Assembly was rather frustrating (took my boyfriend and I about 2 hrs). Be careful to assemble all pieces in the right order and to make sure items are in the correct position. We installed one of the foot pads backwards and the first time I stepped on it to test it, it cracked. Luckily, it was on the far edge, doesn't affect use, and nothing super-glue can't fix.
Using the machine as an elliptical (which was the primary purpose I bought it) is comfortable and easy. There is some sway, but that's to be expected. The seated position is far less comfortable for me. I'm 5'4", and have to lean far forward to grasp the bars. The moving hand bars swing out too far to use and the stand-up bars are too far forward to use comfortably while pedaling. I can do it for a time, but the effort is fatiguing on my back.
All in all, I can get a nice work out, get my heart rate up, and can get exercise at home without paying a gym membership, so I'll take it as a win.
It was not used regularly, and certainly not every month.
Screws and pieces started falling out, then I noticed the pedals were stuck and something might be jammed.
I disassembled to replace the screws and tighten the rest, but unfortunately some of the plastic on the inside had melted with use. I'm still not sure how that even happened, but it's clear now that I can't fix it and it will be junked.
After everything, I'm feeling pretty disappointed with this purchase.
Assembly was mostly easy to figure out, with the exception of a pedal and bolt that was received jammed, and I required help from a coworker to loosen it with his power tools to finish. He struggled too, so I didn't feel like a total idiot.
Was received with some epic scratching and marks, which was a shame, but I'm pretty much the only person who will ever see it so whatever.
Is quiet and easy to exercise with and I feel like I am getting a pretty good work out.
Biggest complaint hands down: that seat bruised my fluffy bottom for days and it was very sad.
Bought a gel cushion to put over it and it is much better.
Still happy with this purchase and it is stuck with me for at least 30 more pounds.
We chose this one because it has a seat in case she cannot continue to stand/ride which we think is a plus…but it is really beneficial for her when she does stand. It really works her legs in the quads area where she gets extreme tightness. Working the quads this way helps with the tightnesss that is plaguing her walking. The doctor was right.
My only issue. Mom hasn’t complained about it, though she can only do about 40 reps. The issue is…when you’re standing. Your foot slides forward. It’s required that you wear shoes. Your foot will slide forward and stop where the peddle is but your toes will go into the end of your shoes. It is a little problem. I use it once a day for 10-15 minutes and it’s a great leg workout standing, but again, those toes slide to the front of my shoe.
Sitting does not have the sale impact. It’s similar to a stationary bike.
Using the trainer is a good workout, but you have to wear good shoes and socks because the pedals are slanted forward and your toes bang against the end of the pedals. I am thinking of adding maybe a few strips of shoe goo or something else to improve the traction on the pedals. Also, the seat is unpadded hard plastic. If you plan to use the seat, you should invest in the seat cover recommended at the time of purchase. When you use the seat, the handles are a stretch. At 5'6", I can just make it work.
For all of that, I like using the machine. I generally walk until I feel a good burn and then rest on the seat for two minutes. Generally, I can keep my heart rate in the target zone for 20 to 40 minutes without too much trouble or over exertion. I think this is a great machine when space is limited and your budget is relatively small.
