About this ebook

One damaging relationship in his life refuses to end when the woman insists it’s not over between them for her. Marsha makes Macklin’s life hell…until she turns up dead and the evidence points straight at him.

As the new detective on the Coronado Police force, Alex is determined to make a good impression on her superiors and colleagues. That goal is thwarted by Macklin, who’s the chief suspect in her murder investigation—and someone she longs to know a whole lot better. Whether she wants to or not, she can’t let herself foolishly forget that his last girlfriend now occupies an ice-cold bed at the morgue.

During his thorough interrogation at the precinct by the sexy-beyond-belief detective, Macklin finds himself furious…and intrigued. Seems, alive or dead, Marsha is determined to make his life miserable. Alex intends to find out the truth, and, as an elite warrior himself, he admires her grift and ethics in pursuit of the answers. Damn that she’s the first woman in a long time he’d love to get to know better.

With no other option, Macklin has to help the detective solve the mystery—hopefully before Alex has no choice but to charge him with murder.

Wow as always Dale Mayer has come up with yet another fantastic book. We saw a little snippet of Macklin in seals of honor 13 and I knew I wanted to read this book. It had me reading it all in one go and had me on the edge of the seat as we followed the story of Mack, a dead body, a strange woman and an attraction to someone you shouldn't have. Mack has been accused of murder after the body of his ex, whom he hasn't seen in year< was found in her apartment. As sad as it was I don't think he misses her that much for what she put him through. Who is responsible for her death and why set up Macklin? I was on the edge of my seat as I sat and read this book, wondering who would want her dead and set him up. As the book wore on I changed a few time for who would want to do it. A team mate, nah they are like brothers, a disgruntled ex maybe, nope he sort of swore off women after Marsha, an old friend, who knows. So as the pieces started to piece together bit by bit they seem to get closer to the killer. Are the killer and burglar one of the same or are they working as a team to throw off the investigation?. There was a twist that I wasn't expecting towards the end. But this book like all the others was just amazing, a fantastic piece of writing and just slotted in with the rest of her seals of honor books. I can't wait for any other books to follow. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an advanced reader copy

It took me long enough to get this book, but I couldn't put it down until it was finished. The plot kept getting better and better.
