Incredibly accurate almost to the point of being to accurate. Measures to the 1/32 of an inch which is great. But can be a problem for me when I’m working and thinking in 16th or 8th of an inch accuracy. As for long distances the meter rock! To be able to shoot a distance of 200+’ in 1 second and not have to wheel it off is worth every penny. Sometimes it has a hard time getting a reading in bright sun light. But inside I never had a problem and have gotten a reading of 385’ even though it is rated for 260’. The adding/subtracting feature is great for calculating conduit runs. Just having it to figure out how high a ceiling is so I can bring the right size ladder or rent the proper lift is a money/time saver. I had a hard time using the "stake out" feature and found this feature basically unusable. But all the other features work great. Just another product where Fluke quality comes though again.

Much faster and easier than tape for a lot of measuring situations, but not all.

    What I've learned so far...

    Using:
    * Quick and easy to hand-measure to large flat surfaces, and to close smaller targets. It doesn't seem hindered by small hand movements when making the measurements.
    * I need to use a tripod and a spotter to hold unit steady enough and "find" the target when shooting distances >75ft to small targets (1x1ft). Haven't tried binoculars yet.
    * I wished this had some way to sight the beam over longer distances... it's harder than I was expecting to "find" the far targets with the beam, especially outside. One trick I use is to "walk" the beam down the wall so I can keep my eye on it to the target.
    * Outside in daylight I find that shielding the detector port with my hand or a black card helps get successful reads.
    * No issues reading off of dark weathered wood inside or outside
    * No issues reading off of white cardboard inside a gallon Ziploc bag (my cheap waterproof target I can pin/tape up)
    * Super easy to read vertical heights compared to tape that wants to fall over, or elevated horizontal distances where the tape wants to bend/snap down.
    * Easier to use tape measure when setting stakes fairly close together (say <10ft)
    * Small enough to put in a jacket pocket; also has easy to use belt loop

    Maintaining:
    * I need to bring spare batteries - requires fairly full batteries to run; anything below a full battery indicator seems to be a problem when making a reading.
    * The battery door is tricky to open. You need to set the screwblade slot perfectly parallel to the case so the tines clear, not turn it CCW till it stops. Even so it's difficult to open door since there's nothing to pull on.
    * The recessed coated optics get dusty. These want to be cleaned like camera lenses... gently. I carry a photographic jet blower in the field, and use photo-brush and micro-fiber when needed at home.

Reviewed in Canada on August 29, 2022
This device worked well for about 1.5 years. It is - supposedly - covered by a "3 Year Manufacturer's Warranty". Mine failed after 18 months. Fluke advised me to use their "online RMA system" to get service. However, their online system - after registering the product - simply states that "This Product is Not Repairable". Ok, I don't actually care if Fluke will REPAIR my unit or, at their sole discretion, REPLACE it under their warranty, but even if they do not provide repair service (and thus refuse to issue an online RMA), i believe i should still be entitled to that warranty coverage i have paid for. But, apparently NOT. Well, given this experience with several hundred dollars down the drain I will henceforth opt for the cheap option without warranty, given that the manufacturer with the supposedly good reputation simply cashes in their mark-up, but then makes it impossible to actually claim any support once needed. Very disappointed.
