He’s doing what he can to keep Avery safe, as this was no accident. He’s not allowed to join the investigation, but being on the spot and having the training he has are huge benefits. No way will he sit by and do nothing. Especially if Avery is in trouble.

Avery has been looking forward to Hudson’s visit. They are best friends, and she’d love to spend more time with him. Hell, she’d loved him since forever but didn’t want to risk their special friendship by taking the relationship further. When Hudson Cameron stepped into the elevator in his Vail Colorado hotel, his SEAL instincts kicked in, something wasn't quite right with the two military looking men that were there. Hudson put it to the back of his mind when they went one way and he went the other, he was keen to see Avery, it had been a long time. Hudson just had time to drop his bag and run to meet her, Avery was waiting outside, as he gave her an enormous hug something wasn't quite right, he just had time to push her out of the way before a huge explosion wracked the hotel. This was to be the start of a chain of events that was to put both their lives in danger. Hudson's only real girlfriend had been Avery's sister Delilah but she had died many years ago, where Delilah was quiet and serene, Avery was a feisty redhead who Hudson couldn't stop thinking about, even more so since Mason the matchmaking leader of his SEAL team made him face up to why he kept going back to see her........but did she feel the same way about him or did she see him as a brother ? if they took things to the next level would they loose their special friendship ? The body count in the small winter sports town was escalating and Avery and Hudson appeared to be at the centre of things but why ? Hudson was determined to find the answer, he had no jurisdiction in Vail but with the help of his SEAL team buddies he would work in the background. Another great action packed story with a lovely romance from Dale Mayer. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 26 in the SEALs of Honor series and it features Hudson and Avery. He and Avery have been best friends through the years, although her feelings for him were much stronger than friendship. It’s time they reevaluate their relationship but they’re afraid to ruin what they do have. The story line is good. The characters are ok. The problem is that both the main character’s actions (mostly Avery’s) are so far out of the realm of possibility that it makes the story less attractive. I know that things happen fast and are exaggerated in books but this is even beyond that.

Hudson goes to Vail, Colorado to see Avery who is a friend he has been close to for a long time. Hudson and Avery are both attracted to each other, but they are afraid that if they get more intimate, it might ruin their friendship. When Hudson arrives, he goes to meet Avery, and before they can leave the hotel a bomb goes off. That is just the start of the action. Each terrorist that tries to take out Hudson is killed when they fail. As the body count rises with both good guys and bad guys, Hudson knows he must find everyone involved or Avery and he will need to be looking over their shoulders all the time. Being close to Hudson puts Avery in danger and the terrorists try to use her to get to Hudson. Although Hudson wants Avery to stay safe, she cannot help but get herself in the middle of the action. She stands up to the terrorist and counts on Hudson’s skills to save her. This book was action-packed. Once I started reading the book, I couldn’t put it down.
