Nice mat!

I am new to yoga but have heard that getting a good mat was a must. So I searched online alot to see what was out there. I came across this mat. It had good reviews and it was thick which is what I was looking for. I am very glad I bought this. Not only is it thick and easy on the joints and muscles but it is sticky so you don't slip while doing poses. Also it did not have a bad order. That was something I was afraid of when buying a mat. I hate strong orders and this never had that. I would defiantly recommend this mat to anyone and have told friends about it.

At 61, I am reasonably healthy and fit, and up till now have been riding a bike for exercise. This past June I had a crippling bout with vertigo. I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis, a viral inner ear infection. I was told there was nothing to do to treat it and I could expect other episodes. (I had three more.) This was not an option. I had to give up bike riding, because of dizziness. I wondered what to do to solve this problem and thought of yoga. (I'm not the most coordinated person in the world.) I've been practicing this art every day, twice a day, since June 30. It has changed my life. Because I didn't know if I'd continue, I bought the least expensive mat I could find--3 mm--gray. I treated myself to the Gaiam mat once I knew I was "hooked." The 5mm thickness has made all the difference in the world and the design helps me space my feet wide enough and gauge the correct position for standing poses. Besides all that, I love the soothing color. Highly recommend.

Love this comfortable Yoga Mat

Can't believe I stuck with my old mat for so long. It was getting worn and I was stunned by how thin it was compared with this one! I have back and knee issues, so I like a little extra cushioning, especially for poses on the floor. This definitely fits the bill and I think the price is a great value.

Wonderfully thick

This Yoga Mat fits all my needs... my plans are to make Yoga part of my life-time goals.

As a intermediate...

I have had this mat for a few weeks and use it multiple times throughout the week. It is so beautiful and very cushiony! I love the padding it gives under my boney knees! The extra padding did take a little getting use to as my old mat was only 1 mm. It is a little slippery... My hands slip mainly when doing down dog for more than a minute or two. I washed it down with an apple cider vinegar and water solution which seemed to help a little. I did have to air it out outside after first opening it but the smell has subsided. Overall I am quite satisfied with this mat! 

Beautiful but a little slippery.

Not only is this mat pretty to look at, it's 5mm thick which is just right - not too cushy, not too thin. It's comfortable on the knees in certain poses yet it's not too thick to throw off my balance on some one-legged poses. Overall, good mat for the price.
