Forget about the looks (I think they look pretty cool - all hybrids) the Cleveland HB Turbo irons are the most forgiving clubs I have found. Just the irons (9,8,7,6,5 and P) took at least 5 strokes off my game. You cannot chunk the ball bad unless you are really trying and even when you do, the ball still launches about 60-70%.

The big bonus is the price is cheaper than the name brands, but the technology and material used is better. These clubs are the best kept secret in Golf.

So Im 72 and Ive lost some flexibilty recently. I bought a set of Ping senior flex irons that worked pretty well but I wasn't able to come through the ball consistently. The Clevelands Launchers with the regular shaft are surprisingly easy to hit well and straight almost every shot - some trade off on distance, but I'm playing 5 stokes better and really enjoy the feel of these irons. Ive also found that they play well out of the rough. If you want irons that are forgiving and you prefer straight to long, I don't think you will find anything better.

I went through an iron fitting session (I tried 6 different major manufacturers- performance enhancing clubs) but they did not have any of the Cleveland irons. I bought this club to simply try it out and to compare it to the club fitting session. I was shocked how easy this club was to hit, higher ball flight, and the increased consistency on contact. The performance of the club was so impressive, I bought a set. Personally, these clubs perform very well for medium to slow swing speeds (my swing club head speed is average) and for a shallow descent angle (sweeping motion) vs a descending motion. These are not the best looking clubs (a lot going on behind the ball) but they did out perform the other clubs.
