This is not only a romance but a story of survival, forgiving, moving forward, and learning to love and trust again. Gianna and Derek develop a true love that stems from what she had been through. It touches on a sensitive subject and anyone going to read this needs to keep an open mind. It has reality encased in every word and it just tore my heart. It's intense but it's also loving and passionate.

Holy smokes, what a great read! If you are looking for a book that will have you hooked with its characters and their story, this is your next read. This book comes with a warning for abuse and Gianna's story is something else. I loved her character, she is not broken or weak, she is strong and smart, her time to run has arrived. Wow! What an introduction to a new (to me) author. This page-turner has a definite trigger warning as the plot does include abuse. The author’s use of vivid writing places this plot and the characters up close in a breathtaking way. The dark themes are addressed head on and had me moving through a barrage of emotions.
