is determined to change the story for them. Well, until Reed shows back up at St. Mary's, and she gets pregnant. Callie understood Reed all along even though he kept almost everything a secret. Callie was determined to prove to Reed that he deserved love and that he did love people in return. It amazes me how the girls from both books are in high school but so much more mature and wise than the men they are attracted to that are older than both of these girls. I guess the boys had to grow up first. I also think both boys were used to everything coming easily to them without having to work for it. Reed does show he cares about Callie, he's just slow to see it. He's a very good daddy. Man, does Reed a dirty mouth! Hot, but oh so dirty in the bedroom. The book itself is around 550 pages including the prequel. The audiobook is around 20 hours played at normal speed. This story didn't feel that long to me. Saffron Kent has a style of writing that is all her own. Each of these books just gets better and better.
